Chapter 34

SYDNEY

"I'm sorry, it's what she wanted and I couldn't say no," Quade mumbled for the umpteenth time, "she wanted to be with him. If I didn't do it, she would have gotten someone else to."

And I understood that. I knew what the need to be with your mate felt like. Being away from Quade for two days left me restless. The thought of Ambrosia living her life without Dimitri sounded like a form of torture I wouldn't even wish upon my worst enemy. Vampires were different from werewolves in that sense. When their chosen mate dies, they had to go on with their immortal life bearing that pain.

"I know, Quade," I breathed, looking down at the grave we had buried the two in.

Dad wanted to bury them with our fallen warriors because they were one of us. We would have waited for Julian's presence but the other wolves were getting uncomfortable with dismembered vampire body parts being kept in the morgue.

Thank the Goddess!! They found Julian and unharmed just in despair. I hope Julian understands why Quade, did a mercy killing on Ambrosia. They don't need council stepping in and making matters worse. Quade does have a point about not going into the fight against his father cocky thinking he'll win.
