New life

The girl, a huntress by profession stares at the dead bodies in awe whilst the crossbow remains untouched by the side of her waist. Her little waist was adhered with a leather belt, a support system for handling all her problems namely the knife, a crossbow and a gun.

A few pills in her pocket, too.

Killing the vampires was easier than I looked, that's where the girl grew confused about the character she just bumped into. Even if the bumping part was planned, she wasn't explained about what kind of creature she was dealing with.

The male licks his lips, smacks his hips with his open fists and looks at the woman staring at him like she witnessed a literal ghost.

"Are you going to speak or should I assume you're one of them?" He sternly asks the woman, but she steps back from him, appalled by the smell of alcohol from his speech.

"Um... I do not know if this concerns you but I'm a huntress." He begins chuckling at her.

"Darling, you gotta be specific about being which huntress—"

"Vampire! Vampire... I'm a vampire huntress." She says in a hurried manner, afraid that he will behead her.

"I can see that. Well, I don't drive a bike, do you?" He asks the woman, pointing his finger at her whilst she curtly nods under the moonlight.

"Then what are we waiting for? Drop me home." He demands.

"B-but I have to—"

"Are you defying the king of werewolves now?" He asks her, she stands horrified when she realizes, "Oh! So you're the new King of werewolves! No wonder you killed them single handedly!"

"Do I have to use my feet too or what? Of course I'll use my hands to kill."

"Jeez, and you're drunk as hell. Well, please tell me where the palace is, your majesty." The woman says, Lucien chuckles in a drunken way and sways left and right.

"Come on. I'll lead you on the way."

Driving through the woods on an uneven terrain, the King of werewolves finally reaches the palace gates when the guards run towards him with concern. He stops them on their tracks right away, climbing down the Harley Davidson whose engine sound was distracting him from his thoughts.

Taking initiative, he switches the engine off manually, gazing straight into the woman's soul as she finally removes her helmet that has been atop her head.

"Come inside, you look hungry and sick as hell." Lucien had no filter to his mouth when he says offensive things towards people. The encouragement to speak such things to people came from the confidence that no one will ever harm him at all.

Even if they shot a bullet through him, he'd take most of five minutes to recover completely. That was the worst of his mutation.

The girl in front of him doesn't know that yet, so she speaks back at him.

"You can f*cking force me into things!" She yells in his face. The male closes his eyes, smiling at her whilst slowly moving back and shrugging his shoulders, "Every action has a consequence, baby girl!"

Her mouth falls ajar at how indecently he was talking to her.

Before she could speak anything against him, a group of guards abduct her from her bike, the bike was specially instructed to keep safe in the garage for it gave the king a ride back to his palace.

She falls unconscious despite her protests, after all the woman was just a meek little human girl.

Upon conquering her senses back, the woman looks around and observes her surroundings to be a really royal looking room. She thinks she is escorted inside when she was unconscious last night, might as well be sweetly adored by the king to stay alive for this long too.

Just as she thought of the forbidden King of werewolves, his half bare body walks inside but from a steamy looking room. Is that the sauna?

He rubs his head with the hair towel, surprised that the new entity in his room was staring at him intently. Shamelessly, he spreads his arms and smirks at her, "How do I look?"

Gulping down the nervousness to the bottom of her stomach, she quickly hides inside the covers and yells at him, "I didn't see anything, your majesty! Forgive me!" She screams.

The male, however thinks that her behavior was cute. Approaching her dainty figure shivering like a leaf inside the covers, he slowly lifts them up and looks at her face.

"We have met before." He states.

"Your majesty, apart from yesterday, we haven't known each other." She replies to him. Silence befalls on the two, comfortable yet eerie and strange.

"Liar."

Upon hearing him say that, the woman removes the covers and looks at him with a pout and also a furrow in her eyebrows. To him, she looked like a chinchilla, out of control and rabid yet so cute.

The golden locket hanging around his neck makes a soft metal clinking sound when he sits next to her, not minding the fact that he was fresh out of shower.

"You're too rude not to introduce yourself to your King yet." Lucien says to Laura, the vampire huntress as she widens her eyes to the extent that she thought they were going to fall off her sockets.

Before anything, she thinks to herself. Firstly, she didn't know she had to introduce herself. And secondly, yes, they did meet before.

"L-Laura Hopkins, your majesty."

"Well, nice to meet you again, Laura Hopkins. From what I recollect, your name was Jane." The man says, and in that instant, Laura wished she dug a hole right there and stay hidden against everything and especially him.

"Ah... now I remember you. Jane from the Street club. Damn!" He clicks his fingers while leaving her to cringe upon herself.

"Alcohol does things to everyone, doesn't it?" He taunts her, Laura left with no option but to laugh along with him unless she wants her head chewed off.

"Did you sleep well?" His next question makes her think if he had a bipolar disorder.

"Y-yes, your majesty."

"Then I hope you'd find your way out of my room too." Snatching the smile from her face, the man utters in a monotonous voice. She was in the same clothes from last night as she quickly escapes the room whilst hurriedly apologizing to him, profusely.

Once outside the room, she watches a couple of guards on alert, as if she would do anything to them. All she wanted for now was to escape this palace and get back to work, but a certain someone had kept her captive inside the palace like his own little play thing.

Banging her head against the wall would probably gain attention which she couldn't afford at the moment. Instead, she asks a female omega who passes through the hallway.

"Excuse me! Miss!" She calls for the middle aged, black hair in a bun lady to halt her in the hallway, "Are you from the Moonshine pack or the Ethreas pack?" The woman asks.

"Ethreas, but everyone is bound to be known as a part of Moonshine pack now. Why do you ask?" The old lady asks Laura who nods her head.

"The King trapped me here and..." Laura continues speaking ill of the King who quietly comes and stands behind her. The horror struck omega shakes in her bones at the expression of amusement her king was showing towards Laura who was defiantly explaining how she was technically kidnapped by the king. "...he won't let me go! I feel like I will become his concubine and I'm still young, miss! Please help me! I hate the King already I—"

"If you hate me that much," The male suddenly speaks behind her, Laura jumps in her toes when she realizes the proximity of the voice was deadly closer to herself, "Why didn't you try to escape from me?" Lucien asks wisely.

"A-alpha..." she turns around, slowly like in a movie but it was a horror movie, "I didn't mean it—"

"You should know that alphas are sensitive to smell. Take a bath for yourself in my room and come to the table to eat." He coldly says to the woman, despite all the things she spoke about him.

Laura thinks that he would shift into a wolf and feast on her or kill her brutally at the table or simply just try to feed her poison. Death was awaiting her and the dealer seems to be the King of werewolves.

"Oh god, I hate my life." But doing as he said, she finds her way towards the grand setting of the table where the silver platter is on the total opposite of the king himself.

Almost eleven sets of chairs away was hers, both at the ends of the oval table.

When food was served, she could not keep the words to herself as she spills it out.

"Your majesty, why did you choose to keep me here?" She asks him. The male takes a bite of the food from the fork, looking at her and saying,

"Normally Laura, I'd kill anyone who dares cross my paths when I'm drunk. But you turned out to be lucky enough to survive me,

Because you're my mate for this life."
