Tessa’s POV:

The tune the orchestra played sounded like the soundtrack to a Disney princess movie. It was soft, magical, and almost cloud-like. It didn’t feel like I was walking into the open garden; it felt like I was floating on white, foamy clouds.

At both sides of the wide space were the house members, all on their feet, wide smiles plastered on their faces as I walked past. One would think I was the very sun and they were just seeing light for the first time in their lives.

At the center of the picturesque garden stood Lucian, elegant in his ceremonial wear: a white cotton shirt that was almost knee-length and a pair of fitted white pants to match. Even from a distance, it was hard not to notice how hot he looked. How perfect his slicked-back long hair shaped his sharp jawline and how his muscles hugged his drip.

When I reached where Lucian stood, our eyes locked, and I could see it. A deep yearning on his face, like he had been waiting for me his whole life. My heart couldn’t he

Tessa POV: “Tessa, I’m talking to you. Is this true?” Lucian faced me for answers. My eyes roamed around, avoiding his gaze. “Yes, it’s true,” I admitted. “Ahah! You can’t deny it now!” Tori shouted, practically leaping for joy. Lucian sighed disappointedly and came closer. “Why didn’t you say anything before?” His face spawned with betrayal. “You watched me defend you knowing that you actually did it?” I held onto his shirt. “Lucian I promise you, I didn’t take the necklace.” My eyes begged for him to believe me, but the firm belief in me that formerly held his shoulders up had slumped down now. “You lied before; why should I believe you now?” He grabbed my wrist and wriggled my hand off his shirt. I held my hand to my chest. “I didn’t lie, I just—” Tori interrupted, “You just didn’t tell the whole truth?” She shook her head. “Yeah, that’s still a lie, Tessa.” I didn’t even pay Tori any attention. I didn’t have to defend myself to her. The only people I was bothere

Tessa POV:My mouth opened in shock. “I don’t understand what you mean, Olivia. I didn’t take your necklace.”Olivia scoffed, full of doubt. “You were the only one in that room with me, Tessa. I don’t mean to point fingers, but I’ve had this necklace for the longest time and have worn it all around the estate. Not once has it gone missing, and now you—”“She what?” Lucian broke out. “She what, Olivia?” He repeated, his voice hauntingly ascendant.Lucian moved with authority to my side. Authority that screamed, ‘I am the alpha, and she is my wife; don’t try to mess with her.’ It made a staggering chill run down my spine. The white fitted sleeves he wore clung to his biceps, and he placed his hand around my slender waist. “Are you accusing my bride of being a thief, Olivia?” He demanded in a strong tone.Olivia’s voice trembled a little. “I’m not accusing anybody… I just want to know where my necklace disappeared to.” She raised her hand and brought it down in gesticulation. “You of all

Tessa POV:I swallowed, the gulp as loud as the stiff rod caressed between my legs. I attempted to put distance between us, but Lucian’s hand drew me back and held me tight. “Where are you going?”My breath came out ragged. “Lucian…you…I…” I tripped on my words. My brain seemed to have stopped functioning as a result of an overload.“Shush!” He quieted my stuttering voice. “You knew exactly what you were doing when you chose this dress.” Lucian’s eyes went down to my boob area again. This time he wasn’t hiding the fact that he was lusting after them. No, he was boldly staring at them like a toddler would look at a candy, right in front of me.He moved his head closer, his mouth almost touching my neck, and goosebumps popped all over me. “You need to take care of what you started… wifey,” hot air blew against the nape of my neck.I opened my mouth to say something, to protest. To tell him to back off and not cross the line because we were only playing pretend, but no word came out. I

