“You’re late,” Lana told Alvira the moment she dropped her totes bag on the seat beside her and sat down.

“Seeing that I'm not the protagonist of the day, I didn’t think you needed me to be here early. After all, didn’t you say this was some kind of reunion between you and Simon?” Alvira said giving off airs and annoying Lana.

She glanced around, “From the look of things, Simon didn’t come either,”

“I just finished speaking to him, he will be here any moment now.” Lana lied without blinking her eyes.

She had chosen a seat by the floor-to-ceiling glass plane and she had positioned herself to face the door so she could see him the moment he came in. The moment she saw him, she was going to start the show.

“Oh,” Alvira said, trying to hide the pain in her heart.

In fact, she was more listless than she showed. She was heartbroken. She knew she shouldn’t be here, she knew she shouldn’t let Simon hurt her more than he already did but she couldn’t help it.
