'What are you doing?' she asked, wondering why her heart was beating so fast. 'What does it look like?' he asked advancing towards her and finally backing her to the wall. 'I.. I don't know', she stammered. She who feared no one was suddenly very nervous and unsure. Why was he having such an unsettling effect on her? she wondered. Yet her body trembled with excitement. 'But you know you want me badly?' he asked, a slow dangerous smile playing around his lips, belting the desire that darkened his eyes. How did he know that? She thought she had done a great job of hiding it. 'I can smell it all over you', he said huskily as he deliberately moved his hand to her neck to draw her lips closer, while raising both her hands above her head with the other hand. 'Rest assured, I feel exactly the same way', he said, dipping his head and capturing her lips. 'Hmmm', she moaned. That was not the answer she was expecting but it would suffice for now. She had to assuage the hunger ravaging her body, driving her insane. If he really felt the same way she felt, love wasn't too farfetvhed, or was it? ***** Alpha Diana was kniwn as the Masked Alpha, a strong and formidable force to be reckoned with. 'Alpha', Sabrina, my Beta, called, 'You have always kept your identity a secret and even the people of the pack have never seen your true face, except for me of course, so why do you want to go in search of that person?' she asked. 'The messages and mind links I have been receiving from him calls out to me', I replied, looking into space, my brows furrowed in thought. It had started two years ago. At first I had tried to ignore it. Sure, I didn't know the person sending such meaningless mind links to me, and from the tone, it was obvious, the sender expected no response, so I couldn't be bothered with it. But soon, I started looking forward to it and missing them when they didn't come. The urge to meet with the sender had overridden common sense and now, I was going in search of him. I felt it was my responsibility to help him heal. 'I shall be gone for just a couple of days', I said to Beta Sabrina. 'As soon as I make contact with him and come up with a way to help him, I shall come right back', I promised. 'A couple of days, huh?' Sabrina Fox said. 'Recall that the Pack is dependent on you!' 'Have I not left you for a longer period to manage the pack in my absence in the past?' I asked. 'Yes, but I have a premonition concerning this particular trip', Beta Sabrina voiced. 'Oh, stop making a fuss about nothing', I replied, hoping my words and smile would help dispel Sabrina's fears. 'Except for you, no one else knows my true face. So, there's no way an attack can be staged against me, if I am perceived to be a nobody, right?' Sabrina looked at me and I expected her to return my smile but she didn't but continued to look at me for a while longer. Just when I grew tired of smiling, she sighed. She must have decided to trust that I'd be able to take care of myself. And why not, hadn't I been the one fighting the other packs that waged war against the Twilight Pack, my pack and now there was relative peace and most of the Alphas who had looked down on a female Alpha now tremble in fear before me. Even the elders in my pack who had insisted that a female Alpha had nothing to offer, a masked one at that, and hence could not lead the pack had since changed their minds and now heed her every word and suggestion for the development of the pack. 'Right!' Sabrina replied, at long last in response to my question. 'But at least let me send some warriors with you', she suggested. 'Remember I am going unmasked, like any ordinary werewolf', I pointed out. 'Sending warriors with me will only be revealing my identity to them and putting them at risk', I said, as I took my short dagger and hid it in my plain dress, ready to make my way out. 'Put on this cloak, you can discard it when you are far away from the Pack', Sabrina advised and I smiled my thanks and approval. Taking the cloak, I left the castle through a secret door known only to Sabrina and me. I ran for a while and then when I got to a particular clearing, she slowed to catch my breath. I hoped that the journey was going to be a fruitful one. 'Once I meet with him and I'm able to help him, I shall return to my pack, at peace with myself', I thought aloud. Suddenly, I was surrounded. I needed no seer nor special abilities to know who those who surrounded me, were. Their attire and mannerism gave them away. I started moving backwards, 'What... who are you?' I asked, fear evident in her voice. 