DECLAN

She still had not said a word to me, and nothing broke me more than her silence. Even in our cells, I had made several attempts to speak with her, but she wouldn't respond to me.

Finally, she broke her silence.

"I should never have left you alone at the underground. I'm sorry; I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you when that wolf came for you," I had earlier said to her.

"I'm sorry, too," she calmly said.

"What did you say?," I asked, not sure I had heard her.

"I thought you were one of them; I thought the blood of the man who had killed my parents and pack flowed through you. I had no idea we had so much in common."

"I understand, Kianna," I said, relieved. "Just like you, I thought I belonged to him. I only found out the day Alioski sent for me. He killed my parents, too."

"I want revenge!," she sharply said. "I wanna die fighting, knowing that I put an end to the life of Lord Dwayne and everyone who fought on his side that night! I don't fucking care whose blood is spilled!"
