Chapter 26

Mr. Eluard is smiling while waiting for Madeline in his room. He gets even more excited every day. She might think that something special is going on between them.

“Sorry if I hurt your feelings, my dear.”

Suddenly someone knocked on the door, so it interrupted him in his deep thoughts and made him glance at the mirror, thinking that it was Madeline who was coming in. He makes sure she is presentable when they meet again.

"Just come in!" he shouted.

Cheska opened the door quickly and apologized that Madeline couldn't come because she was already asleep. It surprised Mr. Eluard, and he thought he would see the woman he was looking for again. The woman who made his heart beat again said.

"Sorry, sir, but I tried to wake her up, but she looked tired, so I didn't force her anymore," Cheska again told him.

"No, it's fine; let her rest first; I understand," Mr. Eluard replied quickly.

It surprised Cheska to hear what she heard. For the first time, she saw Mr. Eluard smile as if in love.