'Ha, ha, ha, ha', the leader of the gang laughed and the others followed suit and soon, the whole place was filled with laughter. 'She asks who we are!' the gang leader said. 'Comrades, tell her who we are!' 'We are rogues at your service!' They answered, laughing mockingly at me. 'What do you want?' I asked, still moving back. I didn't want this interfering in my mission and I didn't want to show myself just yet. If only these rogues could leave me alone. If I lead them to believe I am a helpless she - wolf, hopefully they might let me go unharrassed. 'I don't have anything of value to give to you', I said and the leader of the rogues who I believed to be their Alpha due to the authority that exuded from him, barked a laugh. 'Oh, sweetheart', he said. 'You have something of great value', he smiled lecherously. 'And what is that?' I asked, getting impatient, feigning ignorance. Wanting them gone before others joined. 'Your beauty, sweetheart' he said, looking me up and down and licking his lips in a way that nauseated me. With the speed of light, he was beside me, his hands, caressing my cheek, his smell repelling me. I swallowed. 'Your body is the bomb', he continued. 'and I don't mind taking you back with me to my pack, as my toy' he said. 'If you perform well, I shall reward you by upgrading your status to the position of Luna - my Luna!' he sneered. 'What do you say?' 'No!' I answered simply, knowing there was no escaping it. I would have to fight my way out of this one. 'How dare you refuse our Alpha, ' a young female rogue said, giving me a slap. 'It is a privilege that Alpha Dick fancies you and wishes to make you, his play thing'. That was it! I thought, wanting to return the slap but before I could, the rogue Alpha himself, gave the wolf three slaps in quick succession on both cheeks. 'Who asked you to interfere or touch someone who is going to be my woman?' he howled. 'I'm sorry, Alpha' the rogue replied, her palms on her red cheeks. 'It was presumptuous of me!' 'Yes, it was', Alpha Dick replied. 'Now, where were we?' he asked with a leering smile at me that made me want to slap it out of his face. I looked at him in disgust and shook my head. 'You were going to make me leave without further obstruction', I replied and the rogue Alpha laughed maliciously. 'You are spirited', he said. 'I like that in my women. And since you want it rough, I shall oblige you. But if you come with me like an obedient little pup, I shall treat you well! The choice is yours!' 'If you allow me go about my business without further interference and hindrance, I might forget that this happened and spare your lives', I told him in a deceitfully quiet voice. 'but if not, you give me no choice but to do leal with the lot of you !' I threatened and the look of shock and fear that appeared on all their faces was priceless!.The vault seemed to hold its breath.Elian stood between them—his eyes darting from Daisy to Rowena and back again, sensing the danger, but also the ache beneath it. A pain older than he was. Something rooted in love that curdled into betrayal.Rowena was the first to break the silence.“You were always better with threats,” she said, nodding to the gun in Daisy’s hand. “But I remember when we didn’t need weapons between us.”Daisy didn’t flinch. “That was before you burned an archive, erased your identity, and joined the very council we were supposed to destroy.”Rowena’s smile was thin. “You say that like I had a choice.”“We all had choices, " Daisy contradicted her. “You chose a boy," she accused. “I chose the truth, " Daisy corrected. Rowena’s eyes flickered toward Elian.“No. You chose to hide him. To weaken him. Because you were afraid of what he’d become.”“I was afraid of what they’d make him into,” Daisy snapped. “And now you’re doing their work.”Rowena’s voice dropped,
