“Is she okay?” Jenny asked Cara as she wiped her nose with a tissue. We were all in Jenny’s house and I was pacing in her bedroom back and forth, thinking of a way to get back at him. I let out a huge sigh and sat down on the bed facing her. “I’m so sorry, Jenny. We were supposed to cheer you up but my mood is completed ruined by a dick head. I want to kill him.” “Tyler Cummings, right?” she asked and I gave her a puzzled look, wondering how she knew it was him when she didn’t even come to school today. I noticed Cara signalling towards Jenny with her eyes and I couldn’t understand what the hell was going on. “Okay, first of all, how do you know and what is going on, Cara?” “Please don’t get mad but someone recorded the whole thing and it’s on i*******m now.” Mandy explained and I think I went pale. No way! I grabbed my phone quickly and checked out my i*******m to find the entire school share and commenting and some even tagging me on the video where I got humiliated by Tyler Cummings. Weirdly, I was gaining more followers but that didn’t help with the amount of rage I was feeling right now. This can’t be happening. “Oh my God! I’m screwed. I want to murder him with my own hands. Do you guys know anything about him?” I asked the gang and everyone shook her head except Cara. “He was a transfer student last year and I know he lives with his mom and dad two streets away from your house,” “How do you know all this?” I asked, eyeing her suspiciously. “I have my own connections.” She added with a small shrug and I let out a loud groan, thinking about going to school tomorrow. “Everyone is going to laugh at me tomorrow. It was an honest mistake but he made it seem as if I was some self-centred bitch.” “Forgot about him, Chloe. He will probably come around and apologize to you tomorrow.” Mandy tried to console me but I wasn’t convinced. “I’ll make him apologize to me somehow.” I said in a determined voice and let out a huge breath. We hung out at Jenny’s place for an hour and made sure she was feeling better before we left. When I reached home, I was once again greeted by an empty living room and Mary was nowhere in sight. “Mary, are you there?” I called out but heard no response in return. I walked inside the kitchen and found a note stuck on the refrigerator. ‘Went out for gorcery shopping. Will be home soon.’ - Mary I smiled at the note and went upstairs to my room to change into my SpongeBob PJ’s. After studying for a bit, I decided to take a break and grabbed my laptop. I tried my best to ignore all the notifications I received on I*******m as I didn’t have the heart to look at it. I noticed that only I was tagged in all of the videos and not him. Out of curiosity, I searched for his name and got no results on I*******m. Weird. It was the same on F******k and G****e as well. He had no social media presence at all and continued to remain a mystery to me. Who the hell are you Tyler Cummings?! I quit stalking him like an obsessive bitch and continued focus on my work which wasn’t successful either as my mind was formulating all the possible scenarios that could happen tomorrow at school. Am I not cool anymore? What if people tease me and I’m not the popular one anymore?! Would Tyler White be interested in me after what happened today? “Chloe, come and have dinner.” I heard Mary’s loud voice from downstairs which distracted me from overthinking any further. “Coming, Mary.” I called out and stood up from my bed to head downstairs. The next day when I reached school with my friends, I could see people staring at me and some even laughing and whispering among themselves. It wasn’t even that bad to think about. These people have nothing interesting enough to gossip I guess. “Ugh! Get over it already.” I yelled loud enough for everyone to hear as I walked inside. “Don’t mind them, Chloe.” Jenny rubbed my arm in a comforting manner and I noticed Tyler White, standing in front of his locker. “Oh God! Screw the note. Do you think he will say yes if I ask him out now?” “Of course he will. Go ahead and ask him,” Cara nudged me forward and I took a deep breath before walking towards him. I flipped my hair and plastered a huge smile on my face. “Hey Tyler,” “Chloe Adams, are you sure you got the right Tyler this time?” he teased and I mentally groaned in embarrassment. “Because of what happened yesterday, I get it.” I let out a nervous chuckle and he tried so hard not to laugh. “It’s all cool but I didn’t get the note either.” He confirmed the question that had been running in my mind since last evening. “Forget the note. Umm...I just wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out with me sometime,” I blurted out and kept chewing on my bottom lip, waiting for his response but he remained silent for a few seconds. Oh my God! What happened to me? Two consecutive humiliations! “I’m sorry. I knew this was a bad idea..” I was about to turn around and walk away. “It’s not you, Chloe. I just got back with Emma last night. I’m