MasukLAURA’S POV.
“Oh my God Laura, I missed you,” Elijah's Aunt embraced me in a hug, “you have lost so much weight, Elijah haven't you been taking care of her?” She groaned as he glared at Elijah. We stood by the airport, as we welcomed Ms Ivy and Ethan Reed. Elijah had a striking resemblance to his brother Ethan, he had brown eyes, black hair. He was a bit shorter than Elijah. His auntie had the same green eyes, what a striking feature. “No Ivy, how are you and how was your trip?” Elijah asked. “All good my Sonny, I am so tired from the flight. Ethan get in the car with your brother, let me bond with my daughter in law.” She smiled. Even in her late 40’s she still looked beautiful. Ms Ivy Reed had always been kind to me, like a daughter. I felt safe around her, I saw her as my mother. A mother I wish I had. We hopped into the car and headed to the mansion. “Hey bro..” Ethan jumped to hug Elijah, “did you hear that Astrid is in town?” He was goofy , yet organized and kind. He was a total opposite of my husband. “Yes I heard, she's at the mansion.” He said. “Why at the mansion-?” Ethan asked. His gaze fixed on his phone as usual. “What?! And you did not bother to inform me? How does your wife feel about that, Elijah?” Ms Ivy Reed exclaimed, she seemed skeptical about Elijah's idea of accommodating Astrid. She had always suspected Astrid and Elijah's relationship. “Ivy, we will talk more when we reach the mansion,” he answered nonchalantly. The driver fixed his eyes on the road, the tension in the car was heavy. “I demand answers now, Laura, did you agree to this?” she asked me. I looked at Elijah and jaw tightened, his hand flexed angrily. However I did not want any drama brewing in the house, Elijah may have been an ass but he will get his punishment soon. “I wasn't aware, but we agreed to accommodate her well as soon as she arrived.” I smiled. “Really? If you're okay with it then that's fine. But if anything goes wrong Elijah, I will not spare you.” She said, Ethan chuckled and Elijah gritted his teeth. “I'll try my best,” he huffed. “We are here,” Richard announced. We got in the mansion, the house help carried the bags into Ms Ivy and Ethan rooms. Elijah sat by the living room, Ms Lilly rushed in breathless. “Mr Reed…! It's Astrid, she fell unconscious.” She panicked frantically. “What?! I thought she would be fine by now,” he said. We rushed to her room and found her on the bed, I could swear she looked fine. Elijah sat by her bed calling her name. He called the family Doctor and within minutes he arrived. Ms Ivy stood there in shock, Elijah could not allow anyone near her. We stood outside the door, as the doctor examined Astrid. “She should be fine, she had some complications from the allergies but here is a list of medication she should take.” The doctor walked out the room. Elijah held Astrid like his life depended on it. Something he never did with me. “I'll take care of you, no matter what” he said. Elijah did not step out of the room, Ms Ivy became frantic about it. “Laura, why is Elijah still in her room? Go get him.” She ordered. “She needs him, he's the only person close to her. In this situation she needs his comfort and support.” I muttered. I know he loved her, he could not see her hurt. “But that's why we have the house help, they can take care of her,” she looked at me with worried eyes. “Ms Ivy, trust me on this one. I trust my Elijah, she's safe with him.” I could feel tears beaming from my eyes, but I blinked them away. I could not show my weakness, I could not show I am affected that my husband is with another woman in the name of comfort. She looked into my eyes and I could see she felt pity on me, but I couldn't show how affected I was. ***** Hours later, we were all preparing for the evening party. Ethan's 27th birthday. Elijah had already walked out of Astrid's room, ordering me to take care of her because of her fragile health. Everyone was busy trying to prepare themselves except me, who had to fetch every little item for Astrid. Fortunately, Ms Lilly was there to help. She was selfish and a spoiled brat, for someone who collapsed a few hours ago, she sure looked fit enough to order everyone around. “Oh Laura, don't forget to pack my inhaler.” She sneered as she walked into the dressing room. I let out a forced smile, if not for Elijah ordering me to do this. I wouldn't be doing this. “Whatever, bitch” I answered, Packing everything in her purse. I saw a piece of paper stick out, out of curiosity. I secretly took it out and it was a pregnancy test report. I gasped. I scanned through it and it showed positive. I couldn't believe what I had seen, I quickly took my phone and captured the test results. Astrid came out of the dressing room, bossy as usual and grabbed her purse from my hands. “Whatever you have seen, keep it to yourself or else. You'll go back to the streets where you belong.” She said.Luna’s POVI walked down the quiet hallway, letting the cool air settle the heaviness inside my chest. The hospital always smelled like antiseptic and silence, but today it felt like something else—like a bridge between everything we had survived and everything still waiting for us.I leaned back against the wall, closing my eyes for a second. Everything had been so chaotic these last few weeks, one storm after another, and now that things were finally slowing… I didn’t know what to do with the quiet.Footsteps approached, steady and familiar.Jaden.When I opened my eyes, he was already standing in front of me. His expression softened when he saw my face, and he lifted his hand to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear.“You okay?” he asked gently.I nodded. “Just… thinking.”He leaned his shoulder against the wall beside me. “About your parents?”I let out a breath. “They can’t even stand in the same room without freezing. I don’t know what happened between them. I grew up thinking th
