Elara's POV

Damian's scent hit me the moment I stepped inside—spiced cedar, raw dominance, and something uniquely him that made my wolf stir in restless anticipation.

He leaned against his desk, his gaze on me with a knowing and annoying smirk. The door clicked shut behind me, sealing us inside the suffocating room.

"Welcome my love," he murmured, his voice disgustingly sweet.

I loathe the way my body jerked to that voice, that look. I Hated the way my pulse raced, how my wolf whined for him despite being the devil that shattered my life.

Mate bond. I hated that it doesn't matter what your mate did as long as you haven't rejected him then she still belonged to him.

"Shut up," I snapped, anger simmering inside me.

He gestured towards me, his voice low and commanding. "Come here."

I stiffened. I didn't move, I refused to be his puppet. "Just get this out with," I bit out, my nails digging into my palm. Then it struck me. Lyra. "Did Lyra—the woman you love know that you're still obsessed

Elara's POV After much persuasion, the doctor finally agreed to keep my secret, though his concern was evident."Luna...do you need help? Is the Alpha maltreating you?" He asked, his voice laced with worry as he checked my vitals once again.I forced a small smile and shook my head. "Everything is fine," I lied. This was my battle —one that I had to fight alone.Damian.He hasn't even bothered to check on me. I was still his wife for goodness sake. The moment he chose Lyra over me, the moment he destroyed my family, he ceased to be my mate, my husband. He ceased to be my mate and husband since the day he chose Lyra over me and destroyed my family.I sat up, wrapping my arms protectively around my stomach. Last night, a foolish part of me had wished he would find out about the pregnancy. Maybe then he'd treat me differently. Maybe he'd try to fix us. Maybe he'd finally realize that my father would never do those things he accused me of. But why do I still love him? Despite everythi

Damian's POV I need to know whatever Elara was planning. I need to know about her discussion with the Elders because the way at which the Pack members looked at me—it wasn't the admiration I had expected. Their stares were cold, judgemental, and disapproving. They don't like me. They don't want me. Why? I'm their Alpha, and they'd better get used to that.I had rushed Lyra out of the room and was about to drive to the hospital when something tugged at me. Elara. I had hit her too. I can feel her pain through the bond. For a brief moment, I considered sending Kael to take care of her while I handled Lyra, but when I realised she was naked and unconscious, I had no choice but to go get her myself. When I walked in, she had already fainted. The sight of her, motionless and vulnerable, made something in my heart twist. I quickly dressed her up, my hands moving with urgency before I carried her out. My heart pounded —not from guilt, but from fear. She isn't allowed to die yet. I have spe

Elara's POV "Then prove it," Lyra snapped. "Go on your knees and apologize properly until I am convinced."At first, I thought I had misheard her. On my knees? She can't be serious, right? No she can't be.Damian stiffened. "Lyra—"She cut him off with a sharp glare. "Stay out of this, Damian."Then she returned her gaze back to me and repeated. "Go on your knees, Elara."She wasn't joking—she was damn serious. I parted my mouth but no words came out. I wanted to argue — to use my regular line 'I'm your Luna' to make her back off. I wanted to tell her she could go to hell. But I needed to do this— I needed them to believe that I was truly 'sorry'. And this is no time to worry about honor, was it? My honor won't save my family. My honor won't make them pay for everything they did. For now, I choose to throw those honors away. I lowered myself and dropped to my knees, my heart hammering against my ribs. The pungent scent of the hospital suddenly felt suffocating as I pressed my palm

Elara's POVBack at the Pack house, the preparation for Damian's coronation ceremony was in full swing. The grand hall was decorated with shimmering lights and banners bearing the Pack's power, but despite the celebration in the atmosphere, the pack members remained distant. Damian might have taken the title, but not their approval and loyalty.I moved through the crowd like a ghost, unnoticed yet aware of every judgemental stares, and whispers. Despite convincing the elders the previous day, the people still didn't trust Damian and that means they don't trust me too. And if this kept going, it might turn into chaos.I deliberately avoided Damian throughout the ceremony, slipping away anytime he tried to get close to me. But I could feel the tension inside him. Regret? A silent plea? I can't really deduce, but it doesn't matter to me anyways. When it was time for the official coronation at the grand hall, the Pack members could no longer keep calm. Their whispers grew louder.Seated b

