Chapter 30

I grabbed the soap and turned to him. “Let me give you a hand with those wounds,” I murmured, my voice barely rising above a whisper. I stood with him in the steamy shower, warm water pouring down on his back, rinsing off the remnants of the chaos he’d just escaped. He was naked from the top and was in his boxers, his taut muscles flinching from my touch. There were a few bruises and small cuts on his body, but he didn’t look pained. “Whose blood were these?”

“Wheeler,”

“Wheeler...” I was recalling who the man was.

“The bulky man you met here. He brought you to my office.”

“I remember him. Is he okay?” I may not know the man, but knowing that he helped Ryker escape that hell, my heart went for him.

“He’s fine. Got stabbed in the stomach, but he’ll live.”
