She marched out of the classroom only to bump into Dave and losing her balance for a moment. He gripped her arm to steady her but let go immediately.

"You okay?" he asked, moving away to create enough distance between them. She nodded absently without lifting her tear-soaked face and walked past him. Dave gazed after her, sensing his friend had fucked up again. With a heavy sigh, he turned and walked into the class. There he was, facing the window, his shoulders rigid with tension. Dave approached him.

"She was crying. You hurt her again, didn't you?" Dave asked, already knowing the answer.

Nate was seething in fury too. Eyes shooting daggers at the window under furrowed brows, jaw firmly set, lips twisted into a scowl. Dave wondered what the hell had transpired here.

"She rejected my reward," Nate answered through gritted teeth. How dare she denied him? He was going to teach her a good lesson for this. Dave's gaze dropped to the broken pendant lying on the floor and realisation f

  • His Innocent Sera   Caged Again

The world came to a standstill as she locked eyes with him—the same eyes that had stalked her through every nightmare. She froze, her heart slowed down, gradually collapsing under the devastating realisation, and her face lost its color. He was here. He found her. He caught her. And as if fate directed, her gaze flickered to the prominent scar marring his cheek, causing a shadow of recognition to enter her eyes. She had struck him at the same spot nine years ago. Haunting memories hit her hard and fast. A thin layer of tears claimed her eyes as panic settled in. Her slow heart suddenly jolted into a frenzied rhythm, pounding so hard it made her head reel. Her instinct to escape surged forward. Despite her vision blurring, she made a weak attempt to push him off, but his ironclad hold around her refused to give way. He was standing too close, stealing her sky, blocking the rain from reaching her. She wanted to fight his grip, but then her body sank, eyes falling close as she fain

She packed all the essentials in her bag and headed out. They were going to perform at a charity event for blind institutions. The rumbling of the clouds caught her attention as she stepped out of her building. The woman glanced up to see large chunks of clouds drifting and merging in the sky. It probably was going to rain. But she couldn't say it with certainty. The weather here was unpredictable. She visited her nearby church like always before setting out for work. Her relationship with God had strengthened all these years—her only constant. Today felt different, and she wasn't sure why. Something strange stirred the air of London. She couldn't name what it was, but it felt eerily familiar. After offering her prayer, she took the bus to her academy, and from there she left for the venue with her group. The event was happening in an open area. The event was about to start soon. She changed into her outfit, a strange feeling lingering with her the entire time. Their performance

  • His Innocent Sera   Lost But Not Found

"Dyson Diaz," Sera asked hopefully. The man's eyes moved slowly over the list. "We do have one Dyson, but he is not Diaz," the man replied, looking up. A familiar weight of disappointment burdened her heart. "Can I see him?" Sera questioned, pushing aside her disappointment. The man gave a brief nod and called out a name. Moments later, a boy, probably in his early twenties, entered through the door. The man instructed him to bring Dyson over. The boy gave a quick nod and left without a word. The man brought his attention back to Sera, his eyes slightly narrowing. "Why are you wearing a mask, Miss Sophia?" he questioned. On instinct, Sera adjusted her already well-placed mask, feeling caught. "I am allergic to dust," she lied. Nine years and, her heart still stuttered every time she lied. She was in hiding, and each day was a reminder of that. From her name to her identity, everything was a carefully constructed lie. The man nodded, having bought the lie. Just then, a lanky man

  • His Innocent Sera   Hurt And Resentment

He slipped off his jacket, his gaze absently drifting towards the table clock. That perpetual dull ache in his heart intensified as he noticed the date. Another day without her. Nine years had gone by. She was still out of his sight. Out of his reach. He pushed through the pain and exhaustion, trained relentlessly each day, every waking moment. His every breath tightknitted with the vow to claim the throne and assume the power he was born to possess. Over the years, he sculpted himself into the deserving heir of Italy's throne. But his hunger for power wasn't the drive anymore. What drove him now was a desperate, unyielding need to find her. To see her. And his child. He knew his dad wouldn't help him, he had to do it himself. And for that, he needed power, lots of power. He took his clothes off, muscles flexing with each movement, and walked into the shower. The droplets hit his skin, kissing the hard edges of his ripped muscles. The shiny marble covering the wall reflected his f

