Caraline was eating at the dining table by herself. For the time being, she was focused on finishing her meal. Forks and spoons clashed against each other on the plate. However, when she saw a maid walking toward the kitchen, her attention was instantly distracted. Caraline quickly got up, sneaking out of the house through the back way.

Caraline hid in one of the bushes as the maid re-entered the house. She peeked toward Deric's quarters. The man appeared to be grabbing breakfast, then gliding in a wheelchair towards the edge of the lake.

"What is that annoying man doing?" muttered Caraline as she poked her head out of the bushes. "Is he going to throw the food away?"

Caraline chuckled. "He'll have to compensate if he dares to do that."

Caraline came out of hiding, walking towards the lake. Her gaze immediately scanned the surroundings, looking for Deric's whereabouts. When she didn't find him around the lake, she hurried to the place where Deric used to exercise.
