***AURORA***

A blinding ray of morning sunlight pierced through the curtains, hitting my eyelids.

I groaned, a wave of intense nausea rolling through my stomach as I shifted against the impossibly soft mattress. Every muscle in my body ached with a deep, heavy soreness. As my mind slowly fought through the brutal haze of a champagne hangover, the vivid memories of the previous night came rushing back.

The altar. The live broadcast. The shattering glass at Cassian’s feet. And then...the alleyway. The heavy scent of cedarwood and winter rain. The cold, unyielding press of a massive, scarred hand lifting my chin in the dark.

My eyes snapped open. I sat up quickly, my heart hammering against my ribs as I scanned the room.

The suite was vast and bathed in a luxury. It wasn't my bedroom at the Vale estate. I looked down at myself, the shredded, ruined white wedding dress was gone, replaced by an oversized black bathrobe that swallowed my frame. On my left hand, weighing down my ring finger, sat a heavy, flawless black diamond band.

When did that even happen?

Panic instantly vaporized the remaining fog of the alcohol.

It wasn't a dream. I had actually signed the supreme Alpha Council registry. I had legally bound myself to Ronan Blackthorne, the most ruthless underworld king in the territory.

I scrambled out of the bed, my bare feet sinking into the dark carpet. I didn't care about my wild, unbrushed hair or the lingering ache in my temples. Driven by desperation, I threw open the bedroom door and sprinted down the corridors.

I followed the rich, bitter scent of dark roast coffee down the staircase, my breath catching as I approached the entrance of the dining room.

The space was immense, lined with dark floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a sprawling estate. At the head of a massive table sat Ronan.

He looked entirely unbothered, completely immaculate in a tailored three-piece charcoal suit. His sleeves were neatly buttoned at his wrists, and his dark hair was perfectly styled. He was calmly reading a digital tablet, lifting a black mug to his lips. The sheer, crushing weight of his Alpha aura blanketed the room, making my inner wolf instinctively want to bow.

The moment my bare feet clicked against the floor, his eyes snapped up, locking onto my pale face.

Unlike a normal person, he didn't greet good morning or even ask how I slept. He simply slid the tablet across the long table, the glass screen sliding to a halt directly in front of me.

"Look," he commanded.

My hands trembled violently as I picked up the screen. The headlines were already viral, exploding across every major news outlet, blog, and social platform in Nocturne City.

JILTED VALE LUNA MARRIES THE UNDERWORLD KING OVERNIGHT

‘In a shocking twist of events, hours after Alpha Heir Cassian Mooncroft announced his alliance with Celeste Soren, his discarded fiancée Aurora Vale was spotted signing an ironclad marriage registry with none other than Alpha King Ronan Blackthorne; Cassian's own godfather.'

Beneath the bold lettering was a blurry photograph of me entering the sedan in the rain, the white hem of my wedding gown unmistakable.

The media was in an absolute frenzy. The comment sections were moving too fast to read. In less than twelve hours, Cassian's grand triumph had been completely warped into a global joke. The Alpha Council was frantically scrambling to issue press releases, their stock numbers dipping as the city realized Ronan Blackthorne now held a direct stake in the traditional Vale lineage.

A cold sweat broke out across my skin. The sheer reality of what I had done slammed into my chest.

"Oh god," I whispered, the tablet nearly slipping from my fingers as I looked up at the terrifying man across from me. "This... we have to fix this. It was a mistake. I was drunk, I was furious... it was just a reckless joke in the alley...."

A loud, jarring scrape echoed through the room as Ronan stood up. His towering, broad-shouldered frame loomed over the table, his massive chest nearly pressing into my body as he closed the distance between us with slow strides. He stopped inches away from me, his presence completely consuming the light, casting a long shadow over my trembling form.

He leaned down, his silver eyes turning entirely sub-zero as his aura flared, making the very air in the room turn heavy and thick.

"A Blackthorne signature is never a joke, Aurora," Ronan growled, his voice dangerously low. "You walked into my alley. You dared me, and you signed the papers willingly. There are no take-backs in my world."

I swallowed hard, my knuckles turning white as I gripped the edge of the table to keep my knees from buckling under his pressure.

He stepped even closer, his large hand coming up to rest heavily on the wood right beside my hip, effectively trapping me against the table. He looked down at me, his gaze dark, intense, and possessive.