Damian's POV Elara's words echoed in my mind, stirring a suspicious feeling—one I didn't want to entertain inside me.'Let me work at the company.'The silence stretched between us as I studied her carefully, searching as if I could somehow see her ulterior motive behind those steady, unwavering eyes. Elara was feisty, she isn't one to back down from a challenge easily, but this was unexpected. She had spent weeks resisting, rebelling, and yet now, she wanted to step into my world willingly. She even stood up for me when the Pack members doubted my capabilities, even went as far as kneeling down to show her sincere apologies to Lyra. This isn't the Elara I know. This woman won't retreat like this. Maybe she was tired of everything? Or perhaps she accepted her fate knowing quite well she was stuck with me forever.I narrowed my eyes. "Why?"She crossed her arms, her posture surprisingly composed despite the clear tension bubbling between us. "I need to get busy," she replied simply. "

Elara's POV Carefully, I masked my disappointed expression into neutrality as I stared at the two people standing in front of me.Ethan, my newly assigned bodyguard, was tall and interesting, his sharp blue eyes makes it difficult to read his mind. Clara, on the other hand, had a calculating glint that instantly tells me that there was more to her presence here. Her clipboard was clutched tightly to her chest, as if it held all the secrets of the world.I exhaled slowly, forcing a polite smile. "A bodyguard and an assistant? How thoughtful of the Alpha."Ethan remained silent, his expression stoic. Clara, however, flashed a professional smile that was cringe. "The Alpha has instructed us to assist you in any way necessary, Luna. I will be handing your schedule, reports and all work-related information."In simple terms: She was here as a human surveillance camera. While Ethan was here to keep track of my movements. Interesting.I leaned back in my chair, crossing my arms. "I appreciat

Elara's POV The next day, just around the time I had told Mr Graham to meet me at the hospital, I walked into Damian's office. I stood before him, my heart racing but my posture relaxed. I had to do this. One misstep, and everything would fall apart."The doctor told me the last time to come in for regular check-ups. I want to go today since it's the weekend," I told him, keeping my tone as neutral as possible.Damian barely looked up from his paperwork. "You can leave," he said. Happiness surged through me as I resisted the urge to clench my fists in victory before he added, "Take Ethan with you."Ethan. That is it. I didn't know why I expected Damian would let me go alone. My mind raced for a perfect excuse and when I found one, I feigned mild annoyance. "There's no need for that. If a guard follows me, rumours will start spreading that I'm sick. Do you really want people speculating about the Luna's health?"That got his attention, his jaw clenching. Damian was already calculative

Elara's POV "Alright, my Alpha. I'm more than happy to serve you tonight." The words spilled out of my mouth like silk, sweet and submissive exactly what I knew he'd like to hear, what I wanted him to hear. Pathetic. I even offered him my most charming smile, the kind that I knew use to captivate him in the past. The one that used to make his eyes darken with lust. And just like I expected, they did work. And he was also surprised. He hadn't expected me to say such words but I did anyways and I didn't regret it one bit. Because every word I said… every breath I took in his presence now… was a blatant lie. Inside me? I was screaming in anger. But then my wolf as always was silent at the moment—I realised she was torn between us—obviously wouldn't mind sleeping with her mate, but she was still bothered that I didn't want to do it. I turned back toward the room, the fake smile washing off my face the moment my back was to him. The moment I knew he couldn't see me and a deep fr

Damian’s POV “Elara’s belongings,” I said coolly, my hands tucked behind my back as I addressed the two maids standing near her door alongside with me. “Pack them. Move everything that belonged to her into my chambers. She’ll be staying there from tonight onward.” The maids exchanged a quick glance of uncertainty before bowing and entering the room. I leaned against the wall outside, waiting. After she left earlier, I was suddenly interested and aroused more than I could control. I needed to act fast before she changes her mind, and it was to test her too. To make sure she really meant well. And also to keep an eye incase she tries to carry out her initial threat of 'I will drag you down from that throne.' I don't want her fooling me again like she did with Ethan. I hadn't find out what really happened between them but deep down inside it feels like Ethan betrayed me. He was fooling me while working for her. Because it was the only explanation that made sense after I saw her bre

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 108

Lyra's POV Elara..... That sly bitch. She had barely let me step outside before she slammed the door in my face like any more minutes I spent in her room hinted that I was ruining something.... something important, something she was obviously hiding. I stood in the hallway for a breath longer than I should have, my eyes narrowed, heart racing with suspicion. That satchet… that damn pills on her table. I knew exactly what it was. Prenatal vitamins. I was taking the same pills for my baby recently, although it was a different brand. But hell, I still recognised them if I see them anywhere. Could Elara really be pregnant? Or is it possible for someone who isn't pregnant to be taking a prenatal vitamins? I don't think so. The thought made my heart skipped a beat. I turned on my heels, walking down the corridor. If she was pregnant, then who was responsible for it? Was it Damian? Or maybe....... Ethan? My eye widened at my thoughts, but I quickly shook my head in disagreement. I

