Chapter 2

Author: Echo
Another mocking note was soon stuck to our door.

"Protect Rare Species: Do Not Spook the Swamp Mud Dragon."

Mia tore the note to shreds, cursing furiously.

"Are you really going tomorrow night?"

My expression remained relaxed. "I already bet my crystals. I'm ready to make a fortune."

"But it's going to be broadcasted to the whole school!"

Mia crouched in front of me.

"Beatrice, losing 5,000 crystals is nothing. You don't have to let those jerks humiliate you again just to prove a point."

I knew she genuinely cared about me.

After the awakening yesterday, my mentor had done a private appraisal for me.

Normally, after a dragon knight awakens, their magic fluctuations stabilize quickly.

But the power of my awakening didn't fade; instead, it grew stronger and stronger.

The final appraisal result was:

"Ancient bloodline fluctuations detected. Suspected to be the Primordial Divine Dragon."

I took the appraisal certificate from my drawer and handed it to her.

Mia read it and jumped up so fast she almost hit her head on the bed frame.

"So you're not a Swamp Dragon at all? You're a once-in-a-century Primordial Divine Dragon?!"

"Yep."

"Why didn't you make this public?"

I pointed at the arrogant laughter outside the door.

"If I said it, would they believe me?"

Of course not.

They would just say the certificate was forged. They'd say I was a sore loser.

Only when the Primordial Dragon actually descends will their mouths be shut.

Mia immediately raised her wand in excitement.

"Then tomorrow night, I'm going to cast the strongest glamour spell on you! You're going to look gorgeous and slap them all in the face!"

I held her hand down.

"No need."

I will walk in exactly the way they mocked me.

I want them to see clearly.

The person they pushed to rock bottom is still Beatrice.

My phone vibrated repeatedly.

Miles used an anonymous burner account to add me.

"Stop being stubborn."

"Lucia will likely be an A-rank Knight. If you go after her, the contrast will just make you look worse."

I simply ignored it.

Lucia followed closely with a message.

"Beatrice, if you don't want to be laughed at by the whole school, you can beg me."

"I can have someone turn off the live stream so you lose a little less face."

I replied:

"No need. I'm just worried that if the stream is off, no one will be around to watch you cry."

The other side was quiet for a dozen seconds.

Lucia sent a voice memo, her usual gentle tone completely gone.

"I'm doing this for your own good. Don't be ungrateful."

"Did you think making up a Divine Dragon bloodline would scare anyone?"

I narrowed my eyes.

"How do you know about the Divine Dragon?"

The voice memo was instantly unsent.

Only my mentor and I knew about my appraisal, and Mia just found out.

Yet Lucia knew in advance.

The next second, my appraisal certificate popped up on the forum.

The part saying "Ancient bloodline fluctuations" had been cropped out, leaving only "Low-level dragon bloodline."

The caption read:

"So funny. Delusional low-level dragon trying to claim she's a Primordial Divine Dragon."

The forum went wild with laughter.

"Has she been reading too many heroic epics?"

"Her delusion is thicker than dragon scales."

Mia stood up anxiously.

"Let's go find the mentor and clear this up right now!"

"No need."

The louder the mockery now, the harder the slap in their faces when the truth is revealed.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

It was Kael.

He had resonated with the Sacred Fire Dragon. He had the highest bloodline in our year and was the most likely to become an S-rank Dragon Knight.

He was usually cold and aloof, rarely talking to anyone.

I was a bit surprised to see him. "Can I help you?"

He held up a sealed file folder. I recognized it as my other bloodline appraisal copy.

"Someone took this and tried to sneak into the archives to burn your records."

"I stopped them."

I took the certificate.

"Who was it?"

"The academy is looking into it."

He turned to leave, but I stopped him.

"Why help me?"

Kael paused, not looking back.

"I don't like it when people break the rules."

Then, with a hint of a smile in his voice, he added:

"Don't skip tomorrow night."

"The people betting you won't show up really need to be taught a lesson."

