Soul Mate Fic: What if there are two soulmates

World Setting:

It’s a world where everyone has their soulmate, though not everyone can find their match, or choose to reject them.

Everyone has a line inscribed on the wrist, it’s the first sentence their soul mate would speak to them. It’s very intimate and private, therefore people tend to hide with a wristband or a watch.

 

FL (The sentences with quotation marks are examples of the scene, you don’t have to follow them strictly) :

She’s a senior year high school student. Being an invisible girl at school doesn’t bother her, because she knows her soulmate somewhere can appreciate her true self, the answer has been written on her wrist. “ Is it thy will, thy image should keep open my heavy eyelids to the weary night?”(the line is optional, you can devise your own) it says. She imagined her soulmate being helplessly old-fashioned romantic. They complement each other, she thought, because she never had much interest in art or literature. The first day of the new term, a handsome new teacher began his literature class. He began his class with the exact line on her wrist, which she had been waiting for so long, and then he said “ anyone recognize that?” In astonishment, she stands up abruptly and clumsily falls over. “That’s another one falling for Shakespeare”. He joked. Yes, that’s when she realizes the line is from the motherfucking Shakespeare, not to her at all.

Confident that the teacher is her soulmate, She is determined to bury herself into books, creating opportunities for more conversations. When she’s about to leave school that day, the popular football-captain and famous playboy, who is also her long-term nemesis, saw her and recited the same Shakespearean line while mimicking her fall.

That goddamn line has been repeated twice a day. The teacher was speaking to the whole class, does that count? Now she has to decide for herself who is the real soul mate.

 

ML (You can choose between them or have all of them ended together):

1. The teacher. He just graduated from college and is new here. Handsome and civilized.

He doesn’t look like it, but he’s actually the youngest son of a infamous and powerful drug dealer. He breaks it off with his family because he believes in the goodness of the world and detest what his family does. His family think he’s naive and overprotected, they believe he will go back to them someday.

2. The high school playboy. He is the apex predator at school, the most popular figure. He and FL are neighbors and used to be friends when they were kids, but then things went wrong. He is the type of teenage boy who can’t express his feelings well and bully （but not over cruel) the girl he likes. When he wanted to care for FL, sometimes it came out like a threat. He is insecure, because his family(for example, a high-demanding and successful lawyer dad) is never satisfied with him, always pushing him to do more.

 

Potential Development:

1. The soulmate tattoos are mutual, therefore FL may attempt to find out their inscriptions, but always failed.

2. While she’s sounding out our two MLs, they may both fall in love with her, which would make things even more complicated.

3. FL is uncertain with her feelings, and decides to date both of them as trial for a while. Things would clash, and everyone would know the truth. Eventually the teacher might go the dark path.

4. Everyone is above 18, you know what I mean, wink.
