HATERS.

CHAPTER: 2.

****

"Welcome home, Amanda." The boy sitting on the kitchen island greeted the moment Adrian pulled the doors open, he hissed and met the boy's hateful stare head-on. "What's the matter, Amanda?" The boy asked, making the ebony-skinned one sitting beside him chuckle while staring at his phone as if it was what he saw on the phone that made him laugh. Adrian was too tired, the last thing he needed right now was to let his roommates get on his nerves. Both boys have never liked him since the day Oliver brought him home. Well, at least Noah tries not to make it so obvious but Famous is the worst. Adrian had been in a fight with the boy more times than he could count. He just sighed and walked on. "Cat's got your tongue?" The boy laughed.

"Look, Famous, I am too tired to get annoyed by you this morning. I'm going to bed." With that said, Adrian left them sniggering to themselves like little kids who have just stolen candy from a candy store.

"Hey buddy, how goes it?" Oliver called from the living room, his eyes not leaving the TV show he was so focused on.

"Good, beat, dead, I need a bed." Adrian yawned and made a turn for the bedroom.

"Hey, just a sec, dude," Oliver yelled and reluctantly sat up and rushed over to him. Adrian smiled knowing that whatever it was he needed to say must be pretty important since it made him leave the TV.

"Sup?" He asked.

"Look, dude, Alison is coming over tonight." The boy said nervously while rubbing at the back of his neck. Adrian didn't need any further pieces of information. It means the man needed space with his girlfriend although he sleeps on the floor with his sleeping bag still doesn't mean he wants to be there when a woman is around, he's had enough of those days.

"No problem, I'll just move my things to the living room." Adrian smiled. It's no big deal, they have done this a lot of times. But, it seems there was more since Oliver still stood in front of him, rubbing the back of his neck his eyes glued to the floor. "What?" Adrian asked.

"You see, the thing is, she won't be leaving until...Sunday." Oliver whispered. This actually made Adrian laugh. Both he, Oliver, and Noah are of the same age, the youngest of them all being Famous who's just a year younger and the most troublesome.

"Hey, it's no biggie, come on. I'll make the living room my space for the next couple of days, it's cool, besides I work night shifts." Adrian replied nonchalantly.

Oliver felt bad knowing that Famous brings friends around all the time and if Adrian were to be asleep in the living room, it won't be a comfortable rest as Famous would make sure he doesn't get enough sleep, but he also needed to have his girlfriend around. He hasn't seen her in months and he was desperately in need to get some.

"I'm sorry." He apologized. He had no idea why he did but he felt like he needed to.

"It's cool, now can I go to bed?" Adrian asked with a smile. Oliver just nodded and moved aside for him to pass.

Once Adrian made it into the bedroom, he quickly threw his backpack down and pulled out his sleeping bag from the closet, and then set it up and climbed in. He was almost far gone in dreamland when a loud bang jolted him from sleep. He sat up straight and looked around him for a while trying to make sense of what it was that had woken him up. It didn't take too long to know what was happening. Oliver was arguing with none other than his royal highness. Out of curiosity, Adrian got up and walked out of the bedroom, the door was open so he didn't need to be extremely discreet as he made his way through the small passage and hid behind the wall, while he eavesdropped on them.

"I don't want her around here anymore!" Famous yelled. Adrian rolled his eyes and then made to turn around and head into the room. This wouldn't be the first time Oliver had to have this fight with the boy. He just couldn't understand what his problem was.

"Would it kill you to address him by his proper pronouns?" Oliver asked and Adrian stopped in his tracks and then went back to eavesdropping on them.

"Why would I do that? Just because he takes some stupid ass injections doesn't make him a man!" The boy laughed.

"You have a problem, Famous. " Oliver told him a matter of factly.

"I don't have a problem, I'm just not comfortable with him around here anymore, he's a dude with boobs and pussy for fuck's sake! It's weird to even think about him in the same house as me!" The boy yelled again and this time Adrian was irritated. He was going to go out there and give the little punk the beating of his life.

"At least you admitted he's a dude," Oliver smirked. "Adrian contributes to paying the bills in this house, is not as if he is living here for free. Cut him some slack!" Oliver fired back.

"Yeah, right. Contributes indeed, he lived here three years for free before he started contributing!" Famous replied.

"That is because at the time he doesn't have a job!"

"Well now that he does, how much does he contribute? He doesn't pay as many bills as us three pay in this house, so why should he discomfort me in my own home?"

"That's your problem man, what Adrian contributes is enough and he is my visitor so I can and will keep him as long as I want and there is nothing you or anybody can do about it!" Oliver sat slumped on the couch. He is really starting to hate Famous right now.

"If he doesn't leave, I am going to make this house a living hell for him!"

"It's not like you haven't already been doing that," Oliver replied.

"Are you fucking him?" Famous blurted out and this had Oliver flying back on his feet and rushing over to the other boy.

