ELOWEN

It was around 9 at night when I left the hospital. Doctors didn't release him and wanted him under observation for the night.

The new guard, Charlie, had followed me. Well, obviously. Although I preferred my privacy, the recent incidents, specifically Alexander's accident, which wasn't an accident at all, made me swallow my defiance and let him follow me.

Once I reached the new apartment I was given, I entered the elevator with him following behind. I wonder how long is her gonna be with me? Is he going to live with me, or what?

I wouldn't be surprised, actually. I don't trust Alexander in these cases; who knows what he ordered.

However, thankfully, Charlie didn't stay with me. He dropped me off at my apartment, checked everything, and then bid me good night. "I'll be near you, ma'am. Call me immediately if there's anything," he said before leaving.

I gave a curt nod and watched him walking away.

I locked the apartment door and turned around, my eyes scanning the place again

ELOWEN I froze for a moment and at that moment, his grip loosened. Taking the chance, I slipped away, turning around and landed a hard slap on his face, raw and wild. “How fu**ing dare you!?” I hissed at him. He looked baffled for a moment, before stepping forward. “Elowen, I…” “Don’t!” I hissed, grabbing the knife again from the couch where it slipped. “One more step and I won't hesitate.” I warned, my throat shivering with fury and fear. He paused, his look was confused. Clearly didn't expect me to react this way.Did he expect me to welcome him with open arms? Bloody fu**ker. “What do you want!?” I hissed again, my tone was sharp, still trembling. “El, listen…” he tried to step forward. “I said, don't!” I held the knife in a stabbing mode and he paused. Sighing, he rubbed his face and shook his head, raising his hands in a surrender mode. “Fine, I won't step forward.” He said. He then stepped backward. Then sat on the couch as though he had just dropped by for coffee inst

  • I Married A Billionaire, Who Wanted Revenge!!!   34. This changes everything...

ELOWENThe door had barely clicked shut when the silence turned heavy. The faint scent of cedar and bergamot still lingered in the air, an echo of his presence that refused to fade.Something was off. I felt it. The way his voice dropped before he left, the way his jaw had tightened and the tension on his shoulder — it wasn’t nothing…But hey, why should I care, right? We're just work partners and not lovers for me to care about to this extent! Wait, but he had done things a normal partner wouldn't do, hadn't he? How were you able to decline that, Elowen? “Ugh!” I groaned out. The silent yet chaotic battle in my conscience just wouldn't leave me alone!I tried to focus, indeed I did, but the unease crawled under my skin more each time I tried to shake it off. The vials in front of me blurred. My fingers shook as I measured out a drop of sandalwood, then spilled half of it. “Great. Just great.” I huffed. “Real professionalism.” Even with Adrian, who was my husband and I had all my

ELOWEN My fate, however, decided to not give me side. And Alexander Veyrek saying ‘let's see you later’ only meant an hour of break for his meeting and then he returned, and once he did, he never left! Therefore, I realised, God really has some damn issues with me! Ugh! My first hour of working was smooth, pulling the first combination, inhaling and adjusting, scribbling notes, but then, with his arrival it messed up. His eyes were on me, too attentive for my liking. I don't think teachers guard the exam hall so hard the way he was gazing at me! He was quiet, but extremely heavy. It made me highly self-conscious. However, I tried my best to focus on my work and eventually I did…“Try this,” I said, holding out a strip. “Lemon verbena, a hint of cedarwood, and a touch of ambergris.”He sniffed it once, faintly, his eyes closing just long enough for me to see the small flicker of pleasure. “Complex,” he said slowly, the gleam of approval lingering on his features and damn he looks h

ELOWEN The morning light gently appeared, a subdued gray hue that hinted at impending rain. I was up before dawn, actually, I hadn't really slept. Not because of the headlines or the flash of cameras, nope. It was the idea of stepping into his world, of collaborating on something he managed with expertise, and me just trying not to be devoured by it. Sigh— The tea kettle hissed, breaking the quiet. I brewed chamomile, crushed a bit of fennel to distract my hands. The movements were automatic, a result of muscle memory rather than tranquility. Pouring a cup of tea, I sat on the counter, glancing around the apartment, apparently a new one. Last night, after Alexander left, his assistant arrived and brought me here, handing me the keys. ‘This is your new place from now on, ma'am. The director has prepared this for you. You'll be safe here.’ He had said. And although I had all my mind to refuse it, I didn’t and accepted the keys quietly. I mean, what's happening these days is out

  • I Married A Billionaire, Who Wanted Revenge!!!   31. A cold reminder...

ALEXANDER The suite became apparent to me before she was aware. Through the glass, I saw her, and even from a distance I could feel the tension repelling from her. Tensed and distracted, She stood by the window like she owned the storm, yet clearly caught in its pull.I stepped inside, knocking the door once. Immediately, silence wrapped us into a thick and hot sheet that felt impossible to navigate.“You’re late,” she snapped, her voice came sharper, yet betraying something else — relief, maybe, or the tiniest spark of hope?“And I had asked you not to go out alone.” I said, making her turn to face me. She wanted to say something, at least her slightly parted lips hinted that, but then, she didn’t, instead, she frowned. “I was bored.” She muttered. “I only went out for a bit of air.”I honestly wanted to snap, but that face—that bloody sad, innocent face stopped me. So—“You’ve managed without me,” I replied, my tone falling casual. But my eyes tracked her every movement sharply,
