Chapter 21

There was no Ryker.

A month had gone by, and I still hadn’t heard from him. The silence was killing me. I missed him more than I thought possible. It was strange how someone who had once been the source of so much fear had now become the person I longed to see. I must be insane.

I was worried about what was going on with him. Had he been avoiding me intentionally, or was there something more to the story that I didn’t know? My mind was filled with a whirlwind of questions, and I needed answers. The frustration was eating me up, and I couldn’t even sleep properly. I couldn’t simply wait around for something to happen. And on top of that, I really did miss him.

I wanted to reach out to him. I needed to know if he was okay, and I needed to have that long-overdue conversation.