really so sorry.” He looked really apologetic and I appreciated his honesty. I didn’t feel hurt or anything even though I wanted to go out with him. That’s when it struck me. I hardly knew this guy and I asked him out just because he was cute. Maybe I shouldn’t jump into another relationship just because I’m single. “I’m glad you got back with Emma. No hard feelings, Ty.” I gave him a huge grin and walked back to join my friends. “So, what happened?” Mandy was the first one to ask. “He turned me down.” “What?” All three of them asked in unison and I rolled my eyes at their obvious response. “Yeah, because he got back with his ex. It’s totally fine.” I shrugged and started to get my stuff from the locker. “Are you okay with it?” Jenny asked in a concerned voice, assuming that I would be hurt. “Surprisingly, yes. Let’s get moving now.” “Well, I’m glad no one witnessed him turning you down or you would have gone viral all over again.” Cara spoke as we walked towards my math class. “What is that supposed to mean, Cara?” I asked as we stopped in front of my class. I was clearly annoyed by tone in which she spoke. “Nothing. Absolutely nothing.” “Good because you are free to leave this groul anytime you want if you think I’m ruining your reputation,” I snapped angrily and walked inside the class without waiting for her reply. Mandy followed me inside right behind. “Jeez! That was harsh, Chloe.” “She had been getting on my nerves since yesterday.” “I know. I’ll talk to her.” “Ms. Adams, in the front.” Mr. Glassman pointed to an empty seat which was unfortunately next to the guy who embarrassed me in front of the entire school. “I’m more comfortable back over there, Mr. Glassman.” “Comfortable talking with Ms. Cooper, I presume. Stop sulking and sit down, Ms. Adams.” He looked like he wasn’t going to take no for an answer so I took a deep breath and placed my book the desk. “Unbelievable.” I mumbled under my breath and sat down next to Tyler Cummings. I peered at him from the corner of my eyes. He was wearing a grey oversized hoodie as usual along with his glasses and his hair was a messy and I noticed that it was pretty long, curling up around the nape of his neck. Once the final bell rang, the class began and he seemed to hardly acknowledge my presence which should have been a good thing but it pissed me off further. I wanted him to apologise to me but he was acting as if he had no idea that I was sitting next to me. “Can someone tell me the value of cos 360°?” “1.” I blurted out immediately as I knew the answer and heard him snort beside me. “Show-off.” He muttered loud enough for me to hear and I realised that he was well aware of my presence next to him. I gave him a murderous glare but remained silent as I didn’t want to draw any unnecessary attention towards me. “Very good, Ms. Adams.” Mr. Glassman appreciated me but I was pissed at a certain someone who was sitting beside me to even enjoy it. After a while, I heard something fall off from his desk and looked down to see a pencil near my leg. I resumed my work and pretended as if I didn’t notice it. “Are you going to get that or not?” he asked in an annoyed tone and I finally looked up from my book to meet his gaze. I smirked, kicking the pencil further away from me and noticed him clenching his fist in anger. “Pick it up if it want.” Two can play this game. After a few seconds, I felt him kick my leg and I let out a loud gasp. “Ow! Did you just kick my leg?” I burst out angrily and kicked him back forcefully. “Jesus Christ!” He hissed in pain and tried to push my things off my desk and that was when I noticed that the entire class had gone silent and every pair of eyes were on us. Fuck! We were acting like children. “Both of you, out of my class and detention after school.” Mr. Glassman roared angrily, looking down at both of us and he had a disappointed look on his face as I walked past him which was even more worse. I got sent out of his class twice which was not a good sign and the last thing I wanted in my final year was a detention. All because of him. “You!” I pointed my finger at him as he walked outside the class behind me. “You have no idea what I am capable of so you better apologize to me right now so that we can end this little fued.” He came a little closer towards me, taking me off guard and I stumbled backwards a little bit. “And you also have no idea what I am capable of, Chloe Adams.” He whispered in a dangerously low tone which I would have found attractive on anyone else but not him. Never him! “Oh yeah! Let’s see what you’ve got, dickhead.” I spat at him and noticed his lips curve into a devilish grin. “You have no idea what you’re asking for, princess.” He stepped even more closer and it was hard for me look at his eyes past his glasses but I got a whiff of his colonge which distracted me momentarily. Since when did nerds started to smell good! “Game on, Tyler.” I smirked in response and walked away from him before he could respond.
