Katherine Cooper nearly jolted as she felt his warm electrifying touch on her cold skin. Blushing furiously, her startled eyes flew up to meet Nicholas Smith's.

Wait, what was he…?

"There's a spider on your shoulder." He murmured. His tone sounded too serious for him to be bluffing, so Katherine took it all in, hook, line and sinker.

Kate jerked in fear, twisting her head to the side for a confirmation before she let out a shriek of terror. Ugh, she loathed spiders!

But then, coincidentally, her eyes caught sight of the amusement gleaming in those obsidian mists and she stilled.

''You weren't being serious, were you?"

He smirked. "Nope. But it was fun to watch you fret over something as silly as that."

Sighing, Kate rolled her eyes before cupping her face in both hands.

''Headache?"

His cool voice tore her focus from trying to calm the throbbing at her temples. She nodded, lifting her head to look at him.
