CHAPTER 6
“Speaking about the devil.” Rose heard Dale say and she froze. She suddenly regretted eavesdropping on them, she should have left when she had the opportunity to.“How dare you!” Grim’s voice thundered.
Dale gave a sarcastic laugh, “She doesn't even have respect for you. Do you know she sees you as weak?”
“That's not true,” Rose went on her knees and bowed to Lord Grim.
“I'm sorry for my actions, it won't happen again.” Rose didn't understand why she was kneeling before Lord Grim, but she knew she had committed a serious offense, and the only way out was to ask for mercy.
“So you have the guts to challenge me?” Dale kicked Rose in her stomach and that sent her rolling in pain.
“Ahhh!” Rose cried, holding her stomach in pain.
“Dale! What has gotten into you?” Lord Grim questioned, his voice drained in irritation.
“So you want to take her side now, Grim. This is exactly why she doesn't have respect for you.” Dale answered and moved to Walk away but then Lord Grim stopped him.
“You won't dare disrespect me by walking out. I am your Lord, your ruler and you will obey me.” Lord Grim threatened, grabbing Dale by his shirt with a fire burning in his eyes.
Dale had never seen Grim that angry, he raised his hands to the sky to signal he would back off.
“I don't care if you are older, but I've been made head over you by the law, so get that into your stick skull, elder brother.” Lord Grim said before releasing his grasp.
“All right.” That was all Dale said before walking out on Grim.
Rose was still on the floor, but this time on her knees. Dale had kicked her hand at the side of her stomach, but she had to regain her strength.
“You!” Lord Grim signaled to Rose and she looked up at him. Their eyes locked in, and a fresh smell blew in the air. Grim wanted to say something but he quickly closed his lips.
“Meet me in the dining room in thirty minutes for dinner.” Lord Grim ordered and walked away.
“Ok. Okay.” Rose answered.
Rose waited for him to walk far before she started walking. She was able to trace her way back to her room in no time.
“Jeez!! That was close,” Rose panicked as she fell on the floor at the back of the door.
“I'm not going to try that again!” Rose assured herself and stood up to freshen up.
She had plans of asking about her Mom but she didn't know if that was a good idea anymore. From her observations, Lord Grim wasn't a man of many words. Unlike his brother Dale, who was loud and annoying, he was calculative, especially with his speech.
She had to tread with caution since he rarely said much.
Rose undressed herself, left in just her panties. She got into the bathroom to freshen up, but then she noticed there wasn't any sponge for her to use, just a bar soap in the drawer.
“Shit! I don't even have new clothes to wear except the one I just removed.” Ride lamented. She took her gown from the floor and brightened it to her nose.
“Ewwwww. It sucks to be me.” Rose lamented the smell from the gown caused her nose to twitch.
“You need to ask someone,” Lara spoke out.
“I know but definitely not Lord Grim,” Rose said with a soft laugh.
She was wearing her clothes back when a slight knock landed on her door.
“One minute, please,” she responded before adjusting the sleeveless gown she had been wearing, the only clothing she left Roar Pack with.
Rose opened the door to find Lord Grim standing. Their eyes held the silence for a long time before she opened the door wide for him to enter.
“I thought you didn't want me to come inside.” Lord Grim said and strode into the room gracefully.
“It's less than twenty minutes to dinner, what are you still doing unprepared?” Lord Grim asked.
“Uhmm… actually. I was…no, I wanted to…” Rose found herself stammering, and she didn't know why she was.
Lord Grim's stare at her was eating her up, and she felt like entering the ground.
“I never knew you had issues with speech,” Grim said.
“I'm not a stammerer.” Rose flared up.
“Easy tiger! I'm not attacking you.” Grim replied, his loud laughter floating in the air.
Rose wanted to protest, she hated when someone called her by an animal's name. She remembered when someone called her a snake, and her dad convinced her that it was personification, not an insult.
Rose sighed, “I needed new clothes and a sponge.”
“The last time I checked, we weren't expecting you here, so no arrangements were made for that,” Grim answered rudely.
“I don't mean it that way, maybe you can get one of your maids to go with me. I'll cover the cost, I have my ATM here in my pocket.” Rose pulled out a little purse she walked with. That was what helped her hide the ATM even when Reed had kept her hostage for weeks back in Roar Pack.
“You can't leave my castle. At least not yet until I know everything about you… aside from the one I already know.”
Rose smiled, “The only thing you know about me is that Vanessa is my mother. Apart from that, nothing.”
Lord Grim walked to where Rose was standing. “If that was the only thing I knew about you, no way would I have allowed you into my City.”
Rose squeezed her face, confused at what Grim was saying.
“I know everything about you, even how Reed took over your kingdom.”
“How??!” Rose inquired.
“Because I have eyes everywhere.”
Rose became silent, she didn't know if she made the right decision coming here. Maybe she would have waited a little before coming in search of her mother.
“Can I just get new clothes?” Rose begged, a sound of defeat in her voice. She was too tired to engage in an argument; her life right now didn't even make sense to her.
Lord Grim walked to her and placed a hand on her tiny waist. “Sure thing. My maids will take care of that. I love the way they are standing.” He said looking into her eyes.
