Armani

I woke up before her.

I stayed still, watching her sleep. She had curled slightly toward my side of the bed, one hand tucked beneath her cheek. There was something different about her now. Not physically alone. There was a softness in her face that hadn’t been there when I’d found her.

She looked peaceful. I didn’t want to be the reason she lost that again. I pressed a kiss to her forehead, slipped out of bed carefully, and went downstairs. I had never been much of a cook.

  • His Ruin   Chapter 103

ArmaniMy phone rang while I was standing in the courtyard, watching Drisana water the herbs she had insisted on bringing back from the hospital.I glanced at the screen.Enzo.I almost let it ring. I answered on the fourth ring.“What do you want?”A low laugh came through the speaker.“No hello?”“I know you didn’t call to ask how my morning is going.”“Fair enough.”I leaned against the stone railing and watched Drisana move between the plants. There was something peaceful about watching her like this. I had spent years building a life where ordinary was never an option. Enzo had always been very good at reminding me of that.“I hear congratulations are in order,” he said.My expression hardened.“For what?”“Don’t insult me, Armani.” He chuckled. “A son.”I straightened at once, my jaw tightening.“How did you know?”Enzo laughed again.“I have eyes and ears everywhere, mijo. You should know that by now.”Of course he did. Information moves through our world faster than money. A d

ArmaniI found her resting when I came back upstairs. She was lying against the headboard, one hand resting over her stomach while the other held a book she hadn’t turned a page of in several minutes.I placed the cup of tea on the bedside table.“You didn’t have to bring that.”“I thought you might need some refreshments.”I sat beside her. For a moment, neither of us spoke. She studied my face.“Is there something bothering you?”“What?” I rubbed my jaw. “Nothing. There’s nothing wrong.”“Armani.”I exhaled. She knew me too well already.“What happened?”“Nothing happened.”“You’ve been staring at the floor for thirty seconds.”I almost smiled.“That’s very specific.”I looked at her. She was waiting. I reached for the tea and handed it to her.“Drink this.”She took it but didn’t look away from me.“You’re worrying me.”“And I’m very sorry for that.”“That isn’t reassuring.”I rubbed my palms over my thighs. There were things I had spent months telling myself I was doing for her. P

  • His Ruin   Chapter 101

Drisana The garden had become my favorite place in the house. It was quiet in the mornings, before the staff started moving around and before Armani’s phone inevitably began demanding his attention.I stood beside the small patch of herbs I’d planted weeks ago, one hand resting beneath my stomach. The change was impossible to ignore now.My waist had thickened. My clothes were beginning to fit differently, and the small curve I’d once been able to hide beneath loose dresses had finally become visible.I ran my palm over it slowly. For months, the pregnancy had existed mostly as numbers on a medical form. Weeks. Measurements. Appointments. Now I could see and feel it. My body was making room for someone. I was so distracted that I didn’t notice Armani until his voice came from behind me.“You’ve been standing there for five minutes.”I startled and turned. He stood a few feet away, one hand in his pocket. His eyes dropped to my stomach. I immediately lowered my hand. Something about

I pressed a kiss to her forehead, slipped out of bed carefully, and went downstairs. I had never been much of a cook.I could order almost anything I wanted. People prepared meals for me, handled every detail of my life before I even noticed it needed handling. But this morning, I wanted to do it myself. I stood in the kitchen staring at the ingredients like they had personally offended me. Eggs. Bread. Fruit. Coffee. How difficult could breakfast be? Apparently, difficult enough. Well, at least I could make coffee the way she likes it. By the time Drisana walked into the kitchen, I had already managed to burn one side of

Chapter 99DrisanaI woke up in his arms. For a few seconds, I didn’t remember where I was. The room was still dim. Early morning light barely slipped through the curtains. His arm rested loosely around my waist, his chest warm against my back, his breathing slow and even. Then everything returned. The way his face had changed when I told him the baby was his. And everything that came after — the careful way he had touched me, the way he had held back until I pulled him closer, the way he had fallen asleep with his hand resting protectively over my stomach.I stared at the ceiling.I had expected to wake up regretting it. Instead, I felt strangely calm. Armani stirred behind me.“You’re awake,” he murmured, voice rough with sleep. His arm loosened around me almost immediately, like he was giving me space without being asked. I turned my head slightly.“You don’t have to pull away.”He went still. Then his arm settled again, lighter this time. Careful. We stayed like that for a while.

My back hit the cold edge of the cabinet. The contrast made me gasp — cool marble against heated skin. His mouth found mine again before I could catch my breath, kissing me like he’d been holding back for months and had finally decided to stop.“Armani—”“I know,” he murmured against my lips, voice rough. “I know.”His hands were careful even as they were greedy. One slid under my shirt, palm flat against my stomach for a second longer than necessary — a quiet acknowledgment of what was growing there — before moving higher. He pushed the fabric up, and I raised my arms so he could pull it over my head. The second the shirt hit the floor, his mouth was on my neck, open and hungry, teeth grazing the sensitive spot be

DRISANA The elevator was taking too long. I shifted my weight and checked my phone again, still nothing from Carter. No be there soon, no running late, no anything. Just two blue ticks that told me he had read both texts and decided I wasn’t worth a reply. It was Sloane who convinced me to com

DRISANA He was already smirking when our eyes met. Chills ran down my spine. “Mr Stalker?” I didn’t mean to say it, but that was the first thing that came out of my mouth. The smirk vanished as soon as I turned to face him. “W—What? I wasn’t stalking—” he began. “How do you know about th

ARMANI “Will you be my boyfriend?” I stared at her. If I said that didn’t catch me off guard I’d be lying. It was so sudden. There she goes again. Amusing me without doing too much. She stared back with her chin up like whatever she had just asked was completely normal. The courage of this w