"What did you just say to me?" He asked, shooting daggers at the boy with his eyes.

If looks could kill, Famous would be six feet under.

"You heard me. Why are you so protective of him?"

"He is my friend for goodness sake! I've known him since I was a child!" Oliver yelled.

"So you keep saying, but I am beginning to think that there is more than meets the eye here," the boy sprang out his hands as if he was about to fly and then pokes Oliver in the chest. "I wonder what Alison would think." This did it for Oliver and in no time he had the boy pinned up against the wall and was throwing punches at him as fast as he had him pinned on that wall. Before Adrian could make his appearance known, Noah had already rushed in and had pulled Oliver off Famous while the other smiled and used his thumb to clean blood from the side of his broken lips.

"Hey, hey, relax!" Noah yelled at the still boiling Oliver. Adrian could swear he was smoking from his ears.

"You better watch what you say to me and if you ever say this shit before my girl, I'll kill you!" Oliver yelled and stormed out of the house completely.

Adrian felt bad. It was because of him after all. With his head hung low, he walked back into the bedroom.

Famous is all mouth and no strength to back it up. Why does he hate him so much? Adrian would never stop wondering. He crawled back into his sleeping bag and heaved a sigh of relief.

*****************

After he had left home, he had slept on the streets with a couple of homeless guys and sometimes in front of shops after closing hours. Four days later a woman was too kind to employ him to come work for her, he had started working at the florist shop and was earning enough to buy decent meals. She didn't pay him very much but it was enough. From the moment he left home he knew school was over for him so he didn't bother.

One month later, he had told the woman he was homeless and the kind woman had asked that he sleeps in the shop after closing hours. He slept in that shop for three months and then the woman learned the reason why he left home and she fired him. To this day he would never understand who had told the woman about him but he was shocked the day she had asked him why he left home? He had lied to her and she had told him in his face what she heard about him and she later told him that she couldn't keep such a person in her shop and so she fired him.

Again, he was back on the streets, he's saved up a few bucks but that would never get him a place and so when a girl had offered to help for a few bucks he had obliged. She lived out in the trailer pack and he gave her some money for him to stay a few months with her. She deals drugs and it was really uncomfortable living with her coupled with the fact that every other night she comes home with a different guy and they would fuck the rest of the night and on the days he couldn't handle all the moaning noise they made he would leave the trailer and sat out front until morning. Soon, he got another job at the bakery, he sold loaves of bread and he was getting paid.

He decided to knock it off until he would be able to save up enough to get a room at a mortal or something and till then he lived with Abigail. It was a long bumpy ride until the girl started stealing from him. Those were his hard-earned money and he didn't appreciate it being stolen. He worked hard, he stayed hungry, and he has plans. Now, how on earth would he achieve anything if his money keeps missing? Just when he's had enough, he confronted her and she had lied that it may have been one of her conquests but Adrian soon caught her in the act.

He had gone for a walk and had just returned, he thought he heard shuffling inside and he quietly went in undetected, all the while Abigail searched through his bag and pulled out a few notes, Adrian stood behind her with his arms folded on his chest. She has just pushed the fifty she stole into her pocket and then turned around to see Adrian standing behind her.

She was shocked.

Adrian was speechless for the most part until she raised alarm and started throwing insults at him, she picked up his bag and shoved it into his hands, and then she pushed him out of the trailer. Again, he was back at square one. He went to a motel and got a room since he had enough money to at the time and it was the cheapest and the oldest motel in town so he was able to pay for six months straight. He lived there and worked at the bakery until the owner sold the place three months after. When Adrian had asked the man why he was sealing the shop, his answer was simple.

"I'm retiring."

Who was he to question the man? Soon enough, he was job hunting again, he did get one as a delivery boy. All this time they all referred to him as her and he didn't argue with anyone. As he worked, he was saving for an apartment, and also meeting with his gender therapist, and saving up for the future. On one of his delivery rounds, he ran into Oliver. The boy had been so excited about seeing him that he had taken him out for lunch. It has been a year and six months since he left home so he understood Oliver's excitement not that he wasn't happy seeing the boy himself. Oliver had finished high school and had gotten into college. Adrian was happy for him. They had spoken a lot about themselves and Adrian had told him the whole truth surprisingly, Oliver accepted him and had taken him home that day to show him where he lived and told him that if he ever needed a place, he was always welcomed.

When he lost his job as the delivery boy because of some lie someone told against him, he called Oliver and the boy answered and from that day, he came to live with Oliver and the crazy duo. It took him so long to get another job as a month after he moved in with Oliver he had started on his Testosterone shots and that made him very happy albeit a lot cranky and with Famous always poking at his nerves they had heated it off wrongly and very hot and as usual, Adrian beats him all the time and yet he never stops until now.

He still hopes he saved up enough sooner so he could get his own place, no matter how small.

No place like home, right?
