LOGINIsabella's POV
The elevator doors opened straight into the gala hall on the top floors of the Thorne penthouse. My heels sank into the thick, soft red carpet as cool, perfectly chilled air washed over my skin. Crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceiling like falling diamonds, throwing soft golden light across everything in the room. The whole place smelled real rich — expensive champagne, fresh white roses, and warm melted butter from trays of lobster.
I took a flute of champagne from the passing waitress in a black uniform. The glass felt real icy cold on my fingers. Tiny bubbles tickled my nose when I took a slow sip, the taste felt so crisp and sharp on my tongue.
I walked through the crowd now. Soft music played from hidden speakers, mixing with low laughter and the clink of glasses. Everywhere I looked, in every corner were powerful people who stood in their perfect clothes. Businessmen in sharp black suits. Women dripping in diamonds. Celebrities with their usual fake smiles. Politicians shaking hands like old friends. Even my father’s old competitors were here, laughing loud as if their hands were so clean.
I kept moving around. My dress slit opened with every step, letting cold air kiss my thigh. My eyes scanned the room, searching for my target.
Then I saw him — Damien Thorne.
He stood on the far side of the hall near tall glass windows that showed the sparkling New York skyline. His dark skin glowed under the lights. His shoulders stretched wide under his perfect tailored jacket. His muscles moved under the fabric when he laughed at something one of the men said. That warm smile lit up his face, perfect white teeth against dark lips. My stomach flipped so hard, watching him.
"Gosh!!" My mind screamed as I sipped more champagne, the cold liquid slid down my throat. He looked exactly like the pictures, but in real life, he made my skin feel hot. Still, Felix’s words kept ringing in my head about him being discreet. Ruthless. Not into women. If that was true, tonight would be harder than I thought.
“Isabella Vale—”
The voice hit me from the front. I turned and forced a sharp smile, trying to get ready for the casual business talks. Congressman Tim stood too close, his cheap, nasty cologne burning my nose. His eyes moved down my body then back up.
“It’s a pleasure, Mr. Tim,” I said. My voice sounded sweet but my teeth pressed tight together, already pissed off just from looking at him.
“How’s your father’s health?” he asked, tilting his head like he cared when he didn't give a f*ck. None of them fucking cared. After all, they all benefited from his downfall, when Vale Global went down.
I kept smiling even though my chest burned real hot just from thinking about his stupid act, one that I can clearly see through. “He’s hanging in there.”
I glanced past him to where the Thorne brother had been standing. Only now, it's empty. My pulse jumped fast, my heart beating hard no.
"Oh shit." I cursed real low, biting my lips.
Tim still kept talking. “Isabella, why don’t you come work for me? I’ll—”
“I’ll give it a thought. Please excuse me.” I said real quick, cutting him off fast and slipped away before he could say more. My fake smile dropped the second I turned around , dropping the act completely. Now back to business.
I scanned the gala hall one last time. No sign of the host. He had slipped away just like Felix warned, after digging so deep on him before tonight. A small smirk pulled at my red lips, so happy that I know he's every move. This is so perfect.
I left the noisy hall and walked toward the private elevators. My heart beat harder as I pressed the button for the highest floor. The doors closed and the elevator rose, so smooth and silent.
When the doors opened again, I stepped into a completely different world.
Dark walls met warm wooden floors. Soft blue lights glowed from hidden spots. A huge swimming pool sat right there in the middle of the massive room, its water perfectly still and glowing turquoise from lights underneath. Glass walls looked out over the city lights. Black marble and soft velvet furniture filled the space. The air felt warmer here, heavy with the clean smell of chlorine and something woody. It was quiet. Private. His space.
I stood still for a moment, letting it all sink in. My eyes kept going back to the shining pool.
I reached up and pulled the net comb from my hair. Thick waves fell down my back. I unzipped my dress. The black fabric slid down my body like water and pooled at my feet. Cool air touched every inch of my bare skin. My nipples tightened. I stepped out of my heels and walked to the edge of the pool completely naked.
The water felt amazing as I slipped in — just the right warmth, wrapping around my body like silk. I let out a slow breath and floated, eyes half closed. The soft ripples lapped against my breasts.
“Shit. I won’t be able to get close to him,” I muttered. If he really wasn’t into women…
“My stripper is not supposed to be here now.”
I lifted my head fast. My heart slammed against my ribs.
He stood at the edge of the pool, looking down at me. A white robe hung open over his broad chest. Hard muscles covered his dark skin, abs tight and shining slightly under the low lights. Strong thighs showed under the robe, and black boxers sat low on his hips. His arms looked powerful, veins visible. That same warm smile was gone. Instead, his dark eyes burned with suspicion.
He looked dangerous. And so fucking hot it made heat pool low in my belly.
I stayed calm, floating there naked in his private pool. His brutal gaze moved over my body slowly, heavy and intense. It didn’t scare me as it should. It made my skin tingle.
“Who are you?” he asked, his voice deep and rough.
