Jennifer's POV
He gave me a confused look, and I quickly rephrase my words not wanting to get in trouble.
“I meant to say yet, I'm drenched,” I beamed with a smile forgetting my problem for a while, but he didn't return the smile. He's always so cold. “Then stop walking mindlessly in the rain,” he scolded.
“Are you scolding me, professor? Don't worry, I'm a good girl, and I will listen to you.” I whispered in a low voice gazing into his blue eyes, and it was like time stopped as we both stood staring at each other.
I felt hot just standing there with him, that was the closest we have ever been in years, and standing in the rain makes it more romantic, as I inched forward to him, he took some steps back.
“You can have it,” he said, handing me the umbrella, and before I could refute he left.
“Just like that!” I exclaimed, but a smile hitched my lips, as my nostril was filled with his masculine scent missed with the fresh rain water.
“Oh, Lyon Sanders! The man you are.” I beamed, and walked to my dorm. I decided to find a job to pay for my college tuition even though I doubted there would be a high paying job for a student like me.
Even though my encounter with my professor was brief it still kept my mood up, which made me ecstatic during my job search online, but my mood turned solemn when I couldn't find any suitable job.
I laid helplessly on the bed, and I wondered if I should just take a break, and find a proper job. But I remembered that I have an alternative, I can sell one of my kidneys. I searched online, but was disappointed when I learned of the terms attached to that.
“Crazy work! Why can't I sell my kidney? Doesn't it belong to me?” I mumbled, but I knew I sounded crazy.
I contemplated asking Vera for help since her family was insanely loaded, but I didn't want to be a nuisance. She already helped me with everything starting from clothes, and some school supplies, I couldn't burden her with this.
“Maybe I should take a break, that's not bad.” I said with a resolute voice, but a notification sound from my phone interrupted me.
I picked it up, and noticed that it was a flier for a housekeeper job, and I hissed in frustration, but when my eyes caught the salary I sprawled in shock.
“What! $7000 a month!” I exclaimed, and I cross-checked the information well.
I didn't want to believe it, but when I logged in to the site I was sure of the information, when I checked the location of the house, I knew the offer was legit. It was Hillstone estate, one of the biggest estates in town.
“This could be it!” I blurted like I just made a world evolving discovery, but I calmed down knowing a month's salary won't take care of my tuition.
“Maybe I can ask for advance payment, I am sure my new boss won't be a cheapskate.” I said with a tone of finality like I already got the job.
I slept like a baby that night dreaming about the job, and my hot professor, but I got cold feet the next day, scared that I might not get a job, and I might have to take a break.
“So I booked a spa appointment at Felix, do you want to tag along?” Vera asked, which was her habit whenever she wanted to ask me out. She never forced any of our outings on me, such a sweet girl.
“No, I will pass, I have to be somewhere.” I replied walking out of the class, remembering that the job interview was scheduled for 3 in the afternoon, and it was already past 2.
“Why? Where are you going?” She asked, and I didn't know if I should tell her. “Actually..nothing, I just need to check on the kids at the orphanage,” I said, and she nodded her head.
“Oh, that sounds fun, but I can't cancel the appointment, tell the kids I said hello.” Vera blurted, as she got into her pink Ferrari and drove off.
“I can take care of this myself,” I said with a sigh, as I boarded a cab to Hillstone estate. The cab stopped at the estate gate, since it couldn't go further.
I got to the mansion, and I was surprised by how magnificent it looked. I have seen a lot of mansions since I visited Vera's place, but this place beats all those hands down.
“Did they use the country's budget to build this?” I whispered under my breath, and a man in an all black suit walked up to me.
“And you are?” He asked, eyeing me suspiciously, so I told him I was there for the job interview.
“Oh? Then follow me,” he said, leading me away. We got into the house, and the interior left me breathless as they were screaming luxury with a touch of royalty to them. Whoever owns the house was swimming in wealth.
Many applicants were there for the job, which wasn't strange since the pay was mouthwatering, and after a while I got called in.
“You can do this, Jennifer! Don't forget you need this job to survive!” I breathed, and I walked into a room which looked like a study room.
“So you are Jennifer Kendrick?” I heard a familiar voice ask before I could take a look, but I was surprised when I saw the face of the man sitting behind the desk in the room.
“Professor Sander? Is that you?” I asked with bubble excitement, but the man just plainly stared at me.
Different thoughts went through my mind as I stared at the man, and I knew right that instant that I would get the job, but Professor Sander as my boss, could that be a sign that my forbidden romance would come through? I mulled in my head staring at the gorgeous man.
“We are going to start the interview now, Ms..” he slurred.
“Kendrick, Ms. Kendrick.” I completed it, but I wouldn't mind changing it to Sanders, and I chuckled at my thoughts.
