Nikolai padded silently through the hall to the bedroom, unbuttoning the cuffs of his shirt as he went.

The heaviness of the day sat on his shoulders, but a hot shower and a few hours of sleep seemed the only cure.

His hand reached for the bedroom door, already imagining the soothing relief of water cascading over him.

Nikolai opened the bedroom door, expecting the familiar stillness of a dimly lit room. But instead, his entire body went rigid. The sight before him stopped him dead in his tracks.

Cassie sat on the edge of their bed, her posture regal and sexy. She wasn’t in her usual pajamas or one of his oversized shirts she often stole without asking.

No...tonight she wore a set of black lingerie which clung to her in ways that made his throat go dry.

The soft lamp light painted her skin in warm shades of gold, her hair cascading around her shoulders, her legs crossed just enough to tease but not reveal.

Nikolai froze, his body tensing as if he’d walked into an ambush.

Inside the boardroom, the meeting droned on. Numbers... Projections... Charts flickering on the big screen. Executives spoke in turn, their voices blending into a monotonous whisper. But Nikolai's attention wasn't there. For a man known for his cold efficiency, it was unusual-unthinkable-that he was distracted. Yet he was. His gaze kept flickering to the sleek watch on his wrist, counting the minutes that dragged like hours.Something gnawed at him. Something didn't feel right with him. When he had handed Emily to Janet earlier, he'd felt her tiny fingers clutch his suit jacket tighter, almost like she didn't want to let go. He had bent down, kissed her forehead, and whispered promises that he'd be right back. She had nodded with her big eyes and sweet smile. Now, those eyes haunted him. He was having this strange feeling that his daughter wasn't okay.He forced himself to sit straighter, pushing the unease down. 'She's fine. Janet is capable. Emily will charm the whole office.'But

Janet’s jaw tightened, but when she looked down at Emily again, her smile returned, though now it was sharp, almost predatory. “Well then,” Janet said lightly, her voice dripping with false cheer, “shall we go explore, sweetheart?” Emily beamed and nodded eagerly. She skipped beside Janet, clutching her small backpack strap. At first, Janet played the part perfectly. She pointed out the different departments, leaned down so Emily could see rows of employees typing away at their computers, and even let her press the button that opened the conference room doors. Employees fawned over Emily, showering her with compliments, and Emily laughed happily, waving her tiny hand at them all. But with each smile Emily received, something in Janet twisted tighter, darker. Every giggle the child let out was another reminder that Nikolai, the man she had worshiped silently for years, would never look at her the way he looked at this little girl, and probably her mother too. The envy burned h

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    Nikolai Took Emily To Work

The glass doors of Rosewood Inc. glided open with their usual hiss, but instead of the cold silence that usually followed Nikolai Rosewood’s arrival, a ripple of disbelief swept across the whole lobby. The man they knew... their terrifyingly brilliant, cold, and merciless CEO... was usually accompanied by silence sharper than knives, a phone pressed to his ear, his long strides unbothered by anyone in his path. But today…Today, Nikolai Rosewood walked in carrying a little girl. Her curls bounced with each of his steps, her tiny pink shoes tapped lightly against his black tailored suit, and her gray eyes gleamed as she waved enthusiastically at the stunned employees.“Good morning!” she chimed, her voice like a silver bell in the quiet hall.No one moved. For three seconds, it seemed as though the building itself forgot how to breathe. Then, a flustered receptionist stammered, “G–Good morning, Mr. Rosewood!”“Good morning, Mr. Rosewood!” echoed another, the tone nervous but filled wi

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    It Was Never Fake To Me

Cassie woke with her cheek pressed against Nikolai's chest, his heartbeat thundering like a steady drum beneath her ear. The warmth of his skin seeped into her, making her forget for a moment that they were married on paper only. For one fleeting, dangerous second, she let herself imagine this was her life - that she belonged here, in his arms, in this safety. Then reality crashed in.Her eyes snapped open, and panic surged. What am I doing? She was sprawled across him like a lovestruck teenager. If Emily saw her like this, she'd probably giggle and call her a princess in a fairy tale. That thought alone nearly made her bolt out of bed.But before she could wiggle free, Nikolai's arm tightened around her waist. His lips brushed her hair as his deep, raspy voice filled the quiet."Trying to run away, little soldier?"Cassie's heart skipped a beat. His voice was heavy with sleep, laced with amusement, and unreasonably attractive. "I wasn't running away," she muttered, glaring at h

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    Love Making After Returning

The room was hushed, save for the uneven breaths they shared, their lips brushing in soft, lingering kisses that seemed to stretch time itself. Cassie’s fingers skimmed up the back of Nikolai’s neck, threading into his dark hair, tugging him closer as if she couldn’t bear a single inch of space between them. For months after her return, their marriage had been a fragile balance... bound by circumstances, shadowed by pain, guarded by walls neither dared to break. Yet now, in this fragile, beautiful moment, those walls crumbled piece by piece. Nikolai kissed her again, slower this time, savoring, tasting, memorizing. His hand cupped her cheek, his thumb stroking her skin as though she were porcelain, though the heat in his body raged far from gentle. “Cassie…” He whispered her name like a vow, like a man standing on the edge of something terrifying and magnificent. His forehead pressed against hers, his breath shaky. “Are you sure? I don’t want to take advantage of your--” She sil

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    Maybe... But I Like It

The silence between them stretched, heavy, intoxicating. It wasn’t the kind of silence that asked for space... it was the kind that begged to be broken, the kind that carried too much longing, too much restraint, until every second felt like torture. “Cassie…” His voice came low, a warning, but also a plea. His throat felt tight, his control fraying with each heartbeat. Cassie tilted her head, eyes shining with something fragile yet determined. “Don’t look at me like I’ve lost my mind. I know exactly what I’m doing. I really want you.” He swallowed hard. “You don’t understand. If I--” He stopped, running a hand roughly through his hair as if trying to ground himself. “If I touch you, I won’t be able to stop. And I don’t want to hurt you.” “You won’t hurt me,” she whispered. “I believe you. And now, Nikolai, I don’t need protection… I need you... please.” Her words tore through him, dismantling every defense he had built. He looked down at her, his eyes darkening, the battle clear
