CHICHIChichi steps on the brake suddenly at the middle of the road, she struggles to catch her breath, herhands are shaking terribly but still fixed on the steering. SUSANA distress call isn't Susan's specialty, everyoneclose to her knows she is very clumsy, and hermother remains her go-to person. TADETade gave the girls a puzzled look as the knockcontinues; she told Nora to call them back andhangs up the call. She looks at the time and wonders "who on earth knocks on people's doors in the middle of the night?" Susan on the other hand heaves a sigh of relief as the knock interrupted their talk time at the right time. She chips in quickly "It must be your neighbor or anyone from the compound or who else has the key to the main gate?" Tade raised and dropped her shoulders indicating that she has no idea why her neighbor would be knocking on her door since she wasn't even friendly to any one of them right from inception to avoid any interference in her private life. One thing Tade has learned in time was to make friends everywhere except her house or street, she gained enough bad publicity on her street after her wedding which ended up in shams. TADE"Tade, where did you drop your manners? At least invite me in" Jide spurts as he tries to make his way into Tade's apartment. Tade blocks the entrance firmly with the support of her friends, one disgusting look at him from head to toe, down to his baggage hanging behind him, Tade scoffs "Invite you in? Does this place look like your family house? You are dead to me! Go back to whatever hole you crawled out from" "Hey! I'm still your husband you know? At least until I dissolve whatever is between us, I still stand as your husband and I have my rights over you" Jide snarls making Tade furious the more but she is being held back by her friends, she assures them that she is calm, and wouldn't do anything stupid but she needs to give him a response. NORANora's phone rings interjecting the music being played on her phone, with high hopes that the caller would be Spence, she applies her lipstick and rushes to the phone to pick it up before it trails off "hello" she speaks seductively, "Hi Grace.." the voice from the phone replies, Nora looks at the screen of her phone confused "this is not Grace, you must have dialed a wrong number" "No, it's not a wrong number... Grace, Why have you been avoiding my calls? I recognize your voice anywhere I hear it, this is Alfred" the voice added before Nora could cut him off "Oh, Shit!" Nora muttered quietly "Hey Alfred! Been a while, what have you been up to?" Nora manages to sound friendly knowing that she has been caught and there is no way she could pretend to be someone else, Alfred on the other end of the phone starts a conversation swiftly narrating what he has been up to, and how he has relocated to another state due to a job transfer. NORAThe sound of plates and forks filled the air as they settle discourse on the table. It was a busy morning that day, waitresses and waiters keep going back and forth attending to orders and clearing tables. Nora clears her throat as she gulps down a glass of juice, she can feel his eyes on her, stinging her like a little fire placed behind her earlobe, but she finds it hard to meet his gaze. She drops her cutleries and moves the plate forward a bit to indicate that she is done with her meal. Spence couldn't stop staring at her, his meal has barely been touched, while she ate, he watched her eat instead. He has been stupid all along, young and dumb perhaps to must have allowed her to slip off his hand despite every green light she gave him, he wonders why he stayed away for long and never even tried to speak to her once when they were younger. SUSANThe alarm buzzed for the third time, this time itgets louder as it is nonstop, Susan stretches herhand out of the duvet to put it off.