Rose became confused and looked at her nipples that were popping hard from the satin material she was wearing. She couldn't contain the way she was horny and their lips came crashing into a kiss.
Chapter 112The Twist After the gruesome demise of Jaxon in the hands of Reed, the Solemn Roar Pack had finally accepted the bitter truth that there was no one else who could stand up to their new Tyrant. It had seemed that as Jaxon died, the last spark of resilience and bravery left with him. A cold void that would later be filled by the most unlikeliest of persons.~Sequel to Chapter 58Jaxon's blurry vision was followed by a weary mind. An expression of the weight he carried with him to the afterlife, or so he thought. Unfortunately, his journey to peace was far from over, and just above what seemed like a cliff shone a bright light on the horizon."Jaxon." A voice so subtle yet familiar called out to him from behind, chills struck down his spine as he suspected that it would indeed be the voice of his judge. The wolves believed that the herald of the Luna goddess was the one tasked to give the verdict of one's destination."Alpha Vale. How is... this possible?" His tone trembled
Chapter 111 Grim had already seen the scheme play out. Even before she could move the sword, he had already felt his head roll off his shoulder and his throat wastes hastily to the floor. It was not new news that he hated him and would not make it less so if this opportunity had just been bestowed on her. She drew the knife on one fast love arm, and he gasped. “You’re lucky my daughter seems to find something in you.” He kept checking his name. And when he had concluded that it was still whole, he breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank you for sparing my life,” he said, leaning against the pile once again. “I shouldn’t have. Now I’m regretting why I didn’t, now that it’s too late. With the way you ruined my life, who wouldn’t if the same thing was done to them?” “I regret it as well. I regret leaving you like that because now I know how it feels to have someone so close betray you like that. I had the self-reflection I needed, and I’m here to say I’m sorry.” It felt great h
Chapter 110Vanessa’s breath came in sharp, ragged bursts as she stepped onto the battlefield. The air reeked of scorched earth and blood and was filled with something fouler, something *alive*. Magic. Wild and hungry. Her heart hammered against her ribs, a drumbeat of fury and fear. She’d felt it was the moment Rose lost control. That shockwave of power, tearing through the night like a scream. It had iced her veins, screaming one truth: *Too late, too late, too late—* And now, as the chaos unfolded before her, her worst nightmare took shape. Rose hung limp over Reed’s shoulder, her hair a tangled curtain, her body too still. Vanessa’s chest caved in. *No. Not her. Not my girl.* Rage erupted inside her, white-hot and vicious. It begged for violence, for teeth and blood and fire. But she choked it down. This wasn’t the time for fury. This was the time for precision. One misstep, one reckless move, and her daughter was gone. Her eyes locked onto Reed. He stood there, smug, *v
Chapter 109 A touch from Rose was all it took to put Grim in a good mood. Suddenly, the pain didn’t matter. All his senses were heightened, and a couple more strands of strength were added. This was a reminder of what he had been fighting for. She was worth it. She was worth every bruise, every scar, every drop he had spilled in the war. He would do it all over again for her and only her. “Is this because I talked about your father?” “Don't do this, Reed! She said no!” Grim said, leaning forward. He was trying to avoid the dark side of her coming to the fore. “Stay out of this, Grim. She is just being stubborn and needs to be reminded of what happens to people who think they can mess with me and get off free.” He slowed his tone, focusing his gaze on Rose alone. “I absorbed their necks right in front of their daughter. I ripped their hearts out.” Rose was fighting hard, but the image of her father’s face, begging in his last moments, wouldn't stop popping up in her min
Chapter 108Rose sat on the porch stairs, gazing into the distance. She could see it. The flames rising into the sky, the screams for help. Yes, the scent of blood had gotten to her as well. She could thank her hidden vampire sense of smell for that. It was just her and Vanessa at home. She had been sensing something was coming. Rose was waiting for her. She wanted to be the first to get the news of Judith’s return. Why hadn’t she snuck out yet? She was afraid of getting caught. It was an easy path to take back to the palace. But what could she do if she got there, huh? Werewolves now hated her. If she showed up, it would mean no surprise that they would either tear her to death or put the blame for what they were facing on her. To avoid that, she had stayed put. This was not a time for her tricks. The war was serious. Her mind kept wondering if Grim was still alive. Was he safe? The place she had seen him seated looked familiar to her. It was in Noetvelle, and that me
Chapter 107If looks could kill, Reed would have been on the floor, spirit unbound, blood-filled. That attack would not be from the thousands of people waiting patiently to see him for his downfall. It could be from Grim. If not for the sorceress keeping him in check nothing would have stopped him from reaching out his hand and blocking both of its eyes. it might not have been successful but at least they would have tried. He had heard the stories about how Reed had treated Rose, how he had tortured our father and chased her from the pack. On top of that he had the guts to call her his wife?“I have no idea who you are talking about,”* Grim replied, picking up a piece from the floor. “Oh, man. I love that vase,” he said, running his hands along the vase. “You’re going to have to pay for that.” He was stalling. If you thought the man was interested in an average deal with his villain, you were terribly wrong. It was a clever and subtle attempt to stall, and he was doing it on purp
