Meeting of parents

Her mother shook her head and looked at Taeyang, saying, “Yoo Taeyang, the one Jiyeon had been chattering about the entire week.”

Taeyang stood up and bowed.

“Hello, Auntie,” he greeted.

Her mother sat on the couch beside Jiyeon and assessed the polite boy. Taeyang had a faint smile on his features as he sat down on the chair.

Her mother then questioned, “What does your parents do?”

Jiyeon gave her mother a stink eye at the question. Who asked one about their parents these days? This sounded way too much embarrassing due to how intruding it was.

Her mother ignored the frown that settled on her face.

Taeyang didn’t mind the question while he responded, “My parents— they run a small business abroad.”

“Are they abroad now?” her mother asked.

The boy nodded.

“Are you living here all by yourself?”
