Chapter Fifty-Eight

I and Cassie are on our way to the cafeteria now because it's lunch time now. Cassie is telling me about how our school board is considering installing cameras in the hallways, libraries, basketball, and football courts, and other places as a result of the vandalism that just occurred.

As I listen to her talk, I notice not so silent bickering and whispering among the students that surround us.

At first, I assume they are all also conversing about the vandalism and cameras which is the trending topic like Cassie and I but I am starting to guess that is not the case. For some reason, I feel like everyone is staring at me.

I wonder if the students are suspecting that I'm the vandal. I chuckle lightly at the ridiculous thought. I'm probably imagining the stares, they can't be looking at me. I'm not that interesting.

It is more likely that they are staring at Cassie, she looks pretty good today in her cute red pleated dress and sleek ponytail. I conclude that they are not looking at
