Out Cold

Victoria Morgan twitches her nose several times as she perceives a nice aroma. She finally opens her eyes and at first her surroundings are all a blur. She sees a figure approaching her where she lay on the bed. The closer the figure got, the clearer her sight, until she was able to recognize him, then she gasped.

“Gerald?!"

Was she dreaming? What was Gerald doing in her house, cooking her breakfast?

“You're finally awake". He says, his expression blank, giving no emotion.

“Are you really here, or am I dreaming?" She asked, then winced, as she felt a heavy ache in her head.

“I will get you a pain relief for your headache". He says and turns to leave.

Victoria's confusion lingered as she watched Gerald move away. The room felt strangely familiar, yet the details were elusive. She hesitated, still uncertain whether this was reality or a dream unfolding before her.
