Jesse’s POV

I ran the background check on Jasmine Trivett quietly during a slow stretch in the mid-afternoon, when most of the staff were buried in meetings or staring at screens. I didn’t log it under any official request. Tristan hadn’t authorized it, and that told me everything I needed to know. He wasn’t thinking clearly about this woman. And my job, my entire purpose in this pack, was to think clearly about everything.

The reports appeared line by line on my screen. Her record was clean

  • Her Alpha’s Kryptonite   CHAPTER 67: Marshall’s True Role Revealed

Zea’s POV Wade’s name lit up on my phone just after seven. I answered on the second ring and stepped over to the kitchen window without thinking about it. Some calls needed space, and this one already felt like it might. Outside, the street was doing its ordinary evening—someone walking a dog under the streetlight, a car idling too long at the curb, the low steady rush of traffic a couple blocks over. I pressed the phone to my ear and kept my eyes on the pavement below. “Hey, talk to me. What did you find?” I said. Wade’s voice came through calm and even, the way it always did when he was working in the back room with the traces of his findings pulled up and everything else tuned out. I could picture him sitting there, screens glowing, one hand on the keyboard, the other absently turning a pen. He didn’t waste time with greetings when the information was heavy. “I’ve got something on Marshall Pearce,” he said. “His financial side precisely, I’m going to walk it through clean. One

  • Her Alpha’s Kryptonite   CHAPTER 66: Tristan Breaks

Tristan’s POV The strands of Marc’s hair lay flat on my desk. Three of them, dark, fine and silky strands. Almost weightless against the black surface. I had taken them in the lobby without him noticing, my hand briefly resting on the back of his head while he showed me the silver wolf in his notebook, fingers closing carefully, then opening again as if I had only been ruffling his hair the way any adult might. He had not noticed, Jeff had possibly not noticed. Even I had almost convinced myself it was nothing until I returned to the office and placed them on the desk with deliberate care. I stared at them for a long time before I reached for the phone. Jesse’s line connected on the second ring. I pressed one hand over the hairs while I waited for his voice, not looking at them, only feeling the faint texture under my palm. It was so light they barely registered, and heavy enough that my chest felt tight around the decision I had been avoiding for months. “Alpha,” Jesse said.

  • Her Alpha’s Kryptonite   CHAPTER 65: Tristan and Marc Alone

Tristan’s POV Jasmine’s impromptu meeting was supposed to take about thirty minutes. Jeff had brought Marc down to the lobby to wait for her. I told myself I had legitimate reasons to pass through that lobby, under the guise of exchanging a quick word with security to check on the afternoon logs, and discuss the east entrance schedule. Each reason was ridiculous and I knew it, but I used them anyway. Jeff stood near the main doors in his usual quiet demeanor, he gave me a short nod when I came through the first time. He did not comment when I came through the second time. By the third pass he simply shifted his weight and looked away, giving me the space without making it obvious. Marc sat on the low bench near the indoor plants, swinging his legs playfully, a small notebook open on his lap. He held a pencil with the same careful focus he gave most things. I stopped a few feet away and watched him for a moment before I let myself sit down on the other end of the bench. He glanced

  • Her Alpha’s Kryptonite   CHAPTER 64: Marc’s Question

Jasmine’s POV I was brushing Marc’s teeth when he asked the question. We were standing in the small bathroom, the two of us framed in the mirror above the sink. His dark curls were still damp from the bath. Toothpaste foam gathered at the corners of his mouth. I had one hand gently under his chin, the other guiding the toothbrush in the careful circles the dentist had shown us. It was an ordinary night, nothing special about it until his voice cut through the quiet. “Mom.” I hummed to let him know I was listening. “Who is my dad?” My hand on the toothbrush paused for exactly one beat. Then I continued brushing, slower now, while the question settled between us like something that had been waiting for the right moment to land. He didn’t ask it with drama. He didn’t whisper or look away. He asked it in the same calm, measured way he asked everything important—like he had already turned the thought over carefully and decided it deserved a real answer instead of a comfortable defle

  • Her Alpha’s Kryptonite   CHAPTER 63: The Rogues

Garth’s POV Garth spread the surveillance photographs across the long table, each image received the same careful attention. Making sure not to overlap or unnecessarily stack them. He worked in silence, the only sound the soft slide of glossy paper against wood. The basement room was cool and windowless. The air smelled faintly of old stone and the metallic tang of the equipment hung along the far wall. Blue light from the monitors washed over the edges of the table. He preferred it this way. When the photographs were arranged to his satisfaction, he picked up the red pen. He drew a slow, deliberate circle around Marc’s school. The boy was visible at the gate in the image, a small backpack on his shoulders, dark curls catching the afternoon light. Jeff stood nearby, positioned with the careful awareness of a professional who took his post seriously. Garth’s pen moved without haste. The circle closed cleanly around the school building and the stretch of sidewalk where the child w

  • Her Alpha’s Kryptonite    CHAPTER 62: Confrontation Between Alphas

Jasmine’s POV I knew they were going to be in the boardroom the moment I heard Fabian’s name at the front desk. I shouldn’t have gone down there, I told myself that the whole way to the elevator. I had work on my desk, reports were waiting. A perfectly good reason to stay on my floor and pretend the two most powerful men currently circling my life weren’t about to tear into each other three levels below. But my feet didn’t listen, they carried me straight to the executive floor like they had a mind of their own. The hallway outside the main boardroom was quiet. I stopped a few steps from the door and just stood there, my heart already picking up speed. I could hear their voices through the thick wood. They weren’t shouting at each other, and that only made it worse. Fabian’s voice came first, smooth and controlled. “You’re hoarding her, Tristan. You have a silver-blooded omega living under your roof, training under your hand, and you’re treating her like a proprietary asset inst
