Chapter 26 The Only Reason To Live

The snow was getting heavier and heavier. In the end, Carson could not catch up with Everly. He stood in the snow and the butler hurried over.

“Sir, I’ve already contacted the people. They will check the surveillance camera to find out where Miss Pettis is hiding. It’s too cold outside. You should go back first,” the butler said worriedly.

Carson did not move, nor did he look at the butler behind him. He watched the footprints of Everly disappearing in the falling snow, and clenched his fists tightly.

In the hospital.

Everly carefully wrapped her body in a black cotton coat so that no one could see the wound on her neck. She then walked in with her head hanging low.

It had been several days since she sent Granny Preston to the hospital. She wondered if Granny Preston had already woken up and if she was still in the hospital.

She pushed the door of the ward open, and when she saw that Granny Preston was lying soundly on the bed, she let out a sigh of relief.
