Jennifer's POV
I was interviewed thoroughly, and I mostly passed all of the questions because I had little knowledge about housekeeping, but Professor Sander has proven to be difficult to please.
Could he be trying to make this difficult for me? I pondered, but shook my head.
“After careful examination, I'm sorry to inform you, Ms. Kendrick, that you didn't get the job,” he said, and I looked at him shocked.
“What! But I did well, and you haven't interviewed the rest, how are you so sure that I'm not good enough?” I was confused.
“I already know that you won't get the job immediately you stepped in.” He replied coldly, meeting my gaze, which was his first time ever since the beginning of the interview.
“Why? Why don't you want to give me the job?” I asked, tears welled up in my eyes, I couldn't believe the man, who I had been crushing on for so long, could do that to me.
Or did he know about my little crush on him?
“If it's about what me lik..” I was saying, but he caught me. “Because you are my student. A student of mine, won't be in the same house with me,” he blurted.
And I finally got it, he didn't want to have any rumors flying around about him, and he didn't mind that he would be depriving me of a job because of that.
“Oh, that reason? You are a very disciplined man, Professor Sander. You don't even care who you will hurt because of your ways. Thanks for your time today.” I said as I dragged my weight off the seat.
My heart felt heavy, and I didn't know why it hurt so much. Could it be that I wanted the job so much? Or was it because of the person that denied me the job?
“Wait!” He called out, and my eyes lit up thinking that he had a change of mind. “Yes.”
“I wouldn't be giving you a job, but if you are in a fix, and need money, tell me I will help.” He said with a tone of arrogance, and my mood dampened.
“No, thank you, I am not desperate.” I said through gritted teeth, and walked out of the room. Who does he think he is? Just because he's a professor, and earns a decent salary does that make it fine to bully people?
I thought I already got the job seeing a familiar face, and it turned out to be false, which means I lost the chance to earn such a big salary. What am I to do?
My phone blared up with a call, and I picked it seeing that the caller was Vera, she invited me to drink tonight, and since it was already evening I decided to go. I would party my sorrow away tonight, and strategize tomorrow.
“What! That's crazy! Why didn't you tell me that?” Vera screamed. After we met at the club, I explained my ordeal to her even though it wasn't the best place to have such conversation, and she was angry. I had to calm her down, explaining everything, even mentioning my job hunt to professor Sander’s mansion.
“That old snake! He said that!” Vera berated professor Sander, and I wasn't okay with it, but I didn't say a thing, so as not to anger Vera. “Yes, but I don't know if you can lend me..” I was saying, but she cut me off.
“Don't even worry about it, I will get it settled.” She said, and I hugged her tightly expressing my gratitude. She promised to give it to me, but I refused saying I will repay her when I get a job.
“So about professor Sander, you are done with him, right? Especially not after what he did today.” Vera asked over the loud club music, but I couldn't answer.
“I mean you have had a crush on him since freshman, maybe this is the time to let go. Date some boys, have wild nights, and party like crazy, you can't live your 20s again you know.” Vera advised, but it wasn't that simple.
Professor Sander, it's not just my crush, my feelings for him have developed through the years that I couldn't see myself with another man but him. Even though I knew we wouldn't be together due to our circumstances, I just couldn't give him up. Not even after what he did today, but I decided to agree to Vera’s word.
“You are right, let's forget about that jerk and party away!” I screamed, and Vera joined me as we started drinking shots after shots. Some guys came over to flirt, and I started rocking the blonde one of them, but he started advancing his touch, so I excused myself to the restroom.
When I got out of the restroom, the blonde guy was there with a creepy smile, and I knew I needed to escape him.
“Hey pretty.” He greeted, and I replied vaguely hurrying my steps back to the club. “Don't you find that place noisy?” He asked, and I stared at him weirdly.
I knew how guys like that acted, they tried to lured a girl in by acting innocent, but I wouldn't be fooled. It didn't looked half appealing as my hot professor, so I would passed.
“I can book a room for us, and let us have the best night together, but we just have to be quick, it'll get more expensive if it's overnight.” He muttered, but I got tired of playing games with him.
“Hmm, I will pass.” I said walking past him, but I was dragged back by him.
“You don't get to walk away from me,” he said, and I tried to wriggle out of his hold, but he slammed my body against the wall. “You stay with me tonight, and have me fuck you, slut!” He roared, as he pressed his body against mine, and I screamed, hoping that someone would hear my voice over the loud music, and saved me.
But would anyone like that showed up? Or I should just accepted my fate?
