It took Declan two days and nights to put a plan in place, assigning Elian of house Halan his previous commander to take his stead. It took Layana a few seconds to realise what was happening, her eyes widened as she pushed him away, her eyes flashing as she raised her hand and slapped him across the face. Several nights had passed and the mood of the group travelling had become more sombre. The warmth of summer that they had disliked had depleted, leaving shadow cast mornings accompanied by dull weather daily.