  • I Awakened the World’s Weakest Dragon… or so They Thought   Chapter 10

On the day of the Dragon Knight Tournament, Kael and I fought flawlessly alongside our dragons and took home the ultimate glory. When we received the award, he stood right beside me.We wore matching knight uniforms and lifted the trophy together. The crowd below cheered."The two strongest knights look so good together!""Date! Date! Date!"Kael didn't use the opportunity to pull any stunts. He just bowed with me and walked off the stage.Back in the waiting area, he told me seriously:"Don't listen to them.""You don't have to feel pressured by the crowd."I took my cape from him."What if I want to be pressured a little?"Kael froze.I watched his ears twitch slightly and couldn't hold back my smile."Kael, you said you'd wait until I moved on.""How do you know I haven't already?"He stared at me."Are you sure?""Sure about what?""Sure it's not out of gratitude, or just to make Miles mad."His tone was dead serious.I answered just as seriously:"It's not gratitude.""And it's de

A month later was the Academy Dragon Knight Tournament, which required duo training.Lucia was originally on the main team. After her conviction, she was disqualified. The mentor asked me to fill in.I was about to decline, but Mia grabbed my arm."Go for it!""Your partner is Kael."I turned around.Kael was standing in the training ground, petting his Sacred Fire Dragon. He was wearing a black knight's uniform, looking even sharper than usual. But when he saw me, he awkwardly looked away.Mia whispered with a giggle, "He's nervous."Kael kept his face blank. "I'm not.""Your ears are red.""It's from the sun.""There's a heat-shielding barrier over the training grounds."I couldn't help but laugh.During our break, I noticed a scrape on Kael's arm.I walked over and took out a healing potion. His hand instantly went stiff."I can do it myself.""Don't move."I held his wrist. His skin was burning hot."Why is your face so red?""The potion is hot."Suddenly, the barrier to the traini

After Lucia's sentence was announced, Miles completely cut ties with her.He deleted their promo photos and posted an apology letter on the forum. In the letter, he admitted to the betting pool and confessed that he had hidden our relationship because of my bloodline and appearance. The last line was:"Beatrice, I will prove with my actions that the only person I've ever loved is you."Some people in the comments were actually moved."Childhood sweethearts for so many years, give him another chance.""Men make mistakes. As long as he knows to come back."Mia furiously spammed throwing-up emojis under his post."What do you mean 'men make mistakes'?""Does a normal guy put his girlfriend on a betting table?"I only replied to Miles with one line:"No need to prove anything. I don't need it."At dusk, he blocked the entrance to my dorm.In his hand was the ring. The broken pieces had been glued back together, infused with fresh magic, and even embedded with a high-grade ice crystal.A cr

The next day, a picture of me in my golden cape was on the front page of the forum. This time, there was no mockery in the caption.Instead:"The Primordial Divine Dragon Knight Appears! Beatrice's New Look!"In the photo, my hair shimmered with gold under the sun.The golden war-marks by my eyes gave me a mysterious edge. The comments were full of frantic admiration."Where are the people who called her a loach yesterday?""How does this face not deserve the Frost Dragon Knight?""I propose we elect a new Student Council President."I scrolled for a bit, then closed the app.Yesterday they laughed at my mud, today they worship my power. It’s all the same. After class, my desk was piled high with invitations and gifts from major noble families.Mia walked in carrying another pile."People are asking me what your type is.""What did you say?""I said you like guys who don't talk much."I couldn't help but laugh. The classroom suddenly quieted down. Miles had walked in holding a lunchbox

After the ceremony, Lucia was taken away by the Magical Guard for investigation. Before she left, she looked at Miles with red eyes.Miles just stood there. He didn't go after her.As soon as I walked out of the plaza, he grabbed my arm from behind."Beatrice, let's talk."I shook him off."We have nothing to talk about.""I admit I was wrong about the bet."He blocked my path."But I only told you not to come because I was afraid they would laugh at you.""Oh, so sending me 5,000 crystals to stay quiet and accept the humiliation was you protecting me?"Miles was stumped. After a few seconds, he muttered defensively:"Everyone thought you were a low-level bloodline back then.""Lucia had just gotten the Phantom Dragon, and the academy wanted us to take promo photos. I didn't want things to look ugly.""So the best solution was for me to hide?"I looked at him."Miles, you weren't afraid I'd get hurt.""You were afraid people would find out you had a low-ranking girlfriend."His face gr

"Contracted Dragon Bloodline: Primordial Divine Dragon.""Knight Rank: SSS-rank."Dead silence swept through the plaza.A few seconds later, the forum comments absolutely exploded."Primordial Divine Dragon? The extinct one?!""The only SSS-rank bloodline in the whole school?!""Who the hell called her a Swamp Dragon earlier?!"The dean checked the results three times. It didn't change. The mud that had covered me was simply a transitional phase of the Divine Dragon's awakening. As the contract completed, the last trace of impurity faded from my fingertips. My once-dull hair began to flow with golden light, and two golden war-marks appeared at the corners of my eyes like natural eyeliner.Dozens of phones were aimed at me.The people who had sneered at me moments ago were completely dumbfounded.Miles stood off the stage, his lips moving."Beatrice..."I ignored him.Lucia stared at the massive dragon shadow in the sky that almost blocked out the sun, muttering in disbelief."Impossibl