Jennifer's POV 3 Years Later The past 3 years had been a rollercoaster of emotions and fun. Lyon and I got married, regardless of the rumors. We took different trips around the world, and we made sure to make passionate love to each other at the place as if we were trying to leave our mark behind. It was everything and more that I had wished for: a home, a husband who loves me, and peace of mind.“Babe, wake up!” I heard Lyon call me softly, but I grumbled because I still want to sleep more. “What?” I groaned from sleep as I clung to Lyon, but he spanked my ass gently, which made me snap my eyes open immediately.“Goodness! Someone is being so freaky early in the morning, but we did that all night that I can barely walk again.” I complained.“Sorry, kitten, maybe I went too hard last night.” Lyon apologized, but I knew his apology was nothing.I would never get used to his stamina. I wouldn't believe anyone telling me a man of his age can fuck that good, but it was the luxury I sub
Jennifer's POV The news about my engagement to Lyon broke the internet, and everyone was having a hot talk about it. Some people went even as far as digging up the old videos about us, and some called me names, but I wasn't concerned about that. As long as I have Lyon with me, I wouldn't mind turning my back against the world.“You are a bitch! Not me!” I exhaled, dropping my phone, as I heaved a sigh angrily. I just came across a comment that demoralized me, and I couldn't help but be mad, but a smile crept up my lips when I saw the beautiful diamond ring on my finger.“So what if I'm a bitch? I would rather be a bitch with an engagement ring on her finger.” I got bored with scrolling the internet, so I decided to go find Lyon, who had been working all this while, but I decided to distract him. “I should spice up his evening.”I slipped into a sexy black lacy lingerie and wore one of his shirts over it, but not without sniffing in his scent, which made me wet a bit. Goodness! He s
Lyon's POV I took Jennifer home after I rescued her from that maniac, and I was happy that she wasn't hurt anyway. If it was left to me, I would have hunted Raphael to his death, but since she asked me not to, there was no reason to push it. “Jennifer?” I called gently, hearing her soft breathing as she lay her head on my chest. We were currently back in my room after we both took a shower, acting like we didn't just almost miss each other for life.“What's it?” She pouted as she raised her head to look at me, trapping me in her misty eyes.“Can you promise me to always share your whereabouts every time you go out? We don't want this happening again, okay?” I mumbled, and she nodded her head, promising me that she wouldn't do that again.“Thanks for always saving me, Daddy. I love you,” was whispered softly, as she drifted to sleep, and it took me some seconds before my brain processed the reply.“I love you too, kitten.” I replied, hugging her tightly to my body, and I also drifted
Jennifer's POV I didn't know how dark and bright it was outside, but I knew I had spent a few hours in the boat, which meant we were already in international waters, going to a place unknown to him. Raphael wanted to shove me back into his world without my consent, but I wouldn't make that easy for him. I tried to sneak out of the place, but I noticed that was impossible. I sat up from the bed when I heard the door creaking open, and I made a mental note to charge towards it before it could close.“Jennifer, are you…” Raphael was saying, but he trailed off as I raced towards the door, which he locked before I could get there.“That's a lot of commitment, Jennifer. If I didn't know better, I would have thought you were an Olympian,” he mocked, and I glared hard at him.“Let me go, Raphael; things won't end well for you if you keep me; Lyon will find me!” I explained, but Raphael just mocked me.“Do you think you can scare anyone with that? We are already in international waters, but
Lyon's POV The last few days had been quite peaceful with Jennifer staying with him, but I stepped out to check on someone, and I just got back home. I was already hyped up and ready to see Jennifer's beautiful face ready to receive me, but my mood dampened when I didn't find her in, so I went to ask my men. “Where's she?” I asked my kin as I strode out of the house, but my steps halted when I heard his reply.“I don't know, boss; she left in a hurry saying that she was going somewhere, and she hasn't come back since then.” He reported, and my eyes furrowed in confusion hearing that.“She left in a hurry? And she didn't tell you where she was going?” I asked, and he shook his head.“Ok, you can leave.” I dismissed him.I didn't understand why I felt unsettled finding out that she went out, so I decided to call her and inquired about her whereabouts. I dialled her number, but it wasn't reachable, and that somehow got me worried.“Maybe her phone ran out of battery; I shouldn't jump t
Jennifer's POV “Hey beautiful, are you up?” I heard a slight whisper, and I stretched lazily on the bed, but my eyes snapped open when I felt an unfamiliar hand on my cheek.“What the hell!” I screamed as I looked at the unfamiliar place, but I relaxed a bit when I saw Raphael's worried face.At least a familiar face.“What's this place, Raphael? And how did I fall asleep? I need to go,” I blurted, as I tried to get up from the bed, but I felt dizzy, and I fell back to the bed.“You didn't fall asleep, Jennifer; I made you.” Raphael said, getting up from the bed, and I shot up my eyes. “What? Did you drug me?” I asked, and the memories of what happened at his place earlier sank in.“I mean, yes, you won't follow me if I asked you to,” he was saying, but I lunged at him.“You crazy fool! What do you do that for?” I didn't let them go of him until he yanked me off, and that made me very dizzy, as I was still lightheaded due to the effects of the drug, but I couldn't fathom why Raphael