LUNA'S POVI stayed by the hospital window long after Jaden left to meet Richard. The quiet was heavy, broken only by the soft beeping of the monitors. Elina was resting, her face pale against the pillow. The sound of footsteps made me turn. My father walked in, tall and calm as always, his expression unreadable. It had been three months since he’d left on a business trip, but seeing him again made me realize how much we’d felt his absence.“Luna,” he said quietly. “You should’ve called me.”“I didn’t want to worry you,” I replied. He nodded slightly but didn’t say anything more. A few seconds later, my mother appeared behind him. She hesitated in the doorway before walking in. The moment they were in the same room, the tension was unmistakable.Mom looked tired. “She doesn’t need a lecture, Elijah,” she said softly. “She’s been through enough.”He didn’t argue. “I didn’t come to lecture her. I just wanted to see my daughter.”Their eyes met briefly, a flash of old emotions passing be
Luna Reed/ Mrs Jaden StylesThe beeping of the hospital monitor was the first thing I heard when I came to. My head throbbed, the pain sharp and steady. I blinked until the room came into focus—white walls, sterile light, and the faint smell of disinfectant. It took a moment before everything came back: the empty road, following Jaden, the old building, the hand that grabbed me, and the blow that sent me into darkness. He was sitting in the chair by the window when I turned my head. His face was pale, his eyes shadowed.“You’re awake,” he said quietly.I didn’t answer right away. My voice came out rough. “What were you doing there?”He hesitated, then said, “You shouldn’t have followed me.”“That’s not an answer.”He rubbed the back of his neck, eyes avoiding mine. “It was Elina.”The name was enough to make my pulse quicken. “Elina,” I repeated flatly. “The same Elina who betrayed me?”He nodded once.A cold laugh slipped out. “And you decided not to tell me? You’ve been sneaking out
Luna’s POV The night was heavy with silence, the kind that pressed against the windows and wrapped the house in an unsettling stillness. I couldn’t sleep. No matter how many times I rolled over or closed my eyes, my thoughts kept circling back to Jaden—his voice, the edge in his tone earlier, the secret he refused to share. It gnawed at me. When I finally heard the sound of the front door creaking open, my body froze. I sat up, holding my breath. The clock on the wall blinked 11:47 p.m. Who could it be? I slipped quietly out of bed, every step careful, soft against the wooden floor. When I peeked through the upstairs hallway, I saw Jaden walking out—his tall figure cloaked in darkness, shoulders tense. He moved with purpose, not like someone going for a midnight walk. Something in my chest tightened. Without thinking, I grabbed a shawl and followed him. My bare feet made no sound against the cool marble. The night air greeted me, cold and biting. Jaden was already a few paces a
Luna’s POVThe house was quiet, the kind of silence that made every creak in the floorboards feel amplified. I had spent the morning cleaning, trying to distract myself from the gnawing anxiety I’d been feeling all week. But no amount of sweeping or organizing could erase the flutter in my stomach, the unshakable feeling that something was about to change—something big.I closed my eyes for a moment, pressing a hand to my lower belly. It had been subtle at first—nausea, slight fatigue—but now it was undeniable. I was pregnant. My heart raced as I imagined telling Jaden, picturing his reaction. His smile, the way his eyes crinkled when he laughed… I wanted him to know first. I wanted him to be the one to share this moment with me.I turned toward the kitchen, trying to find him, when I heard the faint sound of his voice. I froze. He was on the phone, pacing near the living room, voice low and tense.“…I just don’t know what to do,” Jaden said, his tone strained. “If something happens…
Laura’s POVThe morning sun barely pierced the blinds, casting thin lines of light across the sterile hospital room. I sat in the chair opposite Elina’s bed, still exhausted from the night’s tension, but unable to leave. Richard hadn’t slept, and his eyes were red-rimmed, dark circles shadowing his face. He hadn’t moved from his spot beside her since dawn, his hand still gently holding hers.“She’s awake,” I whispered, breaking the silence.Richard didn’t look up immediately. His jaw was tight, lips pressed together, eyes fixed on Elina. Then, slowly, he nodded. “I see that. Thank God.” His voice was hoarse, raw. “I can’t believe she’s here… she’s really here.”I watched him carefully. Every subtle movement, every whispered word to Elina, carried the weight of years lost. It wasn’t just about tonight—it was about decades of absence, mistakes, and regrets. The tension in the room wasn’t just fear of outside threats; it was the weight of history pressing down on them both.Suddenly, the
