24: D-DAY

" Joan" She was startled awake by a light whisper, which turned out to be the voice of her friend Della.

Her eyes lit up with joy as she raised herself and sat comfortably on the hospital bed. She was surprised that Della entered the ward despite the hundreds of reporters who were waiting outside even though it was late.

"Let us go quickly," Della urged, assisting Joan in removing the cannula and placing sterile cotton wool on the area. Della hurriedly packed Joan's belongings into her bag and helped her up.

Impatiently, they ran out of the ward through the back door and gently walked towards the emergency exit, but when they arrived, the door was locked with a large padlock, causing both of them to curse in frustration.