Adrian's POV."It's tonight," I said, pouring myself another glass of whiskey, relaxing in my private booth with a few of my men standing by my side, the bass of the music muffled. Soft red lights glowed low around the booth. The air smelled of whiskey, cigar smoke, and expensive leather. I stared at the briefcase containing my diamonds. The location has been confirmed and tonight, the buyer is ready with the money and all I needed to do is to get this delivered by tonight."Money.. Money.." I lit up another cigar, so thrilled on the inside. The tip glowed bright orange as I drew in deep. Warm smoke filled my mouth and burned slow down my throat. I held it for a second, then let it out in a long, thin stream. The cloud drifted up toward the low ceiling. The rich taste sat on my tongue. My fingers relaxed around the thick cigar. Heat from the ember warmed the side of my hand. I took another slow pull, eyes half-closed, listening to the deep bass that thumped through the walls like a s
Cara's POV."That brat is nowhere in building,"Elena said, dropping on the couch. I scanned her office, can't even remember the last time I stumbled in here. Soft light came through the wide windows. The air smelled of expensive perfume and warm tea. Some staffs left right after, leaving just us in the office. The door clicked shut. Quiet settled around us."Please, where can I find him?" I stuttered, hoping it sounded very slick. My fingers stayed tight on the handle of the briefcase. The leather felt cool and smooth."You'll definitely find him in his playground by night," She said, her gaze scanning me from head to toe. Her eyes moved slow. "If you have urgent business, go find him by then.""I knew his playground already and now, I have to go there.... damn it" I cursed in my head, biting my lips. It's been a while that I have been in the Valenti casino. I can't play the masked stripper again because of the risk of him finding my identity. He is definitely not going to let me go
Cara's POV.(Another day in the office.)"What's it with your makeup today?" Tony's voice cut through my mind that still unsettled from last night. Still burning from what one man did to me, all laced in foundation and blush... I hastened my footsteps back after I slowed down when he hit me with that question. I never thought he would notice."Umm.. Nothing," I said, my voice a bit shaky and rough as I stuttered a little, caught off guard. We kept walking down the long hallway. Soft light from the tall windows touched the floor. The air smelled of coffee and clean paper. Our footsteps echoed lightly."You just look a bit different. It doesn't bother me at all," He said, his tone calm, walking steady. His hands stayed in his pockets."Good.. I rather have you notice my makeup than the faint mark on my neck." My mind replayed this morning routine. In front of the bathroom mirror I had stood still for a long time. Cool air from the vent touched my bare shoulders. I tilted my head and slo
Cara's POV “Reporters love that kind of story." I said, fixing my tone and my voice, now dead serious. He looked at me, flared up, his eyes bloodshot red but I'm sure he can't do anything. "The reporters will dig. They ask questions at every press stop. Your opponents smile and say, ‘We don’t judge a man’s private life…’ while they make sure every voter hears the rumors. Donors get nervous. Your clean public image cracks. Suddenly your perfect campaign starts to look messy.”"You don't want that to happen at this time of your campaign, Charles," I covered my mouth again and gasped softly, eyes sparkling.Charles’s jaw tightened a little, but he kept drinking. I kept going, my voice light and teasing. I'm going to let him know the list of what I'll do if he doesn't act accordingly. Even though what I really need him to do right now is to give in. Or react to my threats at least. But he still insist giving me anything.I laughed low, the sound bouncing off the bookshelves. I read his
Cara's POV.I stepped into Charles' mansion, making my way through the checkpoints from his few guards. I didn't even have to use his card which felt out of the blue because I was just granted a free pass all the way through. I smirked, wondering if he's given them an order, favoring me since I'm not just anyone now. I cleared my throat loudly, flipped my hair, and entered his house. I didn't stroll around, just found my way to his study.I opened the door hard, saw him seated, working behind his desk. "He must be in full work mode," I concluded in my head, seeing him for the first time in glasses, focused on the papers he was holding. "It's about time —" he said, raising his head, his gaze landing on me sharp. I laughed out loud, taking slow steps into the room. "About time?" I said out loud, so amazed about how diabolical that just sounds coming from the man who ditched me."Sorry that I left you alone after we fucked the other night," he said my thoughts loud, taking his glasses of
Charles's POV."Oh Fuck.. Easy on me, tiger," I said, my voice low and rough, teasing at how hard Elena was fucking me. I folded one of my hands behind my head as I lay on the bed, watching her back so arch as she ground my dick. A thin trail of smoke rose from the cigarette between my fingers. The room smelled of sex, sweat, and tobacco.Elena kept her back to me, riding hard. Her hips rose and dropped in a steady, punishing rhythm. The wet sound of her sliding down my cock filled the quiet. Soft moans left her throat every time she took me deep. Her messy bun had started to loosen. Dark strands stuck to the damp skin of her neck and shoulders. Sweat already shone across her back under the low light. She bounced harder, then switched to grinding, moving her hips in tight, fast circles. She wanted to crack me so bad. I could feel it in the way she clenched around me. Heat built low in my gut. My free hand stayed behind my head while the cigarette burned slow between my fingers. The s
Isabella's POV.“Which do you prefer?” He smirked low.He didn't take a step forward. He just stood still, his voice rose into a deep roar that echoed through the big room.“Tell me!!”My breath caught hard in my throat, as I staggered back, so shocked, finding it hard to believe what's going on ri
Isabella's POVHe didn’t fucking care. He started pounding me hard. Each thrust hit me deep, hitting the end of me, sending sharp pain mixed with raw pleasure through my whole body. The bed creaked loudly under us. Skin slapped loudly against wet skin. My tits bounced hard with every violent stroke
Isabella's POVI stayed calm on the outside, floating in the warm water, but my mind spun fast, not calm at all as I was thinking of my next move. Play the stripper? Make up a name? Before I could even decide in my head, he dropped his white robe. It fell to the floor with a soft sound. He stepped
Isabella's POV."Are you sure you won't need a new identity, Ms Vale?" Felix, my personal assistant, asked again from behind me. His voice sounded so heavy with worry.I stood at the long mirror in my room, turning around slowly. The black dress wrapped tight around my body, smooth and cool against
