I woke up to someone shaking me awake. “Kiss, you have to get up. Scarlet’s here” Daniel’s says and I open my eyes to see the yellow and white jersey with ‘Green’ written across it. “What time is it?” I scratch my eyes looking at Daniel. “It’s 11. ~Fast forward two weeks~ “What’s that from?” Daniel says lifting up my sleeve a little more to reveal the obvious bruise. Shit I forgot about that one, “I bumped into my counter last night. “Daniel, I-l”I stutter, too shocked to process anything. “Kisses, I’m begging you” He says, eyes glossy. “I can’t. I can’t put that burden on you, your parents. I can’t do it” I say looking down at my hands. “But you can. My mom has said it, you basically live here. You are like her daughter. It would make her happy to know that you are safe. Please, do it for me, for Kylie, for my mother” He says tilting my head up to look into his eyes. “Daniel, I appreciate it. I love you and your whole family. But I’m okay at home. ~Kisses P.OV~ I find it hard to concentrate on my homework even with the little amount of liquor in my system. I guess I’m a light weight. ~Kisses P.O.V~ “Mom, Dad? Who is that?” I say confused, seeing a gorgeous girl with my drunken father. “I’m Trisha. How are you?” The lady says and I look at my mother. “Go take the trash out slut. Aka, Trisha” My mother says shoving me towards the stairs. Daniel is standing in the door way with a Jersey in his hand and duffel bag on his shoulder. “Thanks” I say blushing at his comment causing Kylie to wink at me. “I, um. I’m leaving now. Coach wants us there early. But this is my old Jersey from freshman year. You can wear it if you want. You know, with Samantha and everything” Daniel says and I nod, taking the jersey from him. “Thanks Dan. Good luck at your game tonight. You’ll be great” I say kissing his cheek and he walks away. “Oh em geeee” Kylie screeches. “You have got to stop doing that” I say rolling my eyes and sitting on her bed. “He totally likes you” Kylie says staring at me and taking the jersey out of my hands. “No he doesn’t Kyl, I said something to make Samantha think we are dating so we are going along with it I guess” I say shrugging, feeling a little upset. “Daniel never let anyone touch this jersey. Daniel grabs my hand and gives it a reassuring squeeze, noticing my uncomfort. “Daniel, my man. Great save out there” A guy, I’m assuming the one who’s house this party belongs to, says doing a handshake with Daniel. “Thanks Eric. It was all Kisses” Daniel says slinging an arm around me. “Ahh, so you’re the famous Kisses. Daniel’s first real girlfriend and the girl who told Samantha off. You’ve got fire” Eric slurs out causing me to shiver. “Thanks, it’s nice to meet you. And we are actually just fri-“ I start to say but Daniel covers my mouth. “What she means is that we are such good friends that it turned into something more. And we need a drink” He says pulling me to the kitchen. “Daniel, what the fuck? Why didn’t you tell your friend the truth?” I scream over the music. “His brother has a thing with Samantha’s sister. It’s Christmas time, which means it’s the most wonderful time of the year. At least for most people. For me, Christmas is just like any ordinary day. But this year might just be a little different. My mother and father just left for the airport yesterday and I’m spending some time with the Green’s while they are gone. I went Christmas shopping and got Daniel a signed football from his favorite team and a watch. I got Kylie an eyeshadow palette, some makeup brushes and a couple bath bombs. I got Tara a cute knitted blanket and made her some chocolate covered strawberries and pineapples. For Jim I got him a baseball hat and a t-shirt. I’ve been working a lot the last few weeks and Sydney has been paying me extra since she knows how tight I am with money. Plus I am her best worker. I’ve also been looking into getting a second job. ‘Daniel: You can come anytime.