I was the first one to arrive at the library for our detention and it was almost deserted since it was after school hours. Mr. Glassman had asked us to dust and re-arrange the books which has been misplaced by the students all week. To be honest, I wasn’t angry with the detention as I loved to organise things. I feared that it could be worse from all the rumours that I heard from my friends but I guess I was lucky. I took a deep breath, placed my bag on one of the empty seats and rolled up the sleeves of my sweatshirt. “I better finish this before he arrives.” I muttered under my breath and started to work. I wore my airpods and continued to work while listening to music as it always helps me to get the work done faster than expected. After a few minutes, I felt someone’s presence behind me which made me shiver in response. I removed the airpods and before I could turn, I heard him speak. “Need some help, Princess?” Tyler asked in a low husky voice which gave me a weird feeling that
"Chloe, are you sure about this?" Mandy asked with her phone in her hand, waiting for my approval. "Come on, he deserves it." Cara pitched on behalf of me while I remained silent, imagining the look of humilation on his face at school tomorrow."This is silly, guys. He is not even worth our time." Jenny suggested while painting a new coat of nail polish on her nails and I stood up from my bed with my phone in hand."Trust me, you would have done worse if you had been in the library. He is freaking dangerous, Jenny and I'm about to show him that I'm more evil and dangerous." I spoke with determination and looked at Cara and Mandy. "Do it, girls." I gave them an evil smile and turned to look at myself in the mirror. "This is going to be fun. He is going to regret messing with me." I spoke through gritted teeth and let out a huge breath. "Oh my God, it's only been a minute and look at the amount of likes and shares." "Holy Fuck! Chloe, I can't tell if you're pure evil or pure genius
“I can’t believe he kissed you in front of the whole school. Why didn’t you push him away?” Cara asked, scrolling through her instagram which was filled with the stories of him kissing me today at school.Because I liked it.I wanted to say but I was too proud to admit it.“It was the hangover, Cara. Just let it go, okay. I wasn’t thinking straight.” I muttered under my breath and ran a brush through my hair. We were back at my home as usual but we were getting ready for the party that Jenny was hosting at her house since her parents were away for the weekend.“God, please don’t tell me you enjoyed it. He is such a dork.” Mandy added, straightening her hair in front of the mirror and I hid my frown from her.As much as I tried to ignore his stupid kiss and wanted to think about another way to get back at him, I couldn’t get it out of my head at all. I could still feel the way his lips brushed against mine and the taste of him, minty with the essence of apples and his annoyingly addict
“Yes, me.” Tyler cleared his throat and wore his glasses properly while I scanned him from top to bottom to check if he was hurt anywhere. Even if he was my enemy, I didn’t want him to be physically hurt.“What the hell are you doing here? You look fine by the way. I was really scared for a second out there.” I muttered, placing my hand on the car door for support as I was feeling a bit dizzy.“Why, thank you. Do you run over all your enemies with your car, Ms. Adams?” he asked, clearly enjoying my misery and continued after taking a good look at me, “Drunk and driving. This is so good. Imagine what I can do to you right now with just a single phone call,” He added with an evil look in his eyes and I was started to get pissed off by him.“Shut up, you jerk. I’m still not over what you did today.” I walked towards him angrily and he gave me a slight smirk, his eyes flickering down to my lips momentarily.“Well, I can’t kiss you again just because you are not over it, princess. I was ki
