Chapter 2

(Morrigan’s P.O.V)

Two days later

“Wakey wakey eggs and bac-ey!” Ilayda yells at me.

“Go away, you accursed creature! Back to the depths of hell, you go demon!” I yell back.

“Why are you so dramatic?” Adelina comments.

“I just want to sleep!” I whine, shoving my face further into my pillow.

“It’s your party day woman so get your ass up; we need to start getting ready,” Winnie says.

“Winnie, why? It’s like 8 in the morning and the party isn’t until 7 tonight. I don’t need 11 hours to get ready.” I scoff.

“Well, we have a whole day of pampering for you so yes, you do need 11 hours to get ready.” My mother says, finally joining the demons that are my sisters.

“Ugh! Fine!” I say, moodily.

I get up out of bed mumbling under my breath how much I hate my sisters and mother at that moment. Why can’t a girl just sleep in for once in her life!? I take a quick shower and get dressed in leggings and an oversized sweater, pulling my long red hair into a messy bun. No need to get dressed up for pampering. Hours upon hours later, I have been sufficiently scrubbed, massaged, waxed, and plucked to within an inch of my life. It’s now 5 o’clock and I can FINALLY start the process of dressing and having my hair and makeup done. I sit back as Jolene and Catherine, the palace make-up and hair gurus, begin their job of making me beautiful.

“Princess Morrigan, how would you like your make-up to be done tonight? Do you want to keep it light with some sparkle or do you want to go all out as Princess Winnie did for her ball?” Jolene asks.

“Let’s keep it light with some sparkle, I want my eyes to pop though. Everyone always compliments my green eyes so let’s make them pop tonight.” I replied.

“Very well, Your Highness!”

“Your Highness, would you like to wear your hair up or down this evening?” Catherine asks while Jolene sets up all her make-up.

“Hmm, I think I want it down tonight but keep it off my face, I don’t want to have to keep flipping my hair out of my face tonight.” I laugh.

Both Jolene and Catherine laugh with me as Catherine begins to brush out my hair and Jolene begins to work her magic on my make-up. Tabitha enters with the dress that my mother had made for me along with boxes that probably had the shoes and jewelry I was expected to wear tonight as well. After Jolene and Catherine finish with my hair and make-up, they help Tabitha with getting me in my dress and shoes along with getting my jewelry on. My mother walks in just as Catherine finishes putting on my last earring, she gasps with her eyes wide.

“Mom, are you okay? Do I look okay?” I ask since I haven’t seen what I look like yet.

“Oh, my sweet girl, you look breathtaking. Like a Winter Faerie, only bigger.” She says with a laugh through the tears that are threatening to spill over.

Winter Faeries are known to be minuscule things that only show their human size when it’s needed to communicate. If you are wondering, yes, all Fae are human-sized except for the Winter Fae.

“Oh mom, please don’t cry. I’ll fuck up Jolene’s amazing make-up!”

That immediately makes her stop crying and her face turns into a scowl.

“Morrigan Faith you watch your mouth!” She snarls.

“Hey, you stopped crying so it's worth it!” I laugh.

She sighs and rolls her eyes as she steps closer to me as she takes something out from behind her back. It’s a rather big jewelry box, but I already had all my jewelry on.

“What’s this?”

“It’s something that grandma wanted you to have when you turned 20. She gave something to each of the girls on their 20th birthday and since she isn’t here to do this for you, I’m going to do it for her. Turn around and close your eyes.”

I do as my mother says and I hear the box open and feel her putting something on my head. A tiara? But I’m not of Fae royal blood, or any royal blood for that matter.

“Open your eyes sweetheart.”

I open my eyes and gasp. My green eyes are sparkling and look iridescent with the make-up that Jolene did. My lips were a tinted pink shade, bringing out their plumpness and the shape of them. My hair is braided and curled making me feel somewhat like a Norse goddess—yes, I know all about the human gods and goddesses because of my love of reading. I finally spot the tiara that is on my head. It has a brilliant green emerald in the middle surrounded by what looks like twigs made of gold. It was beautiful and matched my gold and emerald jewelry perfectly. My jewelry compliments my deep forest green, floor-length dress that has a slit up to my thigh and hugs my curves like a glove. It’s a little low cut for my taste, though it does make my tits look AMAZING.

“Mom, I can’t wear this. I’m not of Fae royal blood.” I whisper out, still in awe of how I look.

“Don’t be silly. You know grandma, as well as the rest of the family, have never cared about your blood and you damn well know that Mo.” She growled out.

“Mother! You cursed!” I gasp in fake horror.

“Oh, hush you. Now, are you ready to go? Thaddeaus is going to escort you down to your father since the guests will be arriving soon.” She quickly kisses my cheek before leaving the room to go greet guests with my father. Only one more hour until the party starts. Why am I so fucking nervous?
