Abbey's point of view

“It took you forever to get here. Usually, when you say you’re coming, it takes five minutes. What happened?” Elizabeth asked, looking up at her brother with a frown.

“It’s been a while since I shifted,” I replied with a small smile. “That’s why we came by car.”

At that moment, my mate stood up from the couch and walked away. I blinked, slightly startled. For a moment, I thought he might be angry.

“Oh—I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean it like that,” Elizabeth said quickly, genuine remorse written all over her face.

I waved off her concern with another faint smile. “It’s okay. I know you didn’t.”

Still, I could tell she was bothered by her slip-up. After a few seconds, her expression brightened again. “Let’s watch TV.”

She nudged closer, and I welcomed the distraction.

Not long after we settled in, Rose’s voice rang out from the kitchen. “Girls, dinner is ready!”

I glanced around. Jeremy—my mate—was still nowhere to be found.

“Where’s he gone?” I asked Elizabeth.

“He’s

  • HER DESTINY    His Fate Mate

Abbey's point of view."I don’t want to talk about it," I whispered, my voice heavy with sadness.Jeremy’s hand stopped me, his grip firm but not harsh. "I think we should," he said quietly, his tone just as pained as mine.I didn’t fight him when he led us into the living room. We sat apart, on opposite ends of the couch, a gulf of silence between us. The tea in my hands was warm at first, but it only felt heavy—like the weight of everything unsaid. I stirred the liquid slowly, refusing to meet his gaze.He was patient this time, unusually so. No anger. No sharp words. Just a stillness that pressed against my walls."I wish you were never in those cells," he began. His voice cracked faintly. "It would’ve been easier if you’d never seen that place."A bitter laugh escaped me. "You killed my parents. It would still be the same." My words were sharp, but my tone was soft, weary. I finally looked at him, letting him see the storm behind my eyes. "Besides, if I hadn’t been in those cells,

  • HER DESTINY    A Bitter Truth

Abbey's point of view."Here, happy now?" Ezekiel said while he dropped the lit cigarette. I didn't bother to answer him, instead, I just followed him away from the daycare center." I didn't know you smoked." I said after calming down a little. "Only when I am stressed." His voice is low, as his words come out muffled. "And I am so stressed, so let keep the chat to a minimum today." He said like we used to chat at like. His sharp tone made me flinch a little. I am a beta, but I am still afraid of a Gamma. When will I have the courage to face my fear, I thought as I walked behind him, curious about why he stressed. "Why are you stressed?" I kept pressing despite his warning. A few fleeting moments passed before he replied. "I am stressed because of work unlike yours." His response was harsh. "While you are up painting pictures and singing, I am up cleaning Jeremy's mess in the cell." He then says.I stumbled over the cobble stone, coming to a stop. I knew we were getting close to the

  • HER DESTINY    A Priceless Tension

Abbey's point of view."Are you not coming inside?" I paused, my fingers already curled around the knob of the door. I didn't notice Ezekiel slowed his pace until he was right behind me, ready to make his way back to his home. "No." His response was curt, like it usually was. "I already talked to Jeremy." He added. "You did, when?" I furrowed my eyebrows, looking at him.Suddenly, it heated me into realization. "Oh, though the mind links," I said to him, bidding him goodbye. He barely acknowledged my pleasantries before he made his escape. I huffed, back to the door. Ezekiel is a confused man. He certainly acted like how I expected people from this pack to act - rude, standoffish, and a tinge bit judgmental.I was consumed by my thoughts as I entered the house, leaving the door closed to a thug. The only thing that brought me back was the awful smell wafting through the house. Immediately, my nerves pick up the smell. Whenever I perceive an awful smell, I always think it is a rough wo

  • HER DESTINY    New Bond

Abbey’s Point of ViewThe way Doctor Ben Stone said my mate’s name made me uncomfortable, but at least it was nice to see him.“It’s so nice to see a friendly face,” I said with a sheepish smile. “I never got to thank you for treating me kindly when we first met. Not everyone treats an outsider well at first.”Technically, apart from Elizabeth, Aira, Rosa, and now Liza, no one had really been nice to me because of my outsider status.“You don’t have to thank me for treating you like a decent human—” he smirked, “—or should I say a decent she-wolf?” He laughed at his own corny joke before adding, “And I’m sure you’re not just a random outsider. Alpha Jeremy seems to have taken a liking to you.”A small jolt of nerves rippled through me. One of Jeremy’s rules was clear—never discuss our relationship with anyone who didn’t already know. And I was certain Ben Stone wasn’t aware. I wasn’t about to start rumors that could get dangerous.I forced a light shrug. “I’m not sure. I still don’t k

  • HER DESTINY    Meeting the pups

Abbey's point of view.I trailed behind Liza, leaving a couple of steps between us to create some distance. I don't want to smother her with my presence. I watched from my spot behind her as she advanced towards the group of pups, placing her hands gently on the shoulders of the man in front of them. His back was turned towards me, but I could see him rest the books he was reading on his lap as she made her presence known."Are we enjoying story time?" Liza asked, her voice raising an octave as she addressed the group of pups in front. A chorus of glee filled the room answering her question. "I am glad you are enjoying it. Today, we have not one but two visitors." Chatter sparkled up among the pups, obviously excited about the news."Alpha Jeremy knew how much you want a new friend, his friend Abbey is going to be helping us now. Do you guys want to meet her?" Liza asked the group of pups in front of her. A collection of 'Yes, Miss Liza' echoed the air. The kids were unaware of my pre

  • HER DESTINY    A New turn

Abbey point of view Ezekiel cleared his throat next to me, bringing my attention back to the conversation at hand. "I believed Jeremy has already discussed the details with you, but I will come and get her at the end of the day. If there is any issue, you can mind link me directly or the Alpha. Please, only do so in case of an emergency." He hesitated before he shifted his gaze at me, "I have to return to my post. Do enjoy your day." That was the friendliest thing he has ever said to me."Thank you, I will." I replied to him with a soft smile. He nodded his head at Liza before turning on his heels. He is quick to make his leave, barely turning his glance at the little pups before departing. He didn't strike me as a kid type of guy. I am alone with Liza now. Despite not being a threat, I still can't help but feel a dread kind of sensation in my gut. My mind drifted to what Jeremy said about him having a lot of enemies."Why don't I show you around before you meet the pups"? Liza offer
