Chapter 299 There Was No Message from Everly

Missus Baxter wanted to stop Carson, but he had already stepped outside. Enraged, she could only glare at her husband and say, "Look at you. If only you hadn't taken Everly in back then, things wouldn't have been this way! It's a pity you pitied her. Look at your son and your grandson, do you not pity them?"

"Alright, alright. That's enough." Mister Baxter, too, felt helpless. "Everly was only fourteen when she came into our house, and Carson was already twenty-one at the time. How can I possibly know that this would happen?"

"Why you!" Missus Baxter was absolutely livid. "Whatever, I'm not talking to you! I'm going out to see Oliver!"
