Chapter 30 - Katie

Jenny hasn’t stopped smiling since yesterday when we asked her to be in my wedding. This is exactly what she needs. She has been so down in the dumps since her mother works so much, and she is often in her room all alone. I have asked some volunteers to come and spend the day with her, so she isn’t so lonely, but I’m not sure if it is working.

But now she is practically glowing and her eyes sparkle. I never thought the idea of being a flower girl would have this kind of effect on her. I think this is helping more than the medicine is.

As I put Jenny’s chart to the side and look through some ones, Brenda peeks her head into my office. “Dr. Katie, do you have a few minutes?”

I smile as I look up at her. “Sure. What’s up?”

She steps into my office carrying a folder, which I recognize as the folder she is using to keep all my wedding stuff in.

She takes a seat in front of my desk and opens her folder, quickly scanning down her list of to-do items. “I hear you haven’t picked out