In the underground vault, Rowena—no longer that girl Daisy knew—walked barefoot across the chamber floor, wrapped in a white coat with steel cuffs at her wrists. Her eyes were strange now. Deep, unnatural. Marked with something old.Maeron watched warily. “You said she’s not a godspawn.”“She’s not,” the cloaked figure said. “She’s worse.”Rowena turned, looking directly into the feed where they were being observed. She smiled. And whispered: “Tell Daisy I want her to see me. When I take him.”Back at Blackpine, Elian sat in his reading room with Daisy’s sketchbook in his lap. The pages were filled with maps, symbols, and strange quotes. He flipped to the last page—and there, drawn in ink and moon ash, was a sketch of a woman. Not one Daisy had shown him before. But he knew her face.It was the woman from his dream. The one who wore Daisy’s laugh. Her eyes. Her grief. He closed the book. Then whispered, “She’s coming for me.”Daisy stood behind him, arms crossed, expression unreadabl
Eliana could not seem to keep his eyes open. He slept again. And his breath caught. The moment between sleep and waking blurred like light through water. And then— He was somewhere else. Not the estate. Not the city. Not anywhere on Earth. That he could recognize at least. A field stretched out before him. Endless. Silver grass rippling beneath a black sky that shimmered with stars he didn’t recognize. Moons—three of them—hung low over a lake that reflected nothing. And in the center of that lake stood a boy. No. Him. A second Eliana. His mirror image. Barefoot. Pale. Dressed in robes made of flickering light. His golden eyes glowed brighter, older. “You shouldn’t be here,” the Other Elian said. “I didn’t mean to come,” Elian replied. “But you wanted to. And wanting is how it begins. And that is why you have been able to come here”. The field pulsed once. A breeze passed over, carrying a whisper too faint to hear. Elian stepped closer. “What is thi
The estate went into lockdown within minutes.Steel shutters slammed down over the windows. Every hallway lit up in red. Kalen activated the internal defense grid from the command center, his fingers flying over the screen like a pianist playing for war. Motion sensors lit up the terrain around Blackpine like Christmas. The private guard—the Shadow Ward—was deployed around Elian’s floor. But none of it was fast enough.Because he felt it first.Elian sat bolt upright in bed, eyes wide and glowing gold even in the dark.Something was wrong. The warmth in the air had fractured. Not cold. Not heat. Just… wrong. Like a note gone off key in a song you didn’t realize was playing. He threw off the covers.Outside his window, the trees swayed unnaturally. He could hear the wolves patrolling below, growling low in their throats. His fingers tingled. Not fear. Not yet.But something ancient moving under his skin.Something that wanted to respond. He didn’t know how he reached the door. Or why i
The summit was over. But the world was far from quiet. The last convoy left the Blackpine estate at dawn, tires crunching over gravel, banners pulled down, symbols stripped from armored SUVs. One by one, the elite wolves of the continent disappeared behind tinted glass—some with rage in their hearts, others with uncertainty. A few with something dangerously close to awe.Daisy watched them from the surveillance feed in the command room. Her leather jacket creaked as she crossed her arms. She wasn’t wearing her ceremonial cloak anymore—just jeans, boots, and a simple black tee. The crown had been left on the altar where she confronted them all. She didn’t need it now.Not yet.“They’re gone,” Troy said, stepping beside her, still in tactical gear, dried blood on his knuckles. “At least from the grounds. But we’ve picked up chatter. Some are regrouping in the city. Maybe waiting to see if you’ll flinch.”“I won’t,” she said quietly.Troy didn’t ask if she was sure. He knew her too well
The last time the Convergence was summoned, the world was still fractured by feuding bloodlines and primal law. No single voice had authority over all. The ritual had been buried beneath centuries of war, used only when an Alpha challenged not a rival—but the entire system. And now, that challenge came not from ambition...But from Daisy.Alpha Diana of the Twilight Pack. The first to wear both mask and crown. And the only one mad enough to summon all the Alpha houses to her doorstep. They came. Not by invitation—but by fear, curiosity, and the scent of something ancient moving through the bondlines of the earth. Something that stirred wolves in their sleep and called dormant bloodlines awake.By the third night, twenty-one Alpha banners flew in the vale beyond Blackpine’s walls. Not all were allies. Many came with blades sheathed and intentions wrapped in smiles. But all had come for one reason. The boy.The unbound heir. The child known only as Elian.Troy stood on the outer terrace
