"I'm going home to bury my father tomorrow", I said in finality, my eyes doubling with daggers of their own.

"You can attend the funeral. I won't begrudge you that, but you would attend with heavy security detail".

"You can't stop me. My friends would be worried, they would ask questions".

"I'm not stopping you from calling your friends, Dalia", he said softly, still poised by the door, his gait relaxed and bored.

"I'm sure you can use that opportunity to answer any questions you're asked".

I glared at him, wishing I had mind powers to squeeze out his brain just with the use of my eyes.

"Get some sleep", Jacob drawled, opening the door and slipping out.

The door shut with a click and I threw away the bed covers, standing up to walk off the frustration and sexual tension that he had wound in me.
