I took a deep breath as I heard the sickening thud of Tyrell’s body hitting the floor without an anchor. His blood spilled onto the wooden floor as the spear disappeared back into the wind where it had come from.

“Goddess,” I said silently as I looked out of the balcony and into the sky as if she would look back down at me and let me know she was watching. “I don’t know what I’m doing.”

As I turned around and headed for the room where I had kept Aaron, I found three soldiers running down the hallway.

“There she is!” One of them pointed, and all of their hands went down to their weapons. They stopped running, now heading for me carefully. They must have seen what I had done to the two soldiers who were outside.

“What are you doing here? How did you get in? And where is Alpha Tyrell?” The one who seemed to be their leader asked.

They couldn’t know I was there. I didn’t want any witnesses to this. The plan was for Deirdre to not know that I had done it. If they survived this, they would