"Jesus Christ, where were you? And what the hell happened to your phone?" Mary attacked me as soon as I entered the living room, looking like a mess."Relax, Mary. I'm fine. I slept over at a friend's house and before you could assume anything, it wasn't like that. I went to this stupid party and got drunk and passed out." I explained, skipping the part where I almost killed Tyler. I sank on the couch and placed my purse on the coffee table. She gave me concerned look, running her eyes all over my body to see if I was indeed okay. "Your friends were trying to reach out to you via the landline and I was really scared. If you hadn't showed up in another ten minutes, I would have called your dad." She shook her head in disapproval and disappeared inside the kitchen again. "Like he would care," I muttered, rolling my eyes and pulled out my phone to text my friends to tell them that I was home safe and sound. I knew they must have a lot of questions from last night but I was too tired to
"Wow, so you have to work with him for this fundraiser?" Mandy shrieked out as if it was the most horrible thing she has heard in her entire life and it only made me feel worse. We were back at my house, just chilling and doing absolutely nothing. Cara and Jenny were out on dates and even though I didn't mind it that much, a part of me was slightly jealous that I was single. I've never been single and it felt weird to be spending time all by myself these days."Yeah, it's so annoying and I have no choice. You guys gave me a really stupid idea. Now, I bet he will tell Principal Brown if I don't work with him." I whined, getting up from the bed and walked towards the dressing table."Dammit, does he like you or something? Is that why he is trying to spend more time with you?" Mandy asked with a puzzled look on her face and I was glad that she was actually concerned about me. Cara and Jenny always think about themselves first but not Mandy. I could always count on her. "Come on, Mandy. I
"What the hell are you doing here?" Tyler asked, making me stand up hastily from my seat causing Mandy to wake up in an instant. I straighten up my skirt, giving him a bored look but secretly felt happy that he heard me calling him dumb."Relax, you are not someone I would stalk. I was just helping Mandy with babysitting." I glanced at Lily who gave me a sly smile and I winked at her in response. She was a cute little thing unlike her brother. "Uhhh...yeah. I guess we can leave now since you are here, Tyler." Mandy nudged me and I let out a huge sigh and shrugged in response as I collected my things. "Wait!" Tyler stopped us and I looked up at him properly this time. He was wearing a plain white t-shirt and a pair of cargo pants that was hanging loosely around his waist. He actually looked pretty good if I were to ignore his glasses. Did he actually go to a party?I wanted to ask him but then I realised that it was none of my business. I should probably shut my mouth and just leav
Once I reached home, I changed into my PJ's and laid back on the bed, thinking about everything that happened in the evening. I was still angry that he shut me out after almost kissing me and it kept me thinking about what he said. Why can't I think about other guys? I was pretty and single and any guy would die to be my boyfriend. I got a text from Mandy which interrupted my thoughts instantly. 'What happened? Did you get home safe?' -Mandy.'Yeah, babe. Thanks for looking out.'I hit send and opened our group chat. It was time to find myself a fake boyfriend to prove Tyler that I wasn't hung up on his like a sex starved teenager. 'Girls, I need a fake boyfriend ASAP.' I immediately got three replies which made me laugh. 'What is going on?'- Jenny.'Say no more.' - Cara.'Why?'- Mandy. Sometimes I liked Cara when she agrees to do crazy things like this without any reason so I decided to leave it to her. 'I'll explain everything at school tomorrow.' I was about to shut my pho
