Lyra’s POV

“Yes, shame,” he responded. Looking devoid of emotion as usual.

“I don’t understand what you mean, my alpha,” I remarked. He got up in a rage and threw the table aside.

“Do you take me for a fool?! You think I’m stupid? Don’t play dumb with me,” the rage in his voice increased.

“I don’t understand what you mean.” Tears started falling down my face as I picked up the shards of the broken mug.

What was he talking about? Did Athena say something about me again? Just when I was about to ask, a guard barged into the room suddenly.

“My alpha, the elders are here. It’s urgent, sir; they await you in the conference room,” the guard reported, bowing his head to the ground. The alpha looked more infuriated by this information.

“What do they want?!” he yelled at the guard. The veins on his forehead and neck were all visible due to the rage he was giving off.
