The plump man reached out and poked her arm. He was relieved after he was sure that she was a living human. He looked at his subordinates sitting next to him, and then said, “The machine below is stuck and can’t function. We need someone to go down there and remove whatever is stopping it.”

Everly nodded, “I just need to clean things up?”

“Yeah,” the man paused for a while and took a serious glance at Everly. He asked, “You… really want to go down? Since you heard what we said, you should have understood that once you go down there, we can’t promise you that you can get up.”

“Yeah, young lady. You may not understand, but it’s really dark in there. Although there will be lighting, the bottom is too deep and the lighting has limited range. There will be equipment for you when you go down, and you’ll be tied to a cable, but who knows, maybe something will get stuck? And