  • His Innocent Sera   Leap Of Despair

NINE YEARS LATERThe skyscrapers of Italy lined the horizon, challenging the birds' sovereign claim to the sky. Ambition carved in steel and glass, those shimmering buildings stood tall as a testament to their owner's power and force. The shadow they casted over the city wasn't just physical. It was an inspiring sight- the one that would make a dreamer dream bigger, a hustler grind harder, a conqueror reach for higher. And amidst this city of power and influence, his building soared above the rest, not merely challenging but owning the sky. "Nate, Erlando is here," Dave announced. Nate looked away from the view and turned around to face Dave, who stood waiting for his response. Dave had grown accustomed to his cold, unfeeling eyes now. The only spark ever lit them was pure, seething rage, that too was a rare occurrence. It was as though she had shut off every emotion in him before leaving. If he was bad before, he was now something far more terrifying. "Bring him inside," Nate said,

  • His Innocent Sera   She Left

Nate woke up to incoherent murmurs. The second thing to register was the excruciating pain hammering his head. Then, a hand found his forehead, caressing it with familiar gentleness. He recognized it immediately. His mom. "He is waking up," he heard his mom say, her voice croaky but tinged with hope. His eyes fluttered open to find his mom leaning over him, her eyes glossy. "Mom," he murmured, as the haze in his vision slowly sharpened into clarity. Her lips curved into a gentle smile, a sense of relief flicker through her features. "I am right here," she replied, her hand resting tenderly on his head. Nate met her eyes briefly before his gaze shifted, searching the space around them. The room was empty except for Killian, who was seated silently beside Ara. A sinking feeling that he might have already lost her settled in his stomach. "Where is she?" he demanded, eyes locked on his dad. "Don't exert yourself, Nate. Rest a little. You need it," Ara intervened, dodging his q

"Let go," Sera seethed as Nate spun them around with all his strength. In their tussle, the stand slipped out of her hand, hitting the floor with a loud thud. "You're not leaving me. Not now. Not ever," Nate declared, forcefully hugging her and pressing her flush against him, his blood staining them both. Hell will freeze over before he lets her go. He'll fight his ownself if he has to, but she wasn't leaving him. "I'd rather die than be your wife," Sera hissed, venom lacing her words. Then, with all the fury she could summon, she drove her knee into his groin, making him double over. Seizing the opportunity, she backed away. Nate ignored the pain and dragged himself towards her. "Don't go," Nate pleaded, staggering towards her despite the pain twisting every inch of him. "Don't come closer," she warned, her gaze flickering over his shoulder, towards the door. He looked scary. Blood had painted his features crimson, his eyes wild with madness, and his strides slow but determined

  • His Innocent Sera   Wedding Bells

How earnestly she hoped for all this to be a nightmare. But it was no nightmare. It was her reality. Her rotten fate. She willed for the time to halt, but it marched on, apathetic to her sufferings. Strolling over, she picked up the gown with reluctance and put it on. After donning the dress, she stood before the mirror. Dull blue eyes stared back, hollow and shadowed by misery. Though happiness remained a stranger to her, pain had long found a home in her. She reckoned this feeling of helplessness was going to be her constant companion from now on. Her gaze flickered to her stomach, beneath which a life was taking root. She couldn't feel the baby yet, but its presence pressed heavily on her. A few hours until she'd lose herself completely to his whim. The realisation was unsettling. Chilling. Every night, she'll have to endure his animalistic hunger, every day she'll have to follow him like a slave. This marriage will bind her to him forever with no escape, no mercy. Only the slow

  • His Innocent Sera   Possession

Nate returned in the evening, calmer and cooler. After venting his anger in the ring, his mind was finally clear to conceive rational thoughts. He realised not everything can be achieved by force. This situation called for a gentler approach. He decided to speak with Sera again. This time, he will keep his anger in check. He frowned at the sight of the open door. How many times had he told her to keep the door locked, but she just wouldn't listen. As he approached the apartment, his ears picked up on incoherent murmurs, causing his frown to deepen. Then he heard it. A man’s voice. Inside. And that’s when he lost it.Come with meHe overheard. Muscles coiled, veins constricted— a murderous rage exploded within him, turning his vision red. He charged inside, grabbed the vase from the table, and smashed it over his head. Sera scrambled away, screaming, eyes wide in horror. Mr. Jang staggered, clutching his bleeding head as he turned. His gaze locked on Nate, eyes flaring, caught betwee