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 107

Elara's POV Once Clara left, I sat down at the edge of the bed and rubbing my temple and sighing in frustration. I had just remembered that I said I was going to move to Damian's room. This was crazy. I didn't even mean to say that. But the word had left my mouth before I could stop them in a desperate bind to make him believe me earlier. I should have never said that no matter what. Sharing a chamber with Damian again felt like inviting a wolf into my den, one I couldn’t quite keep from growling, or biting. And that kiss… the memory of it alone made my stomach twisted with discomfort. And now? I'd be sleeping in his bed tonight. And I don't need any soothsayer to tell me what was to come next. It was crystal clear that he'd try to sleep with me. He’d use it as a test, a way to claim control and even if it isn't that, I could see I still have an effect on him. And the thought of his hands on me for the whatever reasons, the thoughts of his cock inside me after I had sworn not

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 106

Elara’s POV The moment I stepped into my room and the door clicked shut behind me with a soft click, I leaned against it for a long moment, closing my eyes and I had a bit of relief. My chest was still rising and falling from the aftermath of that kiss. I clasped my hands together tightly, trying everything I could to steady my breathing. The disgusting taste of that kiss still lingered on my lips. It was everything warm, aggressive, unforgettable. And it was everything I hated because of the way it had unraveled me in ways it shouldn't. Damn him. For one week I had been preparing for this. And I thought I was fully prepared to take up this role that I had perfectly crafted. This role of being calm, calculated, in control. But it turned out to be harder than I had expected. The moment he pressed his lips on mine, something within me cracked. Something old. Something buried. Something dangerous. Fuck!!! Even my wolf wasn't left out. She had been restless, jumping inside me since

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 105

Author's POVElara’s eyes glittered with unshed tears. “No. I still feel betrayed. But I’m choosing peace. Choosing to put everything behind me and move on.” “Bullshit,” Damian snapped. “You don’t forgive that easily. I know you, Elara.”Her lips curved into a slow, mysterious smile. “Maybe you don’t know me as well as you think.”There it was. The glint in her eyes. The spark behind the calm. She was playing a deeper game, and they both knew it. The only problem was—he didn’t know the rules yet. He can never know. His own tenure have run out and this was her own time to be in charge. Her games, her rules. Damian exhaled heavily, running a hand through his hair. He had no choice not to believe her for now. He knew pushing further was useless. "I don’t know what game you’re playing, but if you hurt yourself or get caught in something dangerous—”“I’m not here to hurt myself, Damian,” she interrupted coolly. “I’m here to stand by your side. To support your reign. Isn’t that what a L

But the echo of the elders’ reluctant chants of “Long live, Alpha Damian”, still lingered in the air, thick like a aftertaste of a sour poison.Damian didn’t speak. Although he could barely hold himself from snapping but at the end of the day he waited until the heavy doors slammed shut after he gave the guards a quiet order to exit the room, leaving only two people in the room.Him. And her.Elara sat back on her throne, her legs crossed in such a graceful manner that made her give a type of aura that was impossible to ignore. Damian noticed it but he quickly shoved it away.Who would care about some aura in such a situation? He was literally burning with rage inside. She noticed him as he tried to force himself to look away from her and a faint, taunting smirk tugged at the corners of her lips.Interesting. Author's POVA week later.Although everything had died down temporarily, the elders still had their suspicions. They were equally keeping an eye on Kael, their eyes like that of an eagle watching, waiting for him to flop. And also on Damian trying to figure out the real reason why he let Kael go.For one whole week, Elara was nowhere to be found. She hadn't been seen in the palace. Everyone had expected that she was still probably angry at the Alpha for everything and coupled with the fact that justice wasn't exactly served.Today, Alpha Damian sat at the grand hall with Elders Seraphina, Selena, and a few other trusted members of the high circle. They were discussing about the pack matters and how to restore peace.Kael stood by silently near the back, arms crossed with a guarded expression on his face. From the look on the Elders face anytime his eyes met with them, he knew he wasn't exactly wanted here but he equally doesn't care.A sharp knock on the double doors silenced the roo

Damian turned away slowly and made his way towards his room, his steps heavier than the last and his thoughts a storm. When he got in, he shut the door behind him, resting on it. He exhaled slowly, but the weight of his encounter with Elara didn’t lift from his chest. He felt bad. No. He felt worse.Of course, he had expected her rage. Prepared for the venom in her voice. But it didn’t make the blow hit any less. If anything it felt like he was broken beyond repair. He had agreed with her, and assured her that he would fight for Ethan. But he didn't. And now the guilt was already eating him whole and alive. Haunting his soul. She’s right, his wolf whispered in his head. 'You betrayed her. You betrayed Ethan.''But I had no choice,' he fired back. Not really. It wasn't his choice. He had to do it to save his child and that