Tessa POV:With Lucian’s hand around my neck, he brought my face closer to his, his breath hot on my face. We were close. Too close.Standing so close to him, I could see every inch of his perfect facial features. His arched eyebrows, his bright red irises that bore into mine, his pointed nose, and his plump lips. He looked like a sculptured Greek god.“I… I…” I couldn’t form a single word. Lucian’s touch seemed to be having some sort of an effect on me.No! This must just be because I didn’t expect him to grab me by my neck. I was just shocked.Yes! That was all it was—shock.Like pulling a hand away from fire, I retreated. Freeing myself from Lucian’s grip. “I came here to discuss something important with you.” I tried to stabilize my voice.Lucian wasn’t listening. In fact, he wasn’t even looking at my face as I spoke; he was looking down at… my breast? His solid gaze at my cleavage made me grow incredibly conscious, and instantly I wrapped my hand around my chest, covering the rev

Tessa’s POV:Dress the way you want to be addressed. It’s a saying that has been proven right over and over again throughout the decades. If I wanted to start getting addressed as an alpha’s wife, I had to start dressing like one.My eyes shifted to the tall plywood wardrobe nested at the other end of the room beside the window. I wasn’t sure I would find anything inside to wear, but still I decided to try either way. Half expectantly, I walked up to the wide container and swung it open. A burst of a variety of different colorful dresses greeted me as they hung from the wardrobe extension. How were there so many dresses already arranged inside the wardrobe? It was either this was someone else’s clothes or the wardrobe was arranged beforehand. My heart stopped pumping blood for a minute. If these were someone else’s clothes, the only person coming to mind was… Tori.My hands grazed over the fabric of the clothes and halted when I reached a red dress. I pulled out the dress from the h

  • Her Choice To Make    Chapter Fourteen

Tessa’s POV:The introduction ceremony yesterday went smoothly after Tori’s dramatic appearance. I don’t think I would enjoy the ceremony half as much as I did. There was dancing, a round-up introduction of the pack members: the beta, omega, and every other position. The food was also amazing.I woke up this morning with the intention of sightseeing the estate. Since I came, I have only seen inside the house and the garden. Amelia and the girls told me there was still so much to see and do and that I wouldn’t get bored for even a day.I have formed a sort of bond between Amelia, Grace, Lily, and Kate. We all were gathered in my room this morning, gisting as they made the bed and cleaned the room. I had quickly used that opportunity to learn more about Tori’s and Lucian’s relationship.“Yeah, they were in a serious relationship back then, and everyone thought they would eventually get married.” Grace said, dusting the window bar with a cloth.“So what happened?” I replied, my curiosity

  • Her Choice To Make    Chapter Twelve

Tessa’s POV:I woke up to the early morning sunlight rays streaming through the open window. I raised my head from the side of the bed where I lay beside Lucian, who was still sleeping, observing his bandaged lower abdomen.Boyd and Felix had fortunately found us last night in the woods. Apparently as a result of failing to keep watch over me, Lucian had punished them, but Olivia had given them the opportunity to reduce their punishment by coming to find us.I stayed with Lucian in his room the whole night while they treated his wound till daybreak. Even when the pack’s doctor advised me to go to rest as I was also involved in the traumatic ordeal, I refused.I rubbed my hand against the woolen bandage, memories of Lucian diving in front of me to block the arrow. He literally put his life on the line for me, but I didn’t understand why. “Why did you do it?” I muttered, my voice barely above a whisper. All this talk of me being his bride. I had seen it as mere absurdity, but the fact

Lucian’s POV:“You know each other?” Tessa looked from me to the opposing man, a confused look spread on her face.I flashed a confused look at the man holding an arrow straight to my face. It was now I was just seeing his face clearly under the flickering yellow lamp. My lips twitched with shock at the realization of who this man was.“Isaac?” I was dumbfounded.“In the flesh.” He smirked, the claw mark on his cheek contracting slightly. The claw mark that I gave him during our last fight.Isaac used to be part of the Bloodmoon pack, my pack. But after the day I was cursed by… after the curse locked my ability to be able to stay shifted in my wolf form for long. Some people saw it as an opportunity to take over my position as lycan king. One of those people who saw my curse as my biggest weakness and the perfect opportunity to strike was Isaac, a former beta. He had secretly plotted to get me poisoned. Normally the poison wouldn’t really affect me because I would shift to my wolf for
