Chapter 48 I Would Have Killed Her Already

The snow continued to fall.

The door of Carson's room in the Baxter Residence was pushed open, and in came Lisa and Oliver.

Carson had already sat up against the bed.

"Brother Carson, I brought Oliver to see you," Lisa said with a smile. "Oliver, go see your father," she uttered to Oliver as she patted his shoulder.

Oliver walked towards the bed with small steps and looked up at Carson.

"Daddy!" Oliver shouted in an excited voice, finally showing some child-like traits.

It was a rare sight for Carson to show gentleness in his eyes. He reached out and touched Oliver's head and then carried him to his bed. "Is it cold?" Carson asked Oliver as he held his hand.

Oliver shook his head. "It's not cold," he replied.

Carson picked up a toy from the bedside table next to him and handed it to Oliver. He took the toy but did not play with it. He raised his head and stared at Carson with his dark eyes, "Dad!" he called out to him.

"Mmm," Carson responded.
