Isadora

"Tell me why I shouldn't kill you right now, Miguel."

My voice was quiet, but it sliced through the tension in the room like a blade. Every cartel member gathered around the long wooden table sat in eerie silence, their eyes fixed on the man kneeling before them. Miguel was bloodied, bruised and trembling, but he still had enough life left in him to understand the gravity of the situation.

Miguel swallowed hard, his breath coming in ragged gasps. "Boss...please, I swear, I never wanted to betray you. I was cornered. I-"

I tilted my head, my expression unreadable. "You were cornered," I repeated slowly. "Who?"

He hesitated, then gasped for breath. "C-Cesar," he muttered. "Cesar Alvarez."

Murmurs erupted around the room.

My eyes darkened. "Alvarez, you mean to tell me you sold out your family to that son of a bitch?"

Miguel squeezed his eyes shut. "I didn't have a choice, he had men watching my family. He said if I didn't cooperate, they'd disappear. I didn't know what to do!"

IsadoraHe leaned against the bar, his arms crossed loosely as the club grew louder. His eyes were sharp and thoughtful, and the way he looked at me now was different— like he was trying to see through me.“So,” Viktor began, voice low enough for just us, “where were we?"I met his gaze and said lightly, “Well you did interrupt us, so you tell me."He shifted his weight, then shrugged. “We haven’t talked much since Ivan woke up.”I shrugged back, pretending to be casual though the tension between us was anything but. “Things have been… hectic.”“Yeah.” He smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “I’ve been watching you.”I raised an eyebrow. “Good to know.”“No, I mean it,” he said, voice dropping even lower. “Watching you. Watching how you move through all this. Dimitri, Cesar, Ivan… everything.”My heart picked up its pace. “You think I’m handling it okay?”He chuckled softly. “Better than okay. You’re strong.”“Thanks,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady, but inside, the weight wa

Isadora“Want another, ma'am?” the bartender asked.I shook my head and leaned over the counter. “Just water is fine.”I needed peace and quiet after the moment I had earlier so I'd left for the club shortly after. The club was calm during the day, the music playing softly as I stayed tucked into the corner of the bar. Lights pulsed across the room, few customers drinking and discussing, as the workers prepared for the night.I'd been there for over an hour, scrolling through my phone when a voice suddenly interrupted me.“Knew I saw someone who looked like you come in.”I turned to see. Mariana. She looked tired already but pulled together — messy bun, smudged eyeliner. She wasn't in her uniform yet, rather, she wore a pair of blue jeans and a top.“Didn't want to attract any attention so I snuck in," I replied with a smile on my face. She gave a small laugh and slid onto the stool next to me. “Nah, you're most likely going to be noticed wherever you go."“Tell me about it.”She nudg

I sat at the head of the table in the meeting room, my arms folded across my chest, trying to keep my expression unreadable.Rafael leaned against the wall, arms crossed, Viktor stood near the window, expressionless, and Ivan sat beside me. The tension in the room was thick and heavy, and I knew what was coming next.Rafael was the first to speak.“So,” he said, cutting straight to it. “Dimitri Romanov.”His voice dropped low over the name, and I flinched before I could stop myself. They all noticed. Ivan’s eyes flicked toward me, his jaw tightening.“We need to know what went down between you two,” Viktor said, his voice steady and calm.I nodded once. “Yeah,” I said, my voice hoarse. “You do.”Rafael pushed off the wall and came closer. “You want to tell us?”I hesitated. Everything in me screamed to shove it back down, bury it like I always did. But that wasn’t an option anymore. Dimitri wasn’t just a nightmare from the past. He was back, and this time, we all had something to lose

Come in.”I'd been sitting in my office, scanning through papers as I waited, my thoughts scattered, when a knock came at the door.Viktor stepped inside, closing the door behind him. “He’s here.”"Where is he?""The interrogation room. Rafael and Ivan are already there."I nodded without saying a word and left, Viktor falling in step beside me as we walked down the hallway. The door to the room was open when we got there. Rafael stood inside with his arms crossed. Ivan sat at the table, silent. He was only here because he insisted.Cesar was seated in the steel chair in the center of the room, wrists bound but otherwise untouched. He’d come willingly— his expression unreadable. He looked up as I entered. “Isadora."I didn’t respond.Ivan’s voice cut through the room. “Start talking.”Cesar leaned back a little. “I came here, didn’t I?”“You came because you were out of moves,” Rafael said flatly.Cesar tilted his head. “Or maybe I came to give you something.”I stepped forward slowl

  • Isadora, The Mafia Queen   Confession

"You awake?" Ivan called, his voice rough.I'd fallen into a light sleep for some minutes, tangled in the sheets, Ivan’s arm draped heavy across my waist. We’d just had rounds of sex. Not just sex— something else. Something more intimate, deeper. After everything. After the shooting. After the tension. After him almost dying for me.“Kind of.” I kept my eyes closed. “You?”“Barely. You snore, by the way.”I scoffed, turning onto my back. “I do not.”“You do. Like a dying bear.”“You’re such a liar.”He grinned at me, half-asleep. “A sexy liar, though.”I rolled my eyes. “It's morning already and we barely got any sleep.""I know," he affirmed as he stretched, his muscles flexing under the sheets. Then he winced and grabbed his side.“You okay?” I asked, instantly sitting up.“Yeah. It just stings a little.”I pulled the blanket off of him, seeing the edge of the bandage. “Did you even clean this last night?”“We were… distracted.”“Yeah, well, you’re lucky you didn’t rip your stitches

I didn’t know what this was, what we were doing, but right now, I didn’t care. I just wanted more.“Round three?” I whispered, nipping at his earlobe.Ivan groaned, already hardening beneath me. “You’re gonna be the death of me.”His eyes were locked on mine, dark and intense, like he was seeing straight through me.“You’re insatiable,” I said, straddling his thighs, my hands resting on his chest.“Says you.” His hands slid up my sides, thumbs brushing the undersides of my breasts. “You’re the one who can’t keep your hands off me.”I smirked and leaned down to kiss him. “You’re not complaining.”“Never.” He deepened the kiss, and I felt that familiar pull, like my body was already craving him again. But this time, it was time for something different. I pulled back, breathless, and slid off the bed.“Get up.”He raised an eyebrow, propping himself on his elbows. “Where are we going?”“You’ll see.”I grabbed his hand, tugging him to his feet. He winced slightly, his injury reminding us
