I couldn’t help the chuckle that left me when Axel singed Aunt Marie’s fur. The growl she gave him really did cheer me up. I could feel his hesitation about being near me, but truthfully, I was grateful he hadn’t left my side. As much as I’d hated to admit it, I felt safer with him. Everything moved so quickly, more and more portals began to open allowing more wolves to enter. We were surrounded.