Jennifer's POV 3 Years Later The past 3 years had been a rollercoaster of emotions and fun. Lyon and I got married, regardless of the rumors. We took different trips around the world, and we made sure to make passionate love to each other at the place as if we were trying to leave our mark behind. It was everything and more that I had wished for: a home, a husband who loves me, and peace of mind.“Babe, wake up!” I heard Lyon call me softly, but I grumbled because I still want to sleep more. “What?” I groaned from sleep as I clung to Lyon, but he spanked my ass gently, which made me snap my eyes open immediately.“Goodness! Someone is being so freaky early in the morning, but we did that all night that I can barely walk again.” I complained.“Sorry, kitten, maybe I went too hard last night.” Lyon apologized, but I knew his apology was nothing.I would never get used to his stamina. I wouldn't believe anyone telling me a man of his age can fuck that good, but it was the luxury I sub
Jennifer's POV The news about my engagement to Lyon broke the internet, and everyone was having a hot talk about it. Some people went even as far as digging up the old videos about us, and some called me names, but I wasn't concerned about that. As long as I have Lyon with me, I wouldn't mind turning my back against the world.“You are a bitch! Not me!” I exhaled, dropping my phone, as I heaved a sigh angrily. I just came across a comment that demoralized me, and I couldn't help but be mad, but a smile crept up my lips when I saw the beautiful diamond ring on my finger.“So what if I'm a bitch? I would rather be a bitch with an engagement ring on her finger.” I got bored with scrolling the internet, so I decided to go find Lyon, who had been working all this while, but I decided to distract him. “I should spice up his evening.”I slipped into a sexy black lacy lingerie and wore one of his shirts over it, but not without sniffing in his scent, which made me wet a bit. Goodness! He s
Lyon's POV I took Jennifer home after I rescued her from that maniac, and I was happy that she wasn't hurt anyway. If it was left to me, I would have hunted Raphael to his death, but since she asked me not to, there was no reason to push it. “Jennifer?” I called gently, hearing her soft breathing as she lay her head on my chest. We were currently back in my room after we both took a shower, acting like we didn't just almost miss each other for life.“What's it?” She pouted as she raised her head to look at me, trapping me in her misty eyes.“Can you promise me to always share your whereabouts every time you go out? We don't want this happening again, okay?” I mumbled, and she nodded her head, promising me that she wouldn't do that again.“Thanks for always saving me, Daddy. I love you,” was whispered softly, as she drifted to sleep, and it took me some seconds before my brain processed the reply.“I love you too, kitten.” I replied, hugging her tightly to my body, and I also drifted
Jennifer's POV I didn't know how dark and bright it was outside, but I knew I had spent a few hours in the boat, which meant we were already in international waters, going to a place unknown to him. Raphael wanted to shove me back into his world without my consent, but I wouldn't make that easy for him. I tried to sneak out of the place, but I noticed that was impossible. I sat up from the bed when I heard the door creaking open, and I made a mental note to charge towards it before it could close.“Jennifer, are you…” Raphael was saying, but he trailed off as I raced towards the door, which he locked before I could get there.“That's a lot of commitment, Jennifer. If I didn't know better, I would have thought you were an Olympian,” he mocked, and I glared hard at him.“Let me go, Raphael; things won't end well for you if you keep me; Lyon will find me!” I explained, but Raphael just mocked me.“Do you think you can scare anyone with that? We are already in international waters, but
Lyon's POV The last few days had been quite peaceful with Jennifer staying with him, but I stepped out to check on someone, and I just got back home. I was already hyped up and ready to see Jennifer's beautiful face ready to receive me, but my mood dampened when I didn't find her in, so I went to ask my men. “Where's she?” I asked my kin as I strode out of the house, but my steps halted when I heard his reply.“I don't know, boss; she left in a hurry saying that she was going somewhere, and she hasn't come back since then.” He reported, and my eyes furrowed in confusion hearing that.“She left in a hurry? And she didn't tell you where she was going?” I asked, and he shook his head.“Ok, you can leave.” I dismissed him.I didn't understand why I felt unsettled finding out that she went out, so I decided to call her and inquired about her whereabouts. I dialled her number, but it wasn't reachable, and that somehow got me worried.“Maybe her phone ran out of battery; I shouldn't jump t
Jennifer's POV “Hey beautiful, are you up?” I heard a slight whisper, and I stretched lazily on the bed, but my eyes snapped open when I felt an unfamiliar hand on my cheek.“What the hell!” I screamed as I looked at the unfamiliar place, but I relaxed a bit when I saw Raphael's worried face.At least a familiar face.“What's this place, Raphael? And how did I fall asleep? I need to go,” I blurted, as I tried to get up from the bed, but I felt dizzy, and I fell back to the bed.“You didn't fall asleep, Jennifer; I made you.” Raphael said, getting up from the bed, and I shot up my eyes. “What? Did you drug me?” I asked, and the memories of what happened at his place earlier sank in.“I mean, yes, you won't follow me if I asked you to,” he was saying, but I lunged at him.“You crazy fool! What do you do that for?” I didn't let them go of him until he yanked me off, and that made me very dizzy, as I was still lightheaded due to the effects of the drug, but I couldn't fathom why Raphael
