JAXSON

The cuffs bit into my wrists and the metal vibrating at the other end felt like a fist around my guts. I stood there with my shoulders pressed up against the cold pillar, trying to breathe slowly. My hands were useless. My mouth tasted like copper. Watching Tessa get hit had hollowed something out of me I couldn’t name.

I had thought about using the gun when I pulled up. Hell, I had held it under my jacket and felt its weight like an answer. Then I saw the room, too many men, too tight a space, her tied up like some ugly prize and I swallowed the impulse. One wrong move and they’d make her pay. That thought stayed with me, colder than anything else. So I didn’t draw.

Before I walked in I’d texted Ryder the location. I didn’t want his help, not really, but I wasn’t stupid: this was bigger than one man. I hit send with a thumb that trembled and told myself he’d be there any second. Minutes ground by and my phone stayed quiet — goddamn it. Of all the times to make me wait.

  • His Biker Girl, Her Biker Prince.   Chapter 125

TESSAA week later, Jaxson told me he had a surprise for me.He said it casually, like it wasn’t something that had clearly been sitting in his chest all day. We were in the car, late evening, the city lights sliding past us, and he kept glancing at me like he was checking to see if I was still there. Like I might disappear if he didn’t look often enough.I didn’t ask questions. I’d learned that some moments are better when you let them unfold on their own.He drove out of the city, further than I expected. The roads emptied, the noise faded, and eventually we pulled into a quiet stretch of expressway. Empty. Still. The kind of place where your thoughts get louder if you let them. When I stepped out of the car, I saw them. Two bikes.Parked side by side. Waiting. My breath caught so hard it felt like it punched the air out of my lungs. I didn’t move. I couldn’t. My body remembered before my mind could catch up. The weight of a helmet. The way a bike hums beneath you. The freedom. The

A few weeks ago, I asked Adeline what kind of party she thought someone should throw in London. She listed a few ideas casually—house parties, rooftop dinners, themed nights—but only one caught my attention.A masquerade ball. And I told her that Jaxson’s birthday party is in three weeks and I would love to surprise him with a grand birthday party. I was so excited to plan this party, and with Adrian and Alexander’s help, Adeline and I were able to put everything together. It was finally the day and everything had been prepared. I also secretly invited Jaxson’s family. Ryder, Cole, and Nova. They will arrive before the party tonight.I already bought a pair of suits for him and I couldn't be more excited. Jaxson has done so many things for me that I couldn't pay back. But I wanted to make his birthday special.I wished him a happy birthday with a kiss this morning before Adrian and Alexander dragged him out, to keep him away. Now the time had come and they returned. I took Jaxson to m

Time moved faster than I expected. The months after New York didn’t arrive loudly. They didn’t announce themselves with big moments or dramatic shifts. They came quietly, one day folding into the next, until I woke up one morning and realized my life no longer felt like something I was just surviving. It felt like something I was living.Nova became my constant again—not in the way we used to be, when everything was tangled and intense, but in a steadier way that felt earned. We talked every day.Sometimes it was long video calls that lasted until one of us fell asleep mid-sentence. Other times it was quick voice notes sent while brushing teeth or walking to class. There were days she’d send me ten messages in a row, all unrelated, and days where she’d just send a single “You alive?” and somehow that was enough. She told me everything.About school. About small annoyances. About moments that reminded her of me. Sometimes she’d complain just to hear me laugh. Sometimes she didn’t say m

The moment we stepped inside, my heart started beating faster. Not because anything felt wrong—but because everything felt important.Mrs. Gates was the first to notice us. Her face lit up the way it always did when she saw me, and something in my chest twisted painfully at how easy that smile came. How freely she gave it.“Tessa,” she said warmly, already moving toward me.She pulled me into a hug before I could say anything, and for half a second, I almost broke. Almost let fear steal my voice and send me running again. But I held it together, hugging her back, breathing through the tightness in my throat.“You look well,” she said softly, pulling back to look at me properly.I nodded. “I am.”Mr. Gates joined us, placing a hand on my shoulder in that quiet, steady way of his. “It’s good to see you, sweetheart.”Sweetheart.The word landed heavier than it should have.Jaxson stood beside me, respectful, calm, letting me take the lead. I reached for his hand without thinking, groundi

  • His Biker Girl, Her Biker Prince.   Chapter 121

It has been a great week.It has been steady, soft, and great. The kind of great that sneaks up on you when you realize you haven’t been thinking too much in days. When your chest doesn’t feel tight every morning. When sleep comes without effort. For once, love didn’t feel like something I had to fight for or cling to. It didn’t feel sharp or consuming or desperate. Love had always felt like something I had to protect with my whole body. Like if I relaxed for even a second, it would slip through my fingers. But now, I didn’t feel like I was guarding anything. I felt like I was standing on steady ground. We spent the week learning each other again, slowly. Not rehashing the past, not reopening wounds that were still tender, but building something new on top of the ruins. Something quiet. Something solid. He let me talk when I wanted to talk, and when I didn’t, he let silence sit between us without filling it with forced words. Some nights we lay side by side, not touching, just breathi

  • His Biker Girl, Her Biker Prince.   Chapter 120

It was Sunday morning. That quiet kind of morning where everything felt slow and heavy like the world knew we were leaving.I sat on the edge of the bed, my suitcase already zipped, my hands resting on top of it like if I let go, everything would unravel again. Jaxson stood by the window, phone in his hand, staring at nothing. We didn’t talk much. We didn’t need to. New York still held pieces of me. Pieces of us.But London was where I was learning how to breathe again. When we walked downstairs, Ryder and Cole were already there. Nova sat on the arm of the couch, legs crossed, pretending to scroll through her phone but very obviously watching me.“So,” Ryder said, breaking the silence, “you’re really leaving.”I nodded. My throat felt tight, but I didn’t look away. I wasn’t running this time. “Yeah.”Jaxson stepped closer to me, his arm brushing mine. “I have already transferred to King’s College. It’s done. And Tessa… She has already built something there. A life. A family.”Cole s
