Chapter 3

Mia invited Hunter into her house and asked him to have dinner together, Sadie refused and asked Hunter to leave because he was a stranger, but the grandmother insisted on asking Sadie to welcome him nicely.

They sat at the dining table with Turkey in the middle of the table, Sadie continued to look at Hunter with a questioning look, she didn't know why the man was at her house and what his purpose was.

"This is for you," Mia gave her thigh piece to Hunter who was sitting nearby.

“Grandma, I gave that to you, why did you give that part to him?” Sadie said.

"Sadie, give me the other part," Mia said and Sadie gave her grandmother her thigh.

"Oh thanks, but I didn't come for dinner, I'm full so you can eat this," Hunter handed Sadie his plate.

“Then what is your purpose in coming here? I can report you to Mrs. Piper, I'm sure she knows you well or I should have called the police because you've been stalking me all the way here," Sadie said.

"I just wanted to talk to you, this is important and I'm sure you won't refuse this offer," Hunter said.

"What do you mean? Did you forget you were the one who shouted at me,” Sadie said.

"Yes, but that's because I needed to pee and you didn't tell me where the toilet was, after all, Piper is my sister," Hunter said surprised Sadie, she didn't think that the man in front of her was the younger brother of the flower shop owner.

"Oh really? Ah, I'm sorry, but I didn't know if you were her brother, and you didn't tell me, while I worked there, Mrs. Piper never said anything about you," Sadie said.

"Well it's not important, can you start eating your dinner now, because I need to talk to you," Hunter said.

"About what?" Sadie said.

“About something important that I can't explain here,” Hunter said.

Sadie continued having dinner with her grandmother, they enjoyed the turkey that Piper gave them, it tasted very good, they didn't finish the big turkey and kept it in the refrigerator for breakfast.

While cleaning the kitchen, Mia approached Sadie, she was standing near Sadie who was wiping the counter.

"Sadie, meet him, he's waiting for you in the living room," Mia said.

“Why did you let a stranger into your house? What if he's a bad person?" Sadie said.

“But we know Mrs. Piper well," Mia said.

“But Grandma, he’s not Mrs. Piper, he wasn't nice to me when we first met either, I should throw him out of here," Sadie said.

"You can do it after talking to him, he can't stay here, there are no empty rooms," Mia said.

"Okay, go to your room and rest, I love you, Grandma," Sadie said.

"I love you too Sadie, go," Mia said and reluctantly, Sadie went over to Hunter who was waiting in the living room.

"What do you want to say?" Sadie said.

"You'd better sit down before we start talking," Hunter said and patted the side beside him.

“No, thanks, just say it and I'll listen,” Sadie said.

"Okay, I won't waste much of your time, I'll talk straight away, let me stay here," Hunter said.

“What! No! Big no! Are you crazy? You can stay with Mrs. Piper, she's your family and we don't know each other, why should I let you stay here? Wow, you're crazy, I think I really should call your sister before I call the police," Sadie said and as she went to the phone Hunter grabbed her hand.

“No! Listen to me first, you don't understand! It's complicated to explain but at least let me stay here overnight, I'll leave tomorrow, I promise, but don't contact my sister or anyone else!” Hunter said.

“First of all, get your hands off me!” Sadie pulled her hand from Hunter's grasp.

“Okay, fine, I'll let go of your hand,” Hunter said.

"And secondly, I don't want to hear any excuses, I also don't want to know what happened to you so you came here to ask for my help but the answer is clearly no! I won't let you stay here, so you better get out of here! Right now!" Sadie pushed Hunter's body towards the door and tried to throw him out but Hunter still persuaded Sadie to let him stay there for the night.

"Wait, wait, you have to let me stay here until tomorrow, I-" Sadie immediately closed the door in front of her and locked it after leaving Hunter outside.

Sadie went into her room, she fell on the bed, feeling quite tired from her day, Sadie decided to close her eyes for a moment.

But without realizing it, she fell asleep and only realized it when the sound of thunder suddenly sounded loud and caused the electricity in her house to go out. The room became very dark without light.

Sadie looked for her phone to turn on the flashlight and left the room to check on her grandmother.

“Grandma, are you asleep?” Sadie knocked slowly on her grandmother's bedroom door and didn't hear any sound from inside, she opened the door slightly to peek and pointed the flashlight at the bed to see her grandmother who was fast asleep.

The sound of heavy rain and thunder continued to be heard outside, Sadie also lit several candles outside her room so that the house wouldn't be completely dark.

She was just about to put the candle on the living room table, before checking the conditions outside, but how surprised she was when she saw Hunter still there, in front of her house, soaking wet from the rain.

"What is he doing? Has he gone crazy?” Sadie muttered.

At first, she intended to ignore Hunter and walk back to her room but her sense of humanity and sympathy stirred, making Sadie return to the door and take the umbrella that was in its place.

"What are you doing here? Are you crazy? It's stormy outside and you're still here? Are you homeless?” Sadie said.

“Can I come in? I was so cold,” Hunter said.

"Aish, it's only for tonight, and you have to leave before my grandma wakes up tomorrow morning," Sadie said and she brought Hunter back into the house.

Sadie didn't know what she was thinking at that moment when she brought a stranger back into her house, but it was stormy outside and if something bad happened to him, maybe she would feel guilty for the rest of her life.

"Here, this is all I have, maybe this will fit you well, and here's a blanket and pillow for you, the blanket might not be too thick and you'll still be cold but you can keep yourself close to a candle or

Think of your way to stay warm, I'm going to sleep now, don't forget, you have to go before my grandma wakes up tomorrow morning," Sadie said and she immediately went into her room without waiting for Hunter's answer.
