Asher Knox’s POV

No matter how many I killed, it wasn’t enough. I was covered in blood, some of which was mine, but the only thing I could feel was hunger, hunger to shed more blood and I didn’t care whose it was.

‘Kill them. Rip out their hearts. Tear them apart. Make them scream,’ the voice in my head instructed and I was happy to comply.

A shot was fired, hitting me in the arm, another followed, forcing me to shift back to my human form, but I remained on my feet.

With my eyes fixed on the man who’d shot the gun, I dug my fingers into the wound, taking out the silver bullets. The sick smile on my face was simply the cherry on top.

The silver burnt on impact with my skin, but instead of pain, I felt… ecstasy.

“It’s true,” the man said, hands trembling, “You really are mad.”

But he was the one with a gun, and I was only the victim. Killing him was the right thing to do and it did feel good when I tore his head from his body.

Roughly ten down, and ten more to go. But the others wer

Asher Knox’s POVInsanity was a slow process. First it begins with small signs, easily overlooked, and then it gets worse. Soon, those signs grow into something disturbingly abnormal—and then it takes over completely.I was going insane, and there was nothing I could do but watch it happen. Now I saw things, things that weren’t there. From misty figures, to shadowy silhouettes—they were no longer just voices in my head, they’d taken form.I swallowed more pills, and at last the figures faded, leaving me staring at nothing. The knock on the door pulled my attention. Jane let herself in. “You called for me?” she questioned, “Yes. Do you know how to drive?”“Where are we heading to?”“The Bloodmoon pack. I’d like to pay them a quick visit.”*My senses were a mess. One moment they were overwhelming—the smells too sharp, the sounds too loud, the sights too vivid, and in the next, everything dulled into nothing. Just as I could barely make out the road ahead of us. Still, I could sense

Liam and I had taken the yacht we’d found in the boathouse. We’d brought Ray’s corpse along. It just didn’t feel right to leave him there—once, I would have done just that without a single glance at him, but a lot had changed since then. I had a lot of questions to ask, but I wondered if it was the right time.“Liam—”“Kate—” We both began at the same time.“You go first,” he said.“I didn’t do it. I didn’t betray you or the Raventhorne pack—I could never do that, not after everything. But I understand if you don’t believe me, I understand if I’d have to proof to you and Asher that this had all been a set up—”“There’d be no need for that. He is aware that it was all a set up, and so am I.”His confession left me speechless for a moment, “But you said the only reason you wanted me was because of the child growing in my womb,”“I said what I had to. I didn’t mean it. Asher sent me here to find you, and bring you back to the pack.”Tears of relief flooded my eyes. “How did you find m

I’d rather have a fraction of you, than none at all. For the first time in my life, I could relate to him. I knew what it felt like to want someone so much, that you’ll be willing to accept whatever portion of them they were ready to offer.I’d loved Asher, even when I’d believed he couldn’t love me back.In Rayson’s eyes, I saw desperation. And at that moment, I did the very thing I’d sworn not to ever do. I allowed myself… believe. I allowed myself believe he had changed, I allowed myself believe he was a new man, because he was. It was evident not only in his words, but his actions. He’d become the man I’d always wanted him to be, but by now it was way too late. I imagine if time was rewinded—before all the lies and the deceit, before I met Asher, things could have worked between us. But he was right, my heart belonged to another, and it could never be him.Right there I made the decision, I wasn’t leaving with him. I wasn’t going to allow myself to be forced into a life I did no

“How do I know you’d keep to your words—how do I know you wouldn’t come for my head the moment she is free?” Ray questioned, pulling me uncomfortably closer.“You have my word, and unlike many others, I keep to it.” Liam said, and I believed him. Each second Ray remained silent, hope bloomed in my chest. I could tell he was thinking it over. Of course, he wanted his pack back and wanted Marcus to pay for betraying him, but how badly did he want it?For as long as I knew Ray, his pack always came first, before anything or anyone else. This was the reason he’d blamed me for his infertility—because he worried what the pack would think of him if they knew the truth. But he was changing, and I could see that. Still, I hoped and prayed that that part of him hadn’t changed. I prayed he’d choose his pack, just as he’d done many times before. My prayers went unanswered.“How about I tell you my own terms?” Ray finally spoke up.“What are your terms?”“You and the others you’ve brought along wi

LIAM’S POVThe island came into sight, and again I had that nagging feeling that Kate was here. The dark sky was only lit up by stars—this was going to work to our advantage. Still, we had to stop a good distance away and swim the rest of the way if we wanted to remain undetected.I took out two pistols and tucked them into my belt, before passing the weapon bag to Brian who did the same.Ruben would stay with the boat, and once we gave our signal, the “whistle,” he’d move closer to shore so we could get in.I dove into the water as silently as I could and Brian followed, together we swam towards the shore.*Liam and I split up the moment we got into the building. There should be at least a dozen rooms in here and she could be in any. But, I suspected she wouldn’t be at the ground floor… well, except he had a basement he’d kept her in. So, my best guess was that he was keeping her in the two other floors higher up. Brian inspected the ground floor just to be sure, while I proceeded

KATE’S POVRayson walked in with an arm full of clothes. He placed them down on the couch. “Some might not be the best fit, but I figured you might want to change out of… that,” he motioned to the dress I’d had on for days now.I walked to the couch, inspecting the dresses. Just as he’d said, they weren’t the best fit, but they were better than nothing.“Whose clothes is this?” I asked, the moment the question left my mouth I immediately regretted asking. It was simply best I didn’t know, and from the look on his face, he thought the same.“It was my mom’s.” Well, that’s exactly why I shouldn’t have asked. “I’ll understand if you don’t want to wear them, I could get you something else—perhaps some of my clothes…”“It’s fine. This would do, thank you.” He seemed surprised that I’d agreed to wear them, but it wasn’t like I had a choice, and this had to be better than wearing his own clothes.I picked the loose ivory color dress, before heading for the bathroom. After taking a shower