"Let's lay out the terms of this, Luna," Ronan murmured, his hot breath brushing against my cheek. "You wanted revenge on the boy who humiliated you. I want to hit the Alpha Council exactly where it hurts, and your family's name gives me the perfect leverage. From this second forward, you will play the role of my obedient, adoring wife. You will wear my ring, you will live in my house, and you will stand by my side in front of the entire city."

He tilted his head, his silver eyes flashing with a satisfaction that let me know he had no intention of ever letting me go.

"In exchange, my name becomes your armor. My lawyers will dismantle the Mooncroftempire, and my wolves will execute anyone who dares to look at you with pity. I will give you the power to burn everyone who laughed at you, Aurora."

He leaned in even further.

"Do we have a deal, Luna?”

***AURORA***The door of the luxury sedan clicked shut with a dull thud, completely cutting off the roar of the downpour.Inside, the space was vast, dark, and suffocatingly quiet. The scent of rich leather, expensive tobacco, and Ronan’s overpowering Alpha pheromones filled the enclosed cabin, settling over my skin. I sat frozen against the leather seat, my damp white dress clinging miserably to my thighs. My hands were shaking, but I clamped them tightly in my lap, refusing to let the man sitting across from me see a single trace of weakness.Ronan didn't look at me. He sat in total, unreadable silence as the car glided smoothly away from the hotel. The blue light of the dashboard illuminated his sharp profile; the hard, chiseled line of his jaw, the slight break in his nose from some long-forgotten violence, and the massive breadth of his shoulders beneath his charcoal vest. He had tossed his wet suit jacket onto the empty middle seat, rolling up his shirtsleeves to reveal thick, h

***AURORA***The rain was relentless now, washing the dark blood-red lipstick from my mouth and plastering my silver-blonde hair against my neck. I kept my palms flat against the rough, freezing brick wall, my chest heaving as I tried to force air into my collapsing lungs. Everything I'd just done had all been a mask. Now, in the dark, empty VIP alleyway of the Moonspire Hotel, the mask was gone. I was just a ruined girl in a shredded white dress, drowning in the wreckage of my own life.Suddenly, the air grew violently heavy.A sudden, suffocating pressure slammed into the alley, so massive and dense that the noise of the city rain seemed to mute instantly. My inner wolf, usually quiet and restrained, let out a terrified whimper and instantly dropped to its knees in my mind.It wasn't just a generic Alpha aura. It was a dark, ancient, and absolute territorial weight that felt like an iron boot pressing down on the back of my neck.Through the thick curtain of rain, a midnight-black l

***AURORA***The tires suddenly screeched as Ivy slammed on the brakes, bringing us to a sudden halt directly in front of the Moonspire Hotel. The luxury venue was crawling with life. Valets in pressed uniforms scurried around fleet after fleet of black sports cars and high-end SUVs, shielding wealthy pack members beneath massive golf umbrellas. Paparazzi flashes exploded like a storm near the grand glass canopy, throwing blinding white light over the heavy rain."Aurora, wait," Ivy pleaded, her hand shooting across the center console to clamp firmly around my wrist. Her eyes were wide, constantly scanning the chaotic entrance. "Look at the sheer amount of press out there. The moment you step out of this car, they are going to tear you to shreds. They are waiting for a sobbing, broken woman. Don't give them the satisfaction.""They aren't getting a sobbing woman," I said, my voice eerily steady.I detached her fingers from my wrist with gentle but unyielding strength. Turning to the v

***AURORA***"Just a touch more gloss on the lower lip, Miss Vale, and you will be absolutely perfect."The makeup artist smiled warmly, stepping back to admire her work. She picked up a large, fluffy brush and lightly dusted a shimmering setting powder over my collarbones. "I have worked with a dozen brides this season, but you? You are a true classical Luna. The Mooncroft pack is incredibly lucky.""Thank you, Maria," I replied, offering her a soft smile through the mirror.Every detail in the cathedral bridal suite was immaculate. The room smelled of fresh white roses and expensive French perfume. Strands of my long silver-blonde hair had been pinned up in an elegant twist, leaving a few soft curls to frame my face.I looked exactly like the woman I had spent three long years training to be.After my father died and my mother fell into a permanent coma, our old, respected Vale name was the only currency I had left. I had used that name to clean up Cassian's public image, soften his
