Chapter 15

I felt much better the next day, thanks to the medicine the healer gave me at the infirmary. The pain has reduced and my head no longer hurts. I stepped into the hallway striding slowly to go new Eliana. She had sent a girl to fetch me.

I passed the big room at the center of the castle where all the floors were connected by a long flight of stairs. Linda was just coming firm the stairs with a bucket and broom in her hands. She looked so worn out and exhausted that I almost pitied her, almost. I continued, walking past the large room before she could notice me.

Eliana was standing outside with a small flower vase in her hand.

“Jade, how are you feeling today dear?” Her tone was soft as usual.

“I’m much better Eliana, how are you?”

“I’m good too” She nodded, her eyes returning to the vase she was holding as she studied it closely.

“That’s pretty,” I said, studying the light brown flowery vase too.

“You think? I thought it was at first too, but it doesn’t look that fine to me anymore” s
